Do we really need everyone to tell us what they're on??? its just making this deal messy.

For those that got good retentions deals years ago, well done. We get the picture, you are bad as... For those that are gonna join three in an attempt to get a good deal if you threaten to leave, good luck as it won't happen. Three retentions after the price hike are UTTERLY AWFUL.

True.
Though ater searching online for a few days and tethering my paltry data allowance which was running low I was planning on moving to the all you can eat £25 deal but couldn't find any info on the actual speed during traffic sense.
I'd hoped seeing as people in the thread was on 3 I'd ask about the speed not the deal before purchasing. I ran out if data waiting so just signed back with Virgin broadband instead.

Three are cheeky, they've had the SIMO 12m AYCE sim for £27 a month or on a rolling for £30.

They've just upped it to £30/£33. How convenient of them seen as black friday is just around the corner. Looks like they'll just be reducing the prices back to the normal £27/£30 for their top sim deals come black friday. They've also introduced a new plan which is 12GB data for £27.

So crafty three! looks like i wont be returning back to you lot after all.

I have a pay as you go sim with three. If I ordered this I'd get a new sim, can I move my existing number to the new contract?

I called three to ask. They weren't sure and said that I need to read the t&c's on the 3rd party website I'm ordering the sim from. I said I'm ordering it on the three site. They didn't understand me. So I thought I'd ask here. Thanks

Signed up through quidco on wens, sim came yesterday but no confirmation of tracking from Quidco for the 50 £ back. Anyone else had this ? I can raise a claim through quidco but from past experience no chance of ever seeing the £50 when prior claims have been denied for no reason, and now in 2 minds whether to use sim or cancel contract

You may be paying more for your real usage.
I too had the 15£ One Plan. Realised I'm paying more for what I'm really using. Switched to BT Mobile and now I'm saving 1/3rd cost of The One Plan.
Three will leave you on The One plan because its profitable for them having customers paying more for the usage.

March 2016 is the time limit for Three's One Plan to finish in the meantime lots of people are getting letters telling them they have to change to a different plan because it is finishing...you can leave and go to another provider or Three will put you on another tariff it's the way all networks are going it's to do away with Tethering You can still get Unlimited Data plans but No Provider will give you unlimited Tethering.
If you search One plan on google you will find loads of forums and people moaning about being moved.

This is VERY good timing! My EE 12 months is up in 3 weeks time. I have a OnePlus One handset so only EE or Three works (4G-wise).

I do live in London - in the suburbs - and get zero signal with EE indoors (except upstairs). Surely Three can't be any worse than that?! (Famous. Last. Words.).

That said, of course I have wifi at home (and at work) anyway so only want a semi-decent signal on the train commute to and from the office. There's LOADS of dark spots on the way with EE. As said, if Three is no better, I'm doing no worse than with EE, plus Three is cheaper and there's well-timed Quidco.

call 3 network today, to cancel my 2 contracts, on 1 number i was paying £27 with "The one Plan" (5000 min 3 to 3, 5000 texts, 2000 min any network, AYCED) ( it came with Samsung Galaxy S4), best offer i got from they today was sim only £15 Unlimited min, Unlimited texts and 8Gb Data (don't remember if it was rolling contract or 12 months contract)
asked for a PAC code, already received the PAC code by text.
On the 2 number was paying £11 Talk 900 (5000 min 3 to 3, unlimited text, 900 min any network, 1GB) + Add on £3 (unlimited internet) So Total of £14
The best i got was £11 (unlimited text, unlimited min any network, 4GB "with tethering") my wife was happy with this since she never used more than 3GB Data over the last 12 months, so i accept it.

Lets see if 3 will call or not tomorrow lol.

PS: the guy on the phone told they don't offer the unlimited data add on £3. Is that true?

These deals are all beatable. I have 20Gb tetherable data and unlimited calls + texts for £10 per month on a 12 month contract - that's just £120. I got it in January so could easily beat it now but I can't use what I've got and £10 with full tethering is a hoot! You just need to ask for your PAC code and wait 24 hours for them to call you in a panic offering you the earth. Honestly, don't bother looking at any deals anywhere - there is only one proper retention team in any mobile company and that's the one that has to give your PAC code over to a rival company m - if they haven't got that "****-you" instruction from you they won't offer you the best deals.
Good Luck and please feedback any success on this method. I've been with Vodafone for 15 years and always say I'll swap but they never let me due to the final offer being so ridiculously cheap for my "gold customer" loyalty lol !!! They need customers to keep their share price up so will lose money on some in order to have a high customer base.

