Coca cola isn't necessarily unhealthy, people are unhealthy.
If you buy 24 cans and they last you 2 months, no harm done. Its possible to drink a can in a day and be under your RDA of sugar. Believe it or not, brushing you teeth has also been proven to be very effective of stopping the rot.
If you, or your kid, are fat with no teeth, thats on you. You can't blame a drink.

Take a 500ml bottle of coke and pour it into an empty 2l bottle. Use the 500ml bottle to add 1 litre of water. Pour back the mixture into your 500ml bottle and save the rest for later. I suspect it will taste foul though.

You are suggesting that the reason people drink coke is down to marketing and I disagree. It seems you don't understand why people would drink coke when the most obvious and likely solution is simply that they enjoy the taste.
I'm not saying marketing is ineffective but marketing tends to only change market share, it doesn't increase market size like you are suggesting. The only exception to this is when a brand new product is released. For example, if there were more adverts and marketing for toilet paper, sales of toilet paper wouldn't change significantly but if the marketing was for a brand, they might gain more customers as people switch from other brands.

Have more heat..
No wonder there is an obese person within every 50 yards today.
It's ****, it's addictive, that's why they offer it cheap. If only you could be transported back to the 50s and 60s and have the 'real' Coke in the good ol' green glass bottles, you'd never, ever touch today's ****.
In those days there was hardly an obese person in 500 miles.
Carry on drinking it ...fools!
Got 48 cans as I drink one a day with a big slice of cake at lunchtime , thoroughly enjoy it, am not overweight and intend to die happy
Coke life is the next best alternative. Or enjoy diet/zero, or even full sugar, in moderation without worrying about what you may have read. :stuck_out_tongue:
Advertising and marketing doesn't force you to do or buy anything. Just because I saw an advert for dog food, doesn't mean I'm going to go buy some.
The reason that people get fat is that calories in > calories out, simples. Not because they eat this, that or whatever. Feel free to consume your daily allowance of calories in lard and be fine.
So, my special trip in the car this afternoon to buy a couple of packs (Diet and Zero) was worthwhile.
Have some heat...!
