I have put this trip together that visits Slovenia and Croatia – there is also the opportunity to add on additional visits to Sarajevo/Bosnia or Montenegro if you extend your time, you can rejig this itinerary to suit. I could have gone on for a few weeks, but tried to contain it to two.
I’ve picked great rated places to stay, but also budget friendly. You could surely reduce the price further with Airbnb, but I know not everyone is comfortable using that, but the places I’ve all picked come with good reviews and ratings. One way of reducing the cost is with the hire car, as I’ve included the price for a hire car all the way from Slovenia to Split, but if you wanted to save on costs of one way rentals, you could return this in Slovenia and use public transport to get to Croatia where you could hire a car again. This would save on one way rentals. It is also possible to do the same again, hire a car in Dubrovnik for the day and go to Montenegro. I did consider ending the trip in Montenegro rather than Dubrovnik (flights a similar price), however this would have added a few extra days on to explore Kotor, etc, and I thought it may be pushing it, but that’s some ideas to go on anyway. . . .
As you are flying with Wizzair and Norweigan hold luggage is not included, also be aware of the different London airports you fly in and out of as one is Luton and one Gatwick.
12/04/2016
Fly Wizzair, arriving into Ljubljana early morning, collect car and overnight at Hotel Park Ljubljana which has parking.
13/04/2016
2 Full day in Ljubljana, explore city. Overnight in Ljublijana.
14/04/2015
Drive to Lake Bled, overnight at Lake Bled at Alp Pension. In Bled there are plenty of activities you can do such as rafting or swimming (depending on the weather). Well worth visiting Bled Castle and the nearby Vintgar Gorge.
15/04/2016
Drive through the Karst and Piran to Rovinj, overnight in Rovinj at Apartments Romano.
16/04/2016
Tour nearby Istria as a suggestion, overnight in Rovinj again (or you could overnight in Istria, but I think it’s better to stay in one place).
17/04/2016
Drive from Rovinj to Plitvice Lakes via Pula, overnight in Plitvice. You could overnight in Pula, depending on your interests, but as it’s only about 40 minutes away, I’d recommend going straight to Plitvice Lakes. Overnight at Turist Grabovac.
18/04/2016
Full day in Plitvice to explore the wonderful lakes. Overnight again at Turist Grabovac.
19/04/2016
Leave Plitvice Lakes and drive to Split (2 1/2 hours via Zadar). Again, option here to overnight, but depends on how long you want away. Drop the hire car back in Split, and overnight in Split at Andrea Villa.
20/04/2016
Full day in Split, overnight in Split at Andrea Villa.
21/04/2016
Take Ferry to Hvar as a foot passenger (no cars allowed). Overnight in Hvar at Teo Apartments.
22/04/2016
Full day in Hvar, overnight in Hvar at Teo Apartments.
23/04/2016
Hvar to Korcula on the ferry as a foot passenger, overnight in Korcula at Accommodation Drasko.
24/04/2016
Full day in Korcula. Overnight in Korcula at Accommodation Drasko.
25/04/2016
Take the 6:45am bus to Dubrovnik (I don’t think the direct ferry will be operating in April). The bus is not much and will take just under 2 ½ hours. Arrive in Dubrovnik late morning. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
26/04/2016
Full day in Dubrovnik - possibility to go to Montenegro, or extend your trip here and find one way flights from Montenegro back to UK.
27/04/2016
Fly from Dubrovnik back to UK.

The way i get around is always book front seats so first on and first off travel extremely light no waiting on the dreaded carousel or seeing if my luggage has gone elsewhere.Depending on passport queues normally out of airport straight away ,depending on where i am buy some cheap clothing ie t shirts etc if going to be hidden under a coat and after use just dispose of them.Always play by the rules of the cheaper airlines if flying with them.Enjoy the experience.

Very good deal and excellent breakdown of pricing. Doing something similar next year in May and can't wait, especially for Lake Bled, Dubrovnik and Platvice forest and lakes. Shame flights from Edinburgh are much more and less flexible (Dubrovnik the only option).
Voted hot.

saw the word drive and didn't read the rest of the description - I go on holiday to avoid driving! But heat added for effort - are you the new Stacey?

Well done and nicely presented too, might have indicated baggage allowance on the flights? 15 Nights out of a carry on bag?

Hand luggage only. Will amend, I never add it in but that's from someone who travels, in the main, with a large backpack or just carry-on. I travel light.