So it seems the best way is to sign upto a monthly contract and then after a month threaten to leave and they will offer you something better? Which you then refuse and then after 2 weeks they will again offer you something even better?

Has anyone ever had any luck with getting these retention deals as it seems everytime I call up I do speak to someone in the UK who will not ever budge a penny. So is this all bull or simply the luck of the draw when it comes to getting a good deal.

maybe not, but I tethered a couple of gb in Australia in January using the £15 PAYG unlimited data sim that is now £20.
I think tethering limits only really effect iphones and phones bought on contract from 3 (but I could be wrong). we buy a new PAYG sim for every holiday but we aren't massive data users, so they let people tether a couple of gb here and therewon PAYG.

never accept a deal when you phone up to cancel it. they phone you up before the month runs out with a good deal ,knock that back and you will get a call a week/2 before your termination date with a one off deal ! works EVERY TIME... 6 years and counting ! with 4 contracts. you can even ask them outright and ask for discount on top of discount. its amazing what they can do... when canceling make sure you say the reason is you cant afford it, and DONT take the offer they will offer you there and then . patience is a virtue ... and you needed it just reading this

I pay £12.99 for this deal, 30 day rolling contract. How? I bought it 3 years ago... **** inflation
Gollywood
11 Nov 15 #95
I know it's not related but I got a good deal off TalkTalk.

Had 3 sim only contracts with them all ending next month.

300 mins/unlimited texts/600mb data

The 50% discount was due to end in Dec so I'd be paying £8/mon instead of £4.

After a bit of negotiating, now got 1,300 mins/unltd texts/ 2.6GB data for all 3 contracts for £3.95/month

Anyone 'upgraded' from a normal PAYG Three SIM to a 1 or 12 month contract and get it less than the advertised rate? Take it you just ring and ask what they can do?!
sdduk2 to duckson
11 Nov 15 #94
It's just pot luck if you get a good deal from Three and what custom service rep you get but no harm trying to get a deal.
The worst they can say is No
neal
11 Nov 15 #93
Probably not, they did give us warning when the original plan was stopping and a lot of contracts including me jumped ship on the advice given at the time to the only viable alternative. EE keep throwing away 100g bundles maybe it will come around again in the future. #fingerscrossed

No March 2016 is when it finishes...Like you said you have had a good deal and you still could have it another 6mths yet but you could get a letter from them in between now and march a lot of people have already been taken off it.
My son had it till he went and upgraded his phone and then they took it away still got a good deal from them unlimited everything plus 8gb tethering basicly just lost the unlimited tethering.

11 Nov 15 #90
Are sim only contracts the only way to go these days? Mobile contracts seem way more expensive than 2 years ago.

Also memo to EE: if you upgrade to 4G you tend to use MORE data. Not less as their prices suggest.
Sherlocked221

How is this possible?

11 Nov 15 #86
How come you all get such good deals?! I've been on a sim only plan for about 18 months now, it was originally for a year, and I get 600 mins/unltd texts/1GB of data for £9.90. I need more minutes though and a bit more data wouldn't go a miss, thing is every time I ring up and mention leaving they more or less say okay :disappointed:

I think the 'best' I've been offered is about £18 - that's too high for me, I'd like to keep it under £15 if I could? Any tips for me when I get them on the phone?

I can't fault them as a network, their customer service is excellent in my experience!

Looking at the this after being threatened to be shoved off the T-Mobile £13.25 2000 mins & unl data deal . only thing is three had poor reception in my area and my friend was round the other day who had no reception on his three contract . funny thing is the three coverage checker shows limited 4g but good indoor and outdoor 3g coverage so I'm wondering could I sign this and threaten to leave and if I get given a much better deal with better minutes etc would I still get quidco ?

No quidco or anything like that if you'd apply order over phone

I get free 3 to 3 calls

I was with Three for 3+ years getting unlimited data on PAYG at £15 - when they upped that to £20 this summer I moved to EE, where I got the £15 4GB data Student deal - turns out (1) 4GB is enough, (2) EE customer service is awful and (3) EE 4G signal and speed turned out to be better than Three anyway. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good news, sadly they don't offer the £10 PAYG data SIM with £12.50 cashback like they did a couple years ago, getting paid £2.50 to buy a data SIM each month was nice

Damn you win lol. I was told by people on here well over a year ago that they were going to discontinue this but nothing. All good, long may it continue. Don't think I'll bother phoning for the £1 discount incase they cancel it. Tell me, is it possible to ask for a nano sim as I have an iphone 4S but I just bought an unlocked iphone 6S. Is it possible for them to give me a nano sim on the same contract if I change phone.
