They're not slow. They might have been before the updates but I wasn't looking at them then so I can't comment. I've seen 2 demonstrated in a shop and I've owned 2 and none of them have been slow. I bought a dedicated android TV box last year and my Sony TV wipes the floor with it. I've had maybe one crash on my TV in maybe a month. I'm quite happy to put up with that for the flexibility that Android gives me.

I think seamless might be a bit of a stretch... From my experience of using them (one in store, the other a friends) I've found them very slow. Even simple things like switching inputs of turning on. That's not mentioning the freezing, crashing and other things. You don't realise how much modern TV's rely on the OS until you experience this. I think it's partly due to Sony only going with a dual core processor, when most other manufacturers are going with quad core.
Granted I have not used one since the many updates that have been implemented. I'm sure they're see better, but I'm not sure how you can overcome the processor issue, that's hardware.
As I said before, it should be a great TV. Superb picture, great build quality. Only let down is a buggy OS and sub par processor.

Are you talking about Sony Android TVs in general or this specific model? I've had two different Sony Android TVs, a 50" and a 55", and both have worked perfectly. There are still updates coming through to fix a few things but in general use it works brilliantly. Android integrates seamlessly. Sure there are people experiencing issues on the Sony forums but most of the major issues have been resolved through the updates. There may seem to be quite a few complaints on the forums but considering there have been millions of these TVs sold I think the majority of people are pretty happy with their choice.

Avoid! Sony dropped the ball by putting Android on this. Nothing against Android, just on this TV it runs terribly. Constant freezing, crashing, ports not working. Updates still haven't rectified it.
Would of been a great TV if they hadn't put Android on it.

Running Android on a tv is genius. I bought the £699 amazon one a couple weeks back and it is amazing.
It runs android 5.1 lolipop and you can install any android app you want...yes even those from the internet and watch just about anything.
I haven't really had any software issues too and even if i did it can be fixed through the net.

Sony released a software update last week which has resulted in good improvements from my experience. Also the long awaited youview will be rolled out in a couple of weeks according to an email I received from Sony the other day too.

No this to is not 3d. I bought this TV about a month ago (£800). Great TV, easy to set up, lots of features, picture is excellent in standard HD let alone 4k.
I'm no AV expert, but it suits my simple tastes perfectly.
