Looking at booking a weekend city break for Valentine's Day and came across a trip to Cologne which seems like really good value considering it's 3 days/2 nights.
Fly out with Ryanair on Friday 12th Feb:
Stansted - Cologne
07:40 - 10:05
Fly back with Ryanair on Sunday 14th Feb:
21:50 - 22:10
Stay at the 4* (4.1/5 on TripAdvisor) Hotel Lyskirchen, 0.6 miles to city centre with an indoor pool. Book through hotels.com for Quidco Cashback + collect reward nights.
Flights (return) = £67.96
Hotel (2 nights) = £112 (+ £6 City Tax)
Train from Airport to City Centre (return) = £8
= £193.96 / £96.98pp
Also considering getting a Cologne Card for 48hrs that allows free public transport and 50% off a lot of museum prices which is £13pp. Book this far in advance at the Stansted Express is only £18pp.

drag ur Mr./Mrs. out of bed at 4:00 and not back until midnight Sunday. You call this Valentine's? I call this miserable.

Later flights out are available for only £4pp more. Admittedly not ideal flights back but would prefer later flights than cutting the weekend short.
