I saw a good deal on vodafone but apparently BT use their signal, so I'd be in the same boat.

Same here, 40% BT but 80% EE according to their coverage checker. Amazed there are parts of cities that BT hasn't got completely nailed down after all these years.

Coverage next to useless for me so sadly until they integrate EE which does have good coverage in my area I'm out. Hope it works out for the rest of you.

This has changed to £10/month but with 3GB instead! Don't forget £42 TCB. Works out to be £6.50/month after cashback!!

I use an iPhone and the option simply isn't there in Settings. It may be possible with Android, but I'm not sure.

I headed over to BT and found very long threads in the community discussion forums bemoaning the fact that BT justifies it on the basis it "doesn't want users to exhaust their allowance". Most people seem to find out after signing up.

A couple of other things irritate - one is the wifi assist SmartTalk. I thought it allowed a VOIP service when the mobile signal was poor, often the case for me, but essentially it routes over your BT wifi but charges at the landline rate which is separate from the inclusive call minutes and inconvenient. I've just "banned" myself from using in their console. :smiley:

I'm one day in and about to cancel - just found out I can't (occasionally) tether to this SIM which makes it useless for me. Can't believe this is an issue for telcos's 2015...

I've just signed up for this and it's tracked as £35 through quidco. So...
£96 (for the year) - £20 (voucher) - £35 (cash back) = £41 / 12 = £3.42 a month.
Ok so a voucher isn't cash but a stonking deal me thinks.

I've just got a car which has a built in WiFi hotspot feature (Land Rover Discovery Sport). I have to put a SIM card in it. I'm assuming it would be a data only SIM (or could it be any but data only is cheaper)? I don't plan to use it much but would like to try it out. Any idea what's the best deal without having to commit to a long contract? I've seen some on here at a one off price for a certain fixed amount of data - does that have to be used up in a fixed period?

Any advice appreciated.

It's only a 12 month's contract so chances are it will go up to the usual price, but for 12 months it seems a bargain and by the end of the contract BT & ee will probably just the one company anyway?

I work for BT and loads of my colleagues have ported over with no problems. My son changed to them a few months ago and ported his number from virgin quite easily.

So then for non BT customers its

13*12 = 156 - (40 + 20) = 96/12 = 8

So still 8 quid a month - assuming the cashback is paid and of course in-effect you still pay for the 20 quid voucher of amazon or iTunes.
