This is the cheapest way to get the white model of the Z5 Compact sim free. The £377.10 was the final price I paid after using Amazon's currency convertor today and it includes the shipping fee. You should be able to get this even cheaper if you use a fee free card for international purchase.
The white model in the UK is exclusive to Carphone Warehouse (and is inexplicably MORE expensive than going direct to Sony - £449 vs £429).
Note: There are cheaper sellers there but this is direct from Amazon (EUR 507.49). I have no idea about the reliability of the other sellers but since this is an EU purchase anyway it's likely safer to go direct via Amazon.

Disappointing no other tech manufacturer can match Apple's in-store swap process :/

Anyone bought a Sony phone from abroad before? What happens in regards to warranty?
My understanding is that this isn't valid under UK warranty. Does that mean you'd have to send it back to Italy/Europe to get it repaired, or pay more or wait longer to get Sony UK to fix it?
Thanks!

As far as my research went with this prior to actually making this purchase, I learnt that warranty for such purchases would be Europe-wide but any returns needs to be done by going through Amazon Italy. There's very little English-speaking support though from Amazon Italy - you are restricted to using Email Me In English.

Just like IPhones it's take a while for the older models to drop. Samething with Samsung S series.

Great phone, had mine for 2 weeks and I am happy with it compared to my iPhone 6. Camera is great, will be improved with the proper Sony Camera app due soon.

I was going to suggest a contract, but there again...
just got one today on contract, fantastic little phone and looks great in white
for any benchmark nerds like me it scores 62756 in antutu, an LG G4 gets 50358 so you can see it packs a punch for its price bracket

I just bought a z3 compact the other day from cex £180 in box and good condition (in nice orange colour) wouldn't spend an extra £200 on z5 compact

And apple will be 200£ cheaper, such as that iPhone 6 128GB for 399£ (you can add a 100£ as it is a refurbished and it is still 200£ cheaper than when it was released <1 year ago)

This has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, seems a bit bonkers for a phone with only an HD screen. Could get a z3 compact instead without losing much.

I was under the impression that one of the main differences is finger printer sensor.
If you want to be able to use the new pay with your phone which I think is coming to Android soon, then I thought you needed a fingerprint sensor to do this?

no hence why i dont mind paying a small delivery charge lol, to get it fixed :-)
Sony has found the root cause of the issue, and has promised to release a software update in week 44 -- between 26 October and 1 November -- to fix it.

A word of warning there was a issue with the white Z5c, something to do with the touch screen software that should be fixed by an update

fair enough about getting the side flip fixed under warranty but would they really be obligated to help you if you dropped it down a bog??

my phone is under warranty, and the side flap fell off so that defo needs fixing, if i have to pay charges for delivery i dont mind, at least i wouldnt have to worry about dropping it down the bog and losing out on £££££££ rather than a small delivery fee :-)

And then you have to pay for them to ship it back if you don't like their quote.
click that link then follow instructions and sony replace it, they said no price could be given to carry out repair until they have had a look.
(you need to create a sony account if you dont already have one)

Personally, I wouldn't risk it as it'd invalidate your warranty and likely the waterproofing too.

i want to replace the housing on my z3c but cant find any reputable shops that will do it :-( at the minute its the green casing, wouldnt mind black.
To open it though requires skill and tools that i do not have.

gotta be honest. Went into cpw other day, and while it may be a great phone internally, externally it didn't feel or look it in comparison to the z3c. Didn't have that "premium" feel to it.
