Tesco Bank have extended the length of their balance transfer credit card to 21 months which has no fee. Good if you have outstanding balances on other cards that you want to move over
Quidco has a possible £30 and see comment 1 for potential offer stack
p.s. The AA credit card has just launched a 0% balance transfer card for 22 months with no fee

Took the plunge and accepted with a balance transfer limit I'm totally happy with.

Similar here: tracked, declined, tracked, declined, tracked, declined for more than five months.
I applied online but was not automatically accepted. I heard nothing from Tesco at all until a credit card arrived in the post about two weeks later. My credit limit was £2300, £300 more than the transfer I was asking for, Perhaps the delay was why I won't receive the Quidco cash back.

"As long as you budget properly". That's the problem right there  . I totally agree though, if you're paying interest on a CC you're on a slippery slope, get out of it asap.
As long as you budget properly and pay on time and clear in 0% offer time frame there should never be a need to pay any interest regardless of APR of the card.

Amazes me people happily pay interest every month on a credit card, so many 0% deals out there even with a transfer fee beats paying interest!

4 Nov 15#67
Very true, although many of these offers are unavailable if you don't have a good credit record and reasonable income. Tesco are (or at least used to be) quite difficult to get accepted with. If everyone could get decent credit cards those regulated loan sharks (Wonga) wouldn't exist.

I took out the card earlier in the year and within a week for some reason the cashback was declined - got onto Quidco livechat and they credited me the cashback instantly. Then by chance another transaction tracked and actually got a 2nd payout of cashback.
I also managed to get 2000 clubcard bonus points , as at that time they were running a 1000 bonus points for signing up to the card and I also did the refer a friend bonus for another 1000 points.

Where can you apply for AA? Nothing on their site mentioning new offer. Link?
Increased minimum spend from £4 to £8 from 1st Nov to earn 1 lousy point on all non Tesco purchases. This has pushed me to Asda Money credit card. 1% cashback at Asda and 0.5% everywhere else PLUS contactless cards. Sorry but Tesco credit card is now a cold deal unless you only shop at Tesco
Chanchi32 to cjdean1983
3 Nov 15#57
This card and deal is for borrowing and isn't about rewards e.g. if you have a balance and want to shift it for interest free without a fee for 21 months
If you want a decent rewards credit card go for Amex. Personally wouldn't have gone for the Asda card as pretty sure they will be reducing their rewards soon like all non Amex issuers due to the interchange regulations coming in at the end of this year.

May be a silly question...
I've got over £3k on my Barclaycard.
This Tesco card only allows a transfer of up to £1600, so I've signed up and requested a transfer of £1600.
Could I now sign up to the AA card and transfer the rest on to that?
Or would that massively mess with my credit rating?

3 Nov 15#44
Its a confusing one that always gets me i guess too many applications close together can have a slight dent to your credit rating so best move would of been to **** the 3k bal trfr using another card that allows that. They say you anything above 30%

3 Nov 15#40
You don't need to be employed but you do need to have a personal income of at least £5000 a year. They will likely ask you to prove where your income is coming from.
You can only transfer a balance from a card in your name.
You can, but not interest free so it's not recommended.

3 Nov 15#37
I agree that they make it confusing on purpose! Yeah, essentially you're moving money about to minimize repayments, which lets you have more cash about in your interest earning bank accounts.
In my example, I keep my Lloyds card because it earns me Avios, but you don't have to. Just find something which is right for you. For me the Lloyds duo Avios is great because I get to earn Avios and use it for overseas transactions at great rates
Gr1zz1y89
3 Nov 15#36
Firstly, thanks very much for your time in replying. I just stuggle to grasp credit cards, they seem so confusing (deliberately, I presume). I think I understand ha, so you are essentially shifting debt from one pool to another, whilst minimalising any repayments? Would you keep the Lloyds credit card account open or would you simply transfer credit/debt to Tesco and close the Lloyds account?
nickann1
3 Nov 151#35

Can someone please explain to me why 21 months of zero percent balance transfer is a bonus? Does it relate to how long I would have to pay any credit card purchases back? Thanks in advance
peppermintt to Gr1zz1y89
3 Nov 151#32
Say I have a £1000 balance on my Lloyds credit card that I have to pay off by the end of the month. This deal lets me transfer this £1000 to the Tesco card and only have to make the minimum payment on it for 21 months. Hence the £1000 that I was actually going to use to pay off my Lloyds credit card can now be earning me interest at 5% in my TSB account (about £50 annually). At the end of 21 months, I pay off whatever is left on the Tesco card or transfer that balance elsewhere.
Also you probably shouldn't be using the card to make purchases as these won't be interest free. Find an interest free purchases card or one that earns you points or Avios for purchases instead.
Hope that helps
