So I was looking at the scorching hot Xiaomi powerbank deal (link below in case anyone missed it) and checked for the MiBand and found them for £9.72 delivered, price stated as for today as think it fluctuates a little every day due to conversion.
Save a whole 6p as of 16/10 as now £9.66!
Link for the power bank: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/original-xiaomi-power-bank-10000mah-silver-free-shipping-now-7-93-banggood-2296245)
Reviews on their site give it 4.5/5 from 491 reviews. Numerous other reviews out there that rate this highly, and they were mostly done at the higher prices!
This is with the black band, additional bands in various colours are available for £3.28 each: http://www.banggood.com/Original-Colorful-Xiaomi-Miband-Bracelet-Wrist-Strap-p-951981.html
Think this is a no brainer if you are thinking of getting a band or tracker. If you don't like or decide you want a better band/tracker then it it's no major loss, if you're happy and want to keep it result as it is cheap as chips (in an expensive restaurant!)
I'm assuming it is the IP67 version, if so link to the mi.com:
The differences between Colorful LED and White LED Version:
1. All new white indication lights update : Xiaomi Bracelet indication light color changed to bright white.
2. Size of Packing box, height reduced: The white LED is 97mm*97mm*31.3mm,compared with the colorful LED previous version 97mm*97mm*67mm.

4..Size of getting started is changed: The new version is 83mm * 61mm,compared with the previous version 74mm * 74mm.

I bought 3 of these. 1 for me and Mrs then my sister wanted 1 too. I used mine quite a bit....very low power consumption and track well. but without a doubt there was always a discrepancy of about 1000 steps between mine and the wife's (we swapped) but over a long walk mine and sisters were fine. then the tracker fell out of the band somewhere in Torquay and eventually I replaced it with the wife's as she got annoyed with the accuracy on hers and she stopped using hers.
then last month my sisters stopped registering with her phone and won't register now no matter what I try.
so for me these were initially good for the money but you do risk loosing the centre tracker part from the band and question the longevity of them. under a tenner they are certainly worth a go even at least to see if you will bother with it.
sleep tracker was accurate but u don't need a device to tell u of u have had a carp nights sleep.

Excuse my ignorance ...does this work with a Nokia windows phone. Anybody know ?
Yes it will work - there are two windows apps available, one called Bind Mi Band and one called Mi Band Companion which both work although the latter had some functions which weren't enabled. Can't remember exactly which as it was a while ago but think it might have been the deep sleep measurement function...

Yes, there are a couple of third party apps that work with it absolutely fine. Not as much details as the iOS and android ones, but still works fine.

There are a few third party apps for it on Windows Phone. In beta mainly. Variable reliability in my experience.
Note that for Android it must be 4.4 onwards. The app won't work with 4.2.

If you've updated to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) please be aware that there are many reports in the Google Play store that the tracking and sync doesn't work.
No doubt Xiaomi will put out a fix at some point for the app, but just wanted to raise it so people are aware that it isn't working atm.

I have a Nexus 5 and updated to Marshmallow on Monday and the app is fine.
Had one of these for 3 or 4 months now and very impressive for a tenner.
My little strap has snapped and so if I happen to knock it and it comes loose I have probably lost the lot but for that price I would probably get another.

This is a bargain price, I have one and it is very good. If you download Mi Band Tools (android) you can get notifications through your band for calls, sms, whatsapp etc and set different colours/vibration patterns for specific contacts or apps.

On my lumia I found Mi Band Companion was unreliable at connecting, and Bind Mi Band wasn't good for features, my preferred app is Mi Band Buddy Beta, gives you some sleep data, though not sure how comprehensive it is, plus 3 alarms and steps (and more importantly history).
Previously I was using MiBand Tracker BETA, which was the most reliable of the apps available at the time, always connected reliable, but missing history and sleep.

I disagree, mine started falling out of the bracelet after a few months, as did my fiance's, and my son's. All were official bands, and official straps. The bracelets are the weak point of the MiBand, so i've ended up getting one of these bracelets which hold the band in place - which is slightly annoying when it comes to charge time, but as that only happens every month or so, not a huge issue!
Hopeful that a new MiBand will come out soon, as there was talk about the 1S having a HR sensor. Also more option to sync with other apps like MyFitnessPal or Google Fit (which worked at one point!) would be good. Been keeping an eye out for a deal on the Mi Scale too.
djames108
15 Oct 151#30
for 1/6 the price of a popular brand you could afford to lose a few plus battery life is second to none in these. I've had sync issues twice but I just unpaired and deleted the device, removed mi fit software, charged device then reinstalled and setup as new. had no issues since.
also the device has only ever fell out of the strap at work when I've caught it on something so its not as if they fall out for fun or lightly. for normal use and gym its fine.

Use the modified (Android) app from here http://en.miui.com/thread-53761-1-1.html. When I had one, you could set different vibrate patterns and colours for individual notifications. It was very good - not perfect but better than the Xiaomi version.

