Poor resolution for size of screen. You will want at least 3440x1440 which is why these 1080 are cheaper.
Do yourself a favor and wait until you have another £100-£200 and get something with better value

That 40" is excellent if you can accomodate it.

It has less input options, DVI and HDMI only. No curve, but it does have AMD FreeSync which allows for a variable refresh rate to prevent v-sync tearing whilst gaming. Only works with AMD graphics cards though. Also no built-in usb hub. But other than that - relatively the same.
The 32" model of this is only an extra £30 on ebuyer, I'm personally going to buy the lg 34" ultrawide for £380 though

I was looking at the 34 AOC, but figured I wanted a curve, well for **** and giggles more than anything else. I'll see how I feel with the 29UC97, if I'm happy with the aspect ratio but not happy with the loss of vertical space, then I'll definitely be looking at the 34" versions.

I bought the 29" LG one when it was on here a couple of months back. You get pretty used to it quite quickly actually, would recommend the size, though can't speak for this model.

Hmm debating whether to get a 1440p monitor or go full 4K like this beasty monitor >
I would be very tempted. Like the previous poster said, I have no problem running games although I am not a huge gamer. Crysis 1-3 looked beautiful as did Mass Effect and Starcraft (I only have a 970). Even though the specifications said it wouldnt, my ATI 6950 did run a dual 34 inch set up.
Back to the 34 inch curved screens, they are a weird resolutions and some games dont support them. This means if you tab out a lot they may not be running at native resolution and you get 3 seconds of black screens as you switch back to native desktop resolution. A minor gripe but its pretty annoying.
Also, I used to have a 2560*1600 set up which allowed 4 web browsers/dicuments/applications on each screen. On the 34" curved screens you cant run 2 above each other really, they are too narrow so they have to go side by side 3 to a screen.

Wow! haven't looked at monitor prices for a while and it's amazing how much they've dropped over the last 12 months or so. Wasn't long ago you'd have to spend nearly that much to get a 27" 1440p Korean import.

Potentially yes, however I am sticking with Amazon at the moment for ease of return process, as I'm not sure I'm going to like the change. The 34" variant looks amazing for gaming, productivity would be rather minimal on my home build and am still considering a purchase of the LG 34UC97 or the 34 Samsung if I get along with the new aspect ratio. 29" and lower resolution may hit the gaming sweet spot for anyone not sporting a 980ti or higher.

I had been considering this monitor for the last couple of weeks, been debating whether or not it's worth going up to 3440 x 1440, but it would require an additional 970 for me to push games to that resolution comfortably.
I have now ordered the LG 29UC97 which is on Amazon for £325 with a two week delivery time, it's pretty much the same apart from the IPS display vs VA display, and the LG has an additional 2 USB 3 ports on the rear, and IMO a more attractive stand.
I would have cancelled for this monitor if it wasn't from ebuyer, I've always had problems with their customer service dealing with faulty equipment. Not to mention, I'm still not sure about the 2560 x 1080, it's going to a strange change from my 16:10 1920 x 1200 - at least with Amazon, I have the option of a no fuss return.

Bespoke offers it to get a better price and different seller?
I love the 34" Samsungs I have, can display 3x full A4 on each screen.

I have an AOC 3440x1440p monitor and my single 980 runs the majority of games max 60fps. If you have the extra money go for 3440x1440p because in my opinion the immersion is incredible. I couldn't go back to a 16:9 monitor.

I need a new monitor but is there any real advantage of a curved screen?

For a PC it can make sense as it'll be only you looking at the screen. Although I personally won't buy from ebuyer again or trust them after their abysmal treatment of an issue of their own making yet I was barred (I was a regular customer for about 8 years).
Having said that, if they haven't opened the box, it does seem like a good price
