Samsung 32GB Micro SD for £5.65 delivered. Thought it might be useful for anyone already ordering some items from them. I tend to stick to UK sellers for memory cards, but it does seem pretty cheap.

Fastest way to tell if it is a fake is that GENUINE EVO CARDS HAVE WHITE SIDES. All the fakes I have seen have black sides. There are a number of apps you can install that will tell you the true capacity and manufacturer of your card.
As for Gearbest. I have received a bunch of stuff from them without issue. Usually takes a couple of weeks, though coming from China this time of the year may take a month.

Personally, I would say stick with a UK supplier when it comes to things like this. The likelihood of getting any potential issues resolved will be easier. That said, I've purchased from Gearbest just recently and the product has arrived, works but didn't exactly match it's description.
Also remember if it does turn out to be a fake, how much will it cost for you to return it to China ( it will have to be via a registered method otherwise they will swear they never received it). Make sure you backup your data daily just in case it fails - which it will !!
One last thing, when it comes to checking the serial in terms of warranty, its well known that some fake manufacturers are able to create what appears to be genuine serial numbers. Aliexpress had numerous clone Galaxy Note 4 for sale supplied with serial numbers which, when checked on the Samsung website appeared genuine but of course the phone was fake.

I can't believe that this deal is still up on here let alone that it has got hot. Pay £3 more and get it from 7dayShop or some other UK supplier.

12 Nov 15#46
That's not all they do. They also check the speed of read/writes. If both the capacity and speeds seem okay, then it's more likely to be a genuine one rather than a fake.
Other than that if people need to be 100% certain, then you would need to ring the mfg up with the serial number.
As I mentioned in the deal description, I tend to buy memory cards (and generally all data storage) from reputable UK retailers. Mainly because of delivery times, but reading some Amazon reviews, even they can turn out to be fake. I posted the deal because I know lots of people do use Gearbest and it's not the end of the world if adding something like this to an existing order.

Gearbest delivery was late, then went abroad for a few days and missed the delivery

All those apps do is check if the actual capacity is legit. The majority of fakes are the correct capacity so while it's not a bad thing to do, it doesn't by any means guarantee a memory card is genuine.
The margins on memory cards are very small, so if one store has a big discount compared even to other Chinese sellers, I would stay away personally.

On the back-side is a serial number, so I rung our account manager and got them to check it's legitimate (which is what you'd do in the event of warranty claim anyway). You might be able to do it online but I didn't try this. It also passes with H2testw for full capacity and at the expected speeds for read/write.
Sounds like a lot of people out here want it to be fake, I'm not sure why, because they have buyer's remorse over paying more, a bad experience with Gearbest, it's hard to say. After all that anyway, it's a £5 card so it isn't the end of the world. And regardless of where you buy from, like topss, you might as well just test it because even proven genuine cards can be DOA.

I also have a collection of Samsung Micro SD cards. Two of them are a slightly different colour to the others. Look similar to this one. All were purchased via Amazon themselves, not a 3rd party seller. I usually check all cards with the Android app 'SD Insight' or with 'H2testw'. All seemed to check out as they should. I actually soak test/check all storage media before use so it's just part of my purchasing process.
It may well be a fake, but not sure how anyone could make that call just by looking at that one picture.
With regards to the picture, it's probably just a low res stock one, I doubt they list items by taking individual pictures each time.

Could do with a deal being posted for this memory card from a reputable seller ( the proper Samsung cards are very good)

how do you know they are fakes? different markets can have slightly different cards
plenty of pics are photoshopped etc so dont really look like they do in real life anyway so on that basis youd expect fakes from many places
that said i probably wouldnt get it seeing as they are under a tenner from uk fairly regularly and you'd get it much faster
iirc there was a thread years ago with people crying about cards and it was shown that the cards were different on the official taiwanese arm of the site etc

Ordered an IP camera from them, they used Yodel and the parcel was inevitably lost. Now they will only repay 40%. Moral of the story, pay for insurance and be prepared for a lost parcel. Yodel even had the gaul to say the parcel was delivered, even though I was abroad.

I can honestly say that over the past year every single thing I’ve ordered from China and eventually turned up has ranged from a disappointment to a total and outright fraud. The latest turned up yesterday and it was purported to be a 1280x720 HD-SDI camera from the lying thieves “qualityzoneonline” in Shenzhen, China. They will insist it is a problem with my cables. The block camera itself is fairly heavy and therefore will cost more to send back than the unit cost. I screwed a video lens onto it and plugged power in and hooked it up to my Blackmagic H.264 Pro Recorder and saw the input was not 720p but 480, and that there was no video output, simply a banded black and green raster occupying part of the frame — no video is sent. They are just all liars and thieves, those Chinese traders. All of them. All those cheap Chinese online shops are simply liars and thieves. I will refuse to buy anything direct from China from now on. It’s never a satisfactory experience, and always money wasted.

It probably wouldn't.
If you want to risk it then pay by PP and do what I did and raise a claim after waiting for two months, ignore their emails asking you to cancel the PP process and just wait for the dispute to settle in your favour for a refund, after PP confirmed that the tracking number they provided was not valid.
Buy with caution or better still do not buy from them at all.
Sorry OP but cold from me.
