How can you vote cold on a deal like this? It's money off. If you have a better deal with more money off then please share that!

Not really sure how money for free can be classed as cold?
Hot from me!

Not the best deals compared to other deals and for some of the same merchants. But, coming up to Xmas and you are better having these lesser deals than none at all. Always the option of buying giftcards and using them during the sales or throughout next year.
Fenwick's for example - save this deal to several cards, buy £80 giftcards and then buy a large electrical item during their sale - you could end up with £30 off (using 3 Amex cards) on a large item.

Non Amex issued card? I get the same at the moment (can view them using direct links in post above), clicking the save to card button doesn't work. Not sure if others will work shortly, or if they are only targeted to certain cards.

yeah, it is disappointing when we got used to the better deals. Not cold tho. Surely the criteria for that has to be when you can get a better discount at House of Fraser/Gap/River Island/Fenwick/Heals??

because I need to SPEND a large amout of money to get a very small amount of money for free?
Would be super hot if they were just giving out £10 for free

HofF link showing on Amex Connect when logged in but not when not, I've tried copying the link but it is not working.
I'm about to order some Pandora charms so thanks as this is the only way I can get any money off them

Up to 10-16.6% off is hardly a small amount. You must vote everything cold if your criteria of hot is truly that people give you money for nothing :/
I think the point you're missing is one doesnt spend £100 to get £10 off at HoF. Rather if you were going to buy an item(s) to that amount that HoF stocked, you could save £10 by loading this deal.

You don't NEED to take up this deal. But if you were planning on spending this amount of money anyway at any of these shops (likely for some people in the run up to Christmas), then this is free cash back and therefore hot.
Cyrus
9 Nov 15#18
yeh its a great deal if you were going to spend the qualifying amount in a qualifying store anyway ... but you wont see me running to HofF to make an impulse purchase for 10-16% off!

9 Nov 15#19
Ofcourse, that would just be silly. But isn't that the point of this site, to inform people of deals to save money on things they would buy (otherwise we'd just have the freebies section). So like me, if you have an Amex and can save a Tenner at these retailers, surely its hot. For everyone else, just ignore it.
Moreover, these Amex offers are independent of the store and their own offers. So for example I used the recent Amazon offer coupled with the £7 offer on a £30 Giftcard.

offers not great. Last month they had £10 off £70 spend at HOF. Also £10 off £50 at GAP. Yes I know that we don't have time machine, but just thinking these deals are not so great...
Cyrus
9 Nov 15#21
I did the same offer, only because it was a good one and not usual from Amazon.
Amex did give cash back on lower amounts - now its a lot high imo. Porbably because of the festive season

Yes, start with the platinum cashback fee card. Do a refer a friend or cashback site to cancel out the first year's fee of £25. After a year once you've had the cashback paid, cancel and switch to the fee free version. You'll probably get the intro 5% off a spend of ~£2k for the first three months for both.

Just an FYI for our non-Amex issued cardholders, at the moment the https://network.americanexpress.com/connect/uk/en/default.html page is only showing the House of Fraser and Gap offer (as well as the other older ones that always seem to be on there e.g. Armani Exchange and Darth Monica Vinader).

The others show when you follow direct links, see reply #2. However, looks like their may be some targeting of these offers to specific accounts, or they haven't gone fully live.

No idea what just happened. Normally I'm much savvier than that, and would click "Get Deal", trawl through comments to try and find the direct links if any and then google as a last resort. I seem to made a mis-step and will now sit on a mountain-top to think about what i've just done. Consider me chastised. (Right after I add the River Island offer to card...)

On its own this is not a bad Deal I have had American Express cards for many years and the deals are a lot poorer than they used to be there was lots of deals in the past that we spend £30 get £10 back but those deals are long gone if you intend to spend in their stores it's a deal if you used to use deals with American Express you will look at this and think it's rubbish
