After Burner Climax was removed from PlayStation Network & Xbox Live on December 16th 2014. The only way you can get the game now is by finding a redeemable code - and they aren't exactly common.
This is the last After Burner game Sega have released & it has since been removed because of licensing issues to do with the planes (fighter jets) as far as I remember.
Usually pops up every now & then on Shopto.net & for £6.49 it's great value. A great follow up to the first 2 After Burner games with awesome simple & addictive gameplay. Originally released as an arcade cabinet in 2006.
Usually sells out pretty fast.

If I had a PS3 I'd be all over this like a rash. Afterburner was my era of gaming. Along with Outrun and Operation Wolf.

I never played them in the arcade (I'm not as old as you haha). Well, tell a lie, I've had quite a few goes on Outrun cabinets.
Still play my Sega Ages on Saturn at least 3 times a week. Mainly for the perfect Arcade port of Outrun! ^_^

Sega Ages, good times.. that game lived permanently in my saturn.
Yea, I redeemed the code on the playstation website but you can redeem it on PS3 as well.
I have just downloaded the game. You just to go recent downloads on your PS3 under account management & it will be there!
Edit: I meant go to download management.

So you buy on Shopto and they send you a code?
Then you input that code on the playstation store and redeem that way?
(sorry, never bought a code for anything before?!)

When I purchased it I then went to 'My Account' (on the shopto.net site) then click on 'Orders' then click on your 'After Burner Climax order', lastly there should be a redeem code option there. Redeem code on your PS3 under account management when signed into PSN. Then download it under download management.

Ahh, Chase HQ. Probably my favourite arcade game of all time. Spent an entire family holiday to Haggerston Castle as a young boy dominating that game. It was the best of times.

Haha I haven't had one since release! I was only 5 when they came out (1995?) I have had it a few years - it's been modified for region free & 50/60hz though so probably had a few parts changed!

Ah righty. I remember my mate paying something like £300 for one, it was sexy as hell.

Would be all over this but the PS3 doesn't exactly let you own the game as it'd do on a 360. Still it's a great deal.

My PS3 60GB is still solid as a rock. And equally as heavy as one would be also.

I think I payed £3.50 for it in 2011 when PSN had its January sale..it's a good game.ofcourse I bought it because I was a fan of After Burner 2.one cool thing about it is that you can choose to play the original music instead on the modern music.

Definite heat added for something that was removed from sale! Now, if only an outrun code would pop up....

Aye that is a bummer they removed that. I did search for that too but nothing came up! I guess the codes have expired... and the online won't work anyway.
Sega has so many awesome IP's just sitting gathering dust. OutRun, Skies of Arcadia, Crazy Taxi, Panzer Dragoon, Otogi, Gunvalkyrie, Jet Set Radio, GunStar Heroes, the list is endless! They made a new Bayonetta recently which was awesome but other than that it's just 3D classics on 3DS, Total War & Hatsune Miku games haha.
