Just for those commenting on carbon bike parts.........I've bought loads, handlebars, wheels, stems, seat posts and as long as you buy from a recommended seller (as you would in eBay) the products are fine and I fact those sellers are on eBay too. I have bought 3 sets of carbon wheels, the first I've had for over 3 years with no problems and having had them checked recently as the bike shop they compared them to a set of zips in terms of build quality. Probably not as aerodynamic but at my standard of cycling not half bad for the price. Plus they arrived in the UK in four days, before taken two weeks to get through customs!!!! Delivered by parcelforce and fully trackable.

I find it quite annoying when that link, on its own, is used as the response to a question.
It doesn't answer the question, it's slower than answering the question, or even linking directly to the Google search, and also delays or prevents other people learning the answer. It is particularly annoying when the thread the response is used in happens to be one of the first or few relevant results on Google, suggesting that the response comes from a person who knows the answer and yet doesn't give it.
Even Google itself has started to answer questions faster with Google Instant and directly, including this case (mandy = ecstasy).
I'm all for people learning to use Google (and other search engines), especially when the would otherwise not have a problem solved or find a lesser solution. I would suggest using Google when a one word or single sentence answer would deprive people of alternate perspectives, tips and tricks and novel solutions available on the web, simply because they didn't think to search.

Back on topic, I had assumed sellers had raised prices prior to this event, to make the prices look more attractive, so I have tried to look at actual prices and ignore supposed drops in price.
My usual routine is to limit products to those with free shipping, then sort by orders to get an idea, from the first page or few pages, of what the popular items are and what normal prices are, then sort by price and look for the lowest price that seems within reason.
Edit: This has been expired even though it seems like it is still active. This may be because Aliexpress uses Pacific Standard Time, which is 8 hours behind us.

Looking at the kids football kits - I'm confused how to get the correct colour choice? When I click on each picture it gives really odd colours, how does it work? Sorry if I'm missing something but any advice would be appreciated.

Are there any good (preferably UK buyers) Aliexpress forums out there? It's such a minefield as you don't know if you're going to get something shoddy or amazing - this is my personal experience, anyway.
This is what things cost to make a profit on. There are things we've bought on here we've seen in the shops for 4x the price. It's not all tat, just not retail prices
For anyone with kids into football. Get footbsll strips on it. They are great cannot tell the difference cone with all logos and labels and you can get the top and shorts for about £9 delivered. Just search kids football kit

If you are into your bikes and frequent cycling forums you will see there a number of people using carbon fibre bikes without problems, there is a lot of cycling products that have been tested by people in the uk. I wouldn't scare monger without specific proof, I remember when you could get "oakleys" and they said they were good actually and that the lenses were actually better than most cheap sunglasses. and if you wanted you could put proper Oakley lenses in the frames and be sorted for cheap! there are compromises but there is still a lot of really good things,

I don't mind buying Chinese for (non-critical) electronics and toys but 'carbon bike parts' are a massive no-no, the QC is not the same as ours and if you've ever seen a carbon fracture and subsequent accident you would never do this (see Rip-off Britain or similar). A lot of the carbon stuff will be factory-seconds or copies and just imagine when you have most of your weight on the handlebars or wheel and it collapses.

My sister is obsessed with Aliexpress...she's bought watches, handbags etc. It's been a mixed bag for me, one ladies watch I got on a whim which was supposed "automatic" movement wasn't, was XL men's size, and the seller had rather cheekily nicked the photos of the item from a current ebay US listing! Threw a dispute at them.
