See I'm with this, don't get me wrong it has amazing visuals and a great story line, but I owned it on PS3 and PS4 yet I'm still to complete it. I found it a struggle and a chore, strip back the graphics and story and you have a bog stand and linear zombie game.
I now appreciate I have just alienated myself from the HUKD gaming community

Ordered yesterday, and arrived sealed today. Can't argue with service like that! On the rear it says "eu.playstation.com" above the barcode. Does this mean it's a European version? I purchased Little Big Planet from Game, and this also has the same text above the barcode, so I'm not too bothered about it. I just hope it won't prevent me from trading it in at a later stage.

I think that all UK copies would also include that, but what languages are included on the back of the box? A photo would probably be helpful if possible.

I stopped by GAME at lunchtime today to check what their new copies have and yes, I can confirm that UK copies will have "eu.playstation.com" over the barcode. So long as there's just English on the back, it should be a standard UK copy.
Oh, and I caved and ordered a copy.

Nobody calls this a zombie shooter, mainly because there are no zombies in this game, people make the same silly mistake with films like 28 days later.

As someone currently playing this for the first time I have to say it doesn't look or feel next gen. There are obvious omissions from the 'touch up' in many scenes. For that reason I'm not sure I will be buying the Nathan Drake Collection. I loved those games on the PS3 but feel they will look the same as this on PS4. It's a good game don't get me wrong, but expected more after all the hype.

Already spent a couple of hours on The Nathan Drake collection, feels like a new game to me, they have done a superb job with the graphics.

It's a fair point. I played the Nathan Drake collection demo and the differences were very subtle to the point of not really adding anything at all. Granted they were very good looking games to begin with but i expected more. I never bought TLOU on the PS4 for similar reasons because i couldn't see any big differences from the PS3 version. It seems all you are really paying for is a higher frame rate and the ability to play it on the PS4. Not good enough.
If i ever pick this up for a tenner it will be more for convenience and just to own again as i sold my PS3 copy a long time ago.

You never know. I never expected Super meat boy or broken age or rocket league on ps plus (yes I know they aren't 'triple a' but seemed out of the blue), So after that It wouldn't surprise me if this did appear on ps plus in the next year or so, or if it appears on there nearer the end of the ps4's cycle. Its already been on 'sale' on psn store a couple of times so if its been in a sale a number of times, for the most part, its an indication if it will go on ps plus at some point or not.

Console games with a joy pad? They are for kids and n00bs. Real gamers use a PC.
Except...
My gaming PC rig died at a LAN in July and I still haven't built a new one. I've got a beautiful iMac and that does all my day to day computing needs brilliantly ... but I want to play the occasional game.
About 2 weeks ago I fired up the PS3 we have under the TV that I only ever used as a Blu Ray player. Kids used it for a couple of games but they have x boxed in their rooms so PS3 was hardly used. Downloaded the demo of Beyond Two Souls and was hooked. Straight out to buy the game (£8 from Grainger) and I am loving working my way through it. I've also bought The Last Of Us and am playing that. I am absolutely useless with a joy pad and I don't care what anyone says; using a JP in a FPS is just wrong. I wish I could use a KB & M on the PS3 but I.will make do with the pad. I would love to see what the game looks like on a PS4!

I really don't get the hype, I am not a big gamer at all, but have enjoyed some of the classic games in the recent past, such as Resident Evil 4, Uncharted, and can see the enjoyment in Red Dead Redemption and GTA, but this game is no where near that level for me so far.
I am about 2.5-3 hours in and am really finding it a drag, its like a poor resident evil game to me. The controls seem a bit clunky too.

It's all about the story really and that's why it takes until half-way through the game before it clicks. Once you become invested in the characters and their story you will be hooked. I totally agree though that the gameplay is rather sub-standard and will not surprise you in the slightest. It's all been done before a hundred times over but if you want to enjoy a decent, mature story then keep going and you will enjoy it.

TGC are great, have 15 completed orders with the, this year and the longest a game has taken to arrive is 4 days, I'd say 2/3 of ,y deliveries arrived the next day (and that's with free postage too!). Don't doubt other people's negative experiences but they are the exception rather than in the rule I think. Excellent game too, I can't stand open world games so a straight forward strong based game is perfect for me. TLOU excels in the story department, it's so much more than a pretty zombie game!

Without doubt the best ps4 game you'll get for less than £15. Both single/ multiplayer are addictive once you get into it(100's of hrs lost ) and I don't regret paying full price for this as i have got more than my monies worth. If your not sure weather to buy, trust me BUY it as you won't be regret it, you'll be disappointed you didn't buy it sooner.

I only see one negative comment about them here so far, and in relation to postage which is outside of their control if items go missing - sending a replacement after allowing time for late post is as much as most retailers would do. I've just bought this without really looking at reviews or gameplay videos. I bought it mainly because of the hype, and all of the awards it has won. It's not what I would usually base my purchases on, as I often research games watching various videos e.t.c.
I've only just realised that it's a Naughty Dog game, and upon watching a couple of videos it has a feel of Uncharted about it. Is this a misconception on my part?
DaveWallace
9 Oct 151#16
I think that's very fair actually - the gameplay mechanics are not particularly innovative and the game is pretty linear (not a problem per se for me as I quite like a simple shooter) - but I would say that by stripping away the story I think you lose one of the best aspects of the game. I'm not a big fan of games that would clearly rather be movies (stuff like Uncharted feels a bit like I'm jumping through hoops to watch a succession of cutscenes), but with The Last of Us I found the story utterly gripping and the relationships incredibly engaging.
And moreover, I felt that a lot of the best parts of the story were told through the gameplay, with some of the most powerful moments being moments during which you were in control of the characters, rather than moments when you were watching them passively in a cutscene.
I can understand why it isn't for everyone, and if the story doesn't grab you then the game probably won't feel like anything special, but I found it to be an incredibly engaging and compelling experience overall.

One of my all time favourite games.
Don't judge it until you've finished a couple of "seasons" (winter was my favourite).
Also the online mode is so addictive. Supply Raid is great - two teams of four, 20 respawns for each team... run and you show up on the map, shoot an unsilenced gun and you show up on the map...it's tactical and tense!
For this price you'd be crazy not to try it.

I think the hype machine (and whether we buy into it or not) has a lot to do with it... Best game of the last generation? Nope, not even close (*** in my opinion ***). I feel the same about RDR too... Both of these games were good, great maybe(?), but generation defining? Not for me.
