Behave. A 63 plate clean Ibiza with 10,000 on the clock for £4k?
Anyway I didn't say it was a bad deal my words were "Seems about right price for an £8k car."
30% of the cars value for two years use and 10k miles is about right.

That's 5,000 per year but 10,000 per year is only a couple hundred more over the 2 years (£2561)

I don't think that's overly persuasive logic. If it is trivially easy to buy something for £8k then comparing leasing it to that product on the basis of a £10k valuation is a pointless exercise. The decision should be buy at a good price or lease at a good price; not buy at a bad price vs lease at a good price.
Seems like a reasonable price to pay to own a new car if you're not doing many miles and are mostly travelling on slower roads.

Nope, it's an £8k car, as that price is avaliable to anyone who's either willing to haggle or use a broker.
The list price is suggested.

Fact is, it is a 10k car. if you pay less (and you should) good for you.

Is leasing a good idea? How does it really compare with buying a used vehicle? Is there any downsides to consider such as how many miles you do per year?

You'd have to be very unlucky to need new brakes and tyres in 15k miles, it's not exactly torquey.

Looking at the figures the three year plan works out better on average per month.

Factor in the MOT though and a few extra consumables like pads and tyres.
We use 2 year leases for that very reason and it is hassle free motoring.

Nah the ibiza is crap. The only decent model they do is the Leon. Ibiza has too many cheap plastics in it and the old dashboard which is extremely ugly.

anyone recommend a good company to do a cheap scudo or similar? getting tired of buying 8 year old commercial vehicles for dog walking that are false economies. have looked myself but... and have never seen a commercial vehicle lease on here...

I had the privelage of driving a 15 reg ibiza as a company car for 2 months. although it was the 1.4 model. so I think I could probably give a non biased opinion of ibizas if anyone is interested.
1. handling: nobody is buying this car as a track car. although the handling on such a small car is actually pretty solid. I have wound mine round country roads and i must say for a small car it is actually quite fun to drive.
2. power. the version I had my hands on was the 1.4 it could pull if you drop gear to overtake. but it struggled hard when you were already at high speeds. the engine also seemed to make a whining sound after long drives like it was overheating. never caused any problems though.
3. comfort: man this car was cramped i had a 15 reg clio before it and it was far more spacious. after work I usually swing my bag into the passenger seat from the drivers side before I get in. this car made that almost imposibble by hitting the steering wheel or hand break etc. i often stood on the side if the road swinging a bag multiple times before it would go where I was aiming for. not an official test obviously but just a hint to what normal things that you dont realise you do that you probably won't be able to do because of space. like doing some work if needs be. anything longer than sending a quick email and you suddenly realise what a small area you have to work with.
4. looks: I actually really liked the shape and the interior of this car no piano polished plastic which is becoming common in new cars. no **** sensors that don't work. you actually got the feeling that in 10 years time this car may still be running. I never got that impression of the clio I had. the ibiza does feel like it's built to last.
my one had sat nav built in with blue tooth etc. not sure if it comes as standard now I know a lot of new cars do. this was probably one of the worst designs I have ever seen. when I say built in you picture a screen on the head unit completely designed into the car. this instead had a detatchable garmin sat nav which I had a few greavences with.
1 it sticks up on the dashboard so it looks like a sat nav has just been left in the car ready to steal. it does come off so you can put it in the glove box. but you never know when and where you'll forget to do that.
2 when the sat nav is not attached there is no bluetooth. which means if you want to go to the local supermarket but also listen to music you have to have a sat nav pointing at you like a taxi driver.
3. the sat nav wobbles which means the sound breaks up regularly. like I have mentioned the sat nav is built onto the dash but is detachable. it connects to the power source by a series of pins on the bottom of the stock it sits on. problem is these pins loosen as you take corners, go over speed bumps, drive on a bumpy motorway road. the sound starts to crackle up so if you are listening to phone music every 5 or 10 minutes you have to lean forward and adjust the position of the nav to stop this from happening. but it will happen and happen again.
overall i probably wouldn't buy one of these cars. they would maybe be an appealing better looking alternative to a seat 500. so probably first car material. or wee city car. it was definately a fun car to drive but even the 1.4 felt underpowered. for this price though it's a steal. although 1.0 :/

I have a 2015 1.2TSI FR and would agree on most of these points. I find the handling to be extremely vague though, although it does have a lot of grip. The engine is very good though and the gearbox is OK.
Agree about the sat nav, mine comes loose every corner and needs to be reset if it was on Bluetooth.
Have to second what you said about it being cramped too. I'm 6'4" and I reckon if I was an inch taller I wouldn't physically be able to get it in. With the steering wheel as high as it will go my knees still rub it, and with the seat all the way down my head is just off the roof.
The space inside is just generally very badly used, I can't actually get a cup or bottle into any of the cupholders due to other things getting in the way (elbows, legs, gearstick)
I got mine on a very good deal so have learned to live with it but I would only recommend if you get a similarly good deal and are probably 6'2" or under.

"Sport Coupe" - utter marketing speak. This is the lowest spec, smallest engine, 3dr Ibiza. This engine isn't exactly nippy in the Up/Mii/Citigo, so don't expect to be pulling the skin off a rice pudding with it. Cheap new car though.

After 2 years the value of the car will drop down to between 4-5k - So the lease works out great compared to what you would lose in depreciation if you bought it new.
