I quite fancy one of these: http://www.airfix.com/uk-en/handley-page-victor-b2-1-72.html but as a pre order, it's obviously not in any sale and £55 for a model seems pretty steep. Plus the Mrs will kill me if I buy any more airfix models, I've got a fair few with a grand total of zero made!

A cracker. Got the Revell/Matchbox kit somewhere, love the Victor. And it was designed in the early/mid 50's !!! ps estimated arrival is 30/11/2016 :-(

So you felt the need to insult everybody else also? I'm not sure what your issue is, in an age where millions of people sit on the couch all day shooting Russians in the face on Call of duty etc, this kind of hobby that teaches some genuine skills and even social interaction should probably be encouraged rather than mocked.

They added some new lines yesterday. RE: the post about getting out more, fresh air is good as it exercise (and I'd recommend both as one of the best things you can do to improve your health), but on a cold winters night that's not always practical.

I built models with my father, the skills I learnt as a kid doing that have translated very nicely to DIY nowadays and as a result I rarely have to pay trades people to undertake work for me. So for kids I see no harm in these, they're quite educational, as is the history behind some of the planes. For an adult (who spends most of their day in front of a PC for work) not looking at a screen of some variety is quite refreshing I'd imagine.
