I saw this offer a few nights ago on the Wilko website. This is good quality 3 ply toilet paper, with the full 200 sheets per roll. I try to find toilet rolls for 30p each but it's getting harder all the time. This is a great deal at under 28p each. I noticed when I checked HUKD that this has been posted before, but I've never seen it or would have stocked up, so am posting it.

I have the dimensions of the Velvet toilet tissue sheets now - 120 mm x 104.5 mm per sheet, making 45.14 m2, or 24 m roll length. Can you tell me the dimensions of each Nicky Elite sheet and I do the working out again.

My point was that you can buy cheap toilet roll anywhere but it's rubbish in terms of quality. This is cheap and good quality which makes it a great deal. Just because your friend needs to get their toilet fixed doesn't change this fact

I actually would have but don't have the full dimensions of the Velvet ones :sunglasses: When my order arrives I'll look and see if I can find it on the pack, as I have no brand loyalty, I'll buy whatever is the best value and does a good job (pardon the pun).

Do you also take into accout the size of each sheet? they may be a few cm diffrent!

I think so but to be honest I can't remember (40 rolls last a long time so I only need to buy them infrequently!). They're always a no-brainer buy for me. That, laundry tablets and fabric conditioner.

I love me some good quality toilet roll. Be wary of brands claiming to be extremely soft though, half the time that just means it'll fall apart in your ass!

Probably every Costco-er knows about these but if you're a member and haven't seen them then they're usually about £10 for 40 rolls.

Is that after VAT has been added? My son was there last week, if I'd known I'd have asked him to get me some.

I did that comparison - in fact they are almost the same price per **** when you take 4.2% TCB into account on Wilko i.e. £4.79
therealslimkaty
23 Oct 151#35
That makes the Nicky roll 25.88p per roll if it had 200 sheets like the Velvet. Which would make it £4.66 for 18 rolls against £5 for the Velvet deal if calculated as the same number of sheets. So you are actually only saving 34p for the 18 pack, not £1.05. They're sneaky with smaller rolls, I always check the number of sheets and ply.

no I don't expect anything to be reserved; was expecting to check out what was in the basket if stock was available

It's a real bummer - I'd kept 10 in my basket from last week and when I went to check out today it wouldn't let me and restricted to one per customer.

You can't expect a site to reserve ten packets of toilet roll for you for a week, just in case you decide to come back though.

can anyone tell me what this is like vs Velvet as I was about to pop out and get exactly this deal that I spotted the other day...

Can you tell me how many sheets per roll there are? A lot have 160 sheets, 40 less than this velvet deal per roll. That adds up very quickly.

I was hoping for some scientific comeback - abrasiveness, coefficient of friction against hairy and non hairy bums, likeliness to agitate piles, that sort of thing.

I bought a 4 pack of Nicky the other day, didn't want to be lumbered with a load of them if they were awful, was pleasantly surprised with the quality. They're actually really decent.

Funny thing is that my friend would never use Velvet as she said it would block her toilet. You see, people do have funny preference! I rate Velvet as best, but not keen my 3-ply!

Thanks for posting I will be checking out WIlko in my lunch break.
I always aim for 33 pence a roll ie 9 rolls for £2.99.
I'm in the dislike team for Nicky I'm afraid.

Not bad, can get 18 rolls of a non-branded load for £2.99 in B&M. Always. And as far as this stuff goes, it's quite good quality and soft.

You obviously haven't used velvet. Nicky toilet rolls are terrible in comparison and very weak. This is the best roll you can buy and a bargain at this price

I agree with the post very unusual to find a quality loo roll under 30p a roll. Had plenty at my local Wilkinsons today

Velvet is good quality, but there are some economy brands to be avoided at all cost as it is just false economy because unless you use triple the amount of tissue than normal, you literally end up with a handful of sh*t!
