New SONOS Play:5 coming out by the end of the year so stores clearing out the current model. Popped into Currys in Wednesbury tonight and saw they had them for £299 (RRP £349). Could just be local to this store but worth checking in other stores. I know it is now an older model but still great sound and the new version will be £429 RRP so good saving.
EDIT: just popped into Currys in Kidderminster and now further reduced to £269.99

That journal has absolutely zero credibility.

yeah, I got 2 x play 5s from a Sony shop in Brighton for £199 each. This was awhile ago though.

These have now been reduced even further, to an incredible £179.97. Probably a wild goose chase to find one but confirmed by staff member this new lower price is national. I managed to pick the last display model up from Currys in Greenock. Fantastic bargain. Hopefully someone else can snare one at this price

This is now £269.99 at Currys Kidderminster so probably national. Even more of a bargain

Great opportunity to get a stereo pair if you have a single 5. Can't imagine a single new 5 will top that considering my paired 3s are notably better than my single 5

I guess you won't be able to pair a new Play 5 with an old one....and even if you did it might sound odd...i guess..

Trueplay is superb on my Play:1 and Play:3. Toggling it on and off shows what a difference it makes. Thought it was great sound before but even better now. Will probably opt for the new 5 even though £130 more. More future proof I guess.

I have been testing true play for a while. Fear not it makes a massive difference to my play 5s.

The new ones have added 5gz so can be used as surround with the plat bar. I have three of each model and all great. New 5 is 429 gbp.

I wondered if the Thursby, Fribury of Saturbury stores had these in stock?

I had a listen to the new Play 5 today, it is a totally different sound,. There is a lot more bottom end and the sound is much warmer. Tweeters are positioned differently to give a better sound stage too, a really great product and definitely a step up.

hmm, I think the original looks alot more classy. New one is not so grown up looking.

What Hi-Fi reviews are fine by me, they've been doing it for about 40 years unlike the gadget websites!

You say that like
A ) It's been the same guy doing it all that time.
B ) Doing something a lot makes you good at it. Ever been driven somewhere in a taxi?

Tempted to wait for the newer model and see if they allow bridging without having to actually buy the bridge

If national get Richer Sounds to price beat, think they would do it for £289.