I didn't realise how many cheap band like this one there are out there. It's a bit boggling. Like this one doesn't cost much more and has screen:
Although I am guessing the Mi band has better support.
None of them seem to integrate with myfitnesspal, part from the mi band is a very long winded way involving a PC. The one with a screen looks better for alerts and stuff, but do you want them scrolling along your arm where other people can read them?
I am going to have to have a good think about what I actually want to use this for, rather than just wanting to play with one

Yeah, and it's not a good update. It's a whole new model called Xiaomi AmazeFit, and it's a lot more expensive, over £60 I think, and looks VERY ugly, and for all that money there's no heart rate monitor! A let down really, thought they'd just use the current design but change it up a little bit and have a similar price tag.
moneysavingkitten
22 Oct 15#105
Thanks, I was digging around and eventually found the Amazfit last night. I don't mind the design as a pendant, but agree it looks a bit odd as a watch. I can't work out what features it has that are different yet, apart from being round :S Definitely not heart rate monitor then? I wish they would confirm all the details.
f2k8
22 Oct 15#106
I like the concept of it, and I like how thin it is, it's just the circle glossy pendant which is so off-putting, they could have made it something else and it would look a lot better, a lot of people online are not happy with the design atm it seems, but I'll wait for reviews and see if it's worth the money. As long as it does a good job and doesn't break after 3 months I may still give it a shot.
moneysavingkitten
22 Oct 15#107
Looks like wireless charging and some sort of home automation seem to be it's main new features? Be interesting to hear about how that works, I am undecided if I care about both those things or not.
This is with the black band, additional bands in various colours are available for £3.28 each:

Think this is a no brainer if you are thinking of getting a band or tracker. If you don't like or decide you want a better band/tracker then it it's no major loss, if you're happy and want to keep it result as it is cheap as chips (in an expensive restaurant!)
I'm assuming it is the IP67 version, if so link to the mi.com:

This is one the cheapest and great deal for owning a fitness bracelet. I usually use this for tracking my light and deep sleep. For the pedometer, whenever I'm [email protected], technically counts my step too."

then last month my sisters stopped registering with her phone and won't register now no matter what I try.
so for me these were initially good for the money but you do risk loosing the centre tracker part from the band and question the longevity of them. under a tenner they are certainly worth a go even at least to see if you will bother with it.
sleep tracker was accurate but u don't need a device to tell u of u have had a carp nights sleep.

As does youtube:

Note that for Android it must be 4.4 onwards. The app won't work with 4.2.
No doubt Xiaomi will put out a fix at some point for the app, but just wanted to raise it so people are aware that it isn't working atm.
Had one of these for 3 or 4 months now and very impressive for a tenner.
My little strap has snapped and so if I happen to knock it and it comes loose I have probably lost the lot but for that price I would probably get another.
I charged my battery 48 days ago and still have 14% remaining

I had one and it fell out of the bracelet (which was a bit worn). If buying this, get a couple of spare bracelets.
This is the best tracker for it's price range.
Previously I was using MiBand Tracker BETA, which was the most reliable of the apps available at the time, always connected reliable, but missing history and sleep.

Hopeful that a new MiBand will come out soon, as there was talk about the 1S having a HR sensor. Also more option to sync with other apps like MyFitnessPal or Google Fit (which worked at one point!) would be good. Been keeping an eye out for a deal on the Mi Scale too.
also the device has only ever fell out of the strap at work when I've caught it on something so its not as if they fall out for fun or lightly. for normal use and gym its fine.
69RMB=7.02GBP
it is possible to get a real one for this price, but madcap can you give me the link of the £7 one :stuck_out_tongue:
Same thing better price? @ £9.66 looks like you can get TCB on it aswell.

The band itself typically goes 50-55 days between charges, great device
Ordered on 12/10, shipped today :disappointed: Can't wait to got it!!
Sorry if someone already post it, but be aware than previous version have less compability. Upgrade version is ok from Iphone 4S & onwards
You can also set the band as a trusted device to unlock it - that was incredibly useful.
That sounds like just what I want from the notifications
Do you need a rooted phone to make make the modified software work?
Go to full site select China and the right hand band in the colour selection and still same price!

I didn't realise how many cheap band like this one there are out there. It's a bit boggling. Like this one doesn't cost much more and has screen:
http://www.gearbest.com/smart-wristband/pp_180798.html
Although I am guessing the Mi band has better support.
None of them seem to integrate with myfitnesspal, part from the mi band is a very long winded way involving a PC. The one with a screen looks better for alerts and stuff, but do you want them scrolling along your arm where other people can read them?
I am going to have to have a good think about what I actually want to use this for, rather than just wanting to play with one

Thanks. I've been looking at these before and now I've finally decided to order.
Thanks
Shocking delivery time though.
I've downloaded another app to work along side it too. It's called mi band tools. Great for extra notifications
