Just picked up a 2.5 horsepower air compressor from Aldi for £44.99.
Had a quick look and similar compressor on screwfix is over £100.
Saw it was posted previously at £49.99 but looks like a further drop.

Mine works just fine and has for years. Take your worthless prejudice elsewhere.

Or buy cheap and use once, like most of the gadgets and impulse purchases in my house.

Nothing like that in ours but I did get some steel toe capped workman boots for £8

These things would barely run the air tools they're selling...

More pulling power than her Fiat 500. It might even get up a hill.

No.
Normal piston / rings and wet sump. Not a bad machine though.

Lots of half price reductions at all Aldi stores local to me but they are store specific and a half price item can be full price at a nearby store so beware. Would help if OP stated where this deal was found!

Considering the starting current its probably as large a machine as you would want to run off a 13amp plug.
Regarding reliability I had one on a test rig requiring air 24hrs a day supply running for 4 days at 8bar flat out and its still being used occasionally.

Some people are just clueless, Nothing wrong with this compressor what so ever, Maybe you should buy one exactly the same for twice the price, Just under a different name if it makes you feel better, Unless your gonna spend hundreds on a big 500 litre 3 phase monster of a compressor, This is all you will ever need.
Had mine for 4 or 5 years, used it loads, Paint my sheds and fences every year, Use the nail gun more times than I ever thought I would need to, Blowing up the air beds when people come to stay, It's one of them things that you don't realise how useful they are until you have one

The cheapest 2.5 horsepower one in Screwfix is £199.00.
This Aldi one looks good value in my opinion.

24 litre tank? It's a good job you only blow air beds up with it. How are you supposed to run an air gun with it or spray? It'll just be running flat out and getting nowhere.

It is not meant for a professional spray job you wally, it's a CHEAP diy tool, that is why it is less than fifty quid.......JEEZ!
Only a spanner would try to spray all day with it. (Enter stage left)
Given my motor trade experience of car spraying, i always assumed not less than a 15 cfm output compressor is the bare minimum, but a rating of over 24 cfm is favoured by people who spray all day, Good luck at finding a good 24 cfm output machine for less than £500.......ten times the price.
This Aldi machine for 49 quid is a bargain, forget this guys mumblings.
