The idiots at Tesco just tried to deliver 5 bottles of Chateau neuf du pape instead of the six I ordered. No substitution at all. Of course I had to send them away but now have missed the offer completely! Similar screw up last time I ordered one of their offers for delivery.

Yes, Just got my Parra Alta Malbec for £3.75 with the discount tonight(After finding it hidden behind some pinot grigio in a box). Well pleased. I must say though that some of the wines I like in the £5-£6 bracket(Especially Malbec) were not on the shelves where they normally are and even the shelf talkers were missing. Does this mean they have mysteriously sold out or removed while offer is on?? Hmmmmm...... Happy with finding the Parra Alta

No it is automatic.
Been and got 6 bottles of red, they are no longer doing the 25% off the original price only the discounted one. Shame.

Sainsbury's 25% of six bottles sale starts tomorrow too.
And they're not forcing you to buy their most expensive wines either - even £2.50 bottles are included (not that I'd recommend buying that cheap!)
yes it is, but the 25% discount when u buy 6 bottles comes off first from past experience so effectively works out at £2.60 a bottle after all the discount
FREEZIN WOLF
22 Nov 15#28
10% off £4 is £3.60 surely?
svizor
22 Nov 15#27
im no expert was only guessing but if u worked at tescos u get 10% discount before the offer, so £4 bottle of wine will cost you £2.60 that's close to the minimum you state but I don't know the laws and rules just know a mate that works there and will pick up some booze for me!:-)

21 Nov 15#26
Will existing offers apply with the 25% off?
dck
21 Nov 151#25
No, it's just Tesco being stingy. The minimum a shop can sell a 700ml bottle of wine @ up to 14.5% alcohol is currently £2.30 - according to this governent website:
They put the price of £4+ wines up just before they do this offer and also remove any existing discounts/offers.
Before they introduced this minimum bottle price, you could get some semi-decent prices. But these days, it's just smoke and mirrors.

offer is getting worse imo. I'm sure it never used to be excluded under £4.04. was £3 previously and sainsburys don't do that when they run a similar event.

I think it's to comply with the government law on banning the sale of alcohol below the cost of duty plus VAT. As its to do with the strength of the wine they have to compensate for the strongest wine they have on sale. that is why it's £4.04 I am only guessing though sainsburys might be able to do it lower as they may not have wine as strong as tescos (tescos has more lines 600 more than asda sorry it stuck with me that fact)

Other offers which start on Wednesday are clearly stated online, but no sign of this one.
Anyway, all academic as they changed the T&C of the scheme after the new law came into place last year.
