Looking at my current HUKD deals it seems i'm obsessed with this camera.
It's currently on sale at Jessops for a mere £479.99 with TWO lens kits;
You get the stock 18-55mm kit lens, plus a 55-300mm lens for those long range shots. Both lenses and camera are weather resistant.
Apparently it's an exclusive deal. Free delivery or collection from store.

I am keen on hobby photographist and have a nikon dslr and canon dslr with lens to go with them. One day i was reading about a Sony four third camera, to cut a long story short i bort the Panasonic GH3 four third camera (body only ) reconditioned. It is a lot smaller than my other dslrs ( no mirror in it ) so it is easy to slip into what i call a toiletry size bag. The picture quality is fantastic and so is the video. I have canon ring adapters and nikon adapters so i can use my canon and nikon lens on this camera in manual mode only. I dont think i will buy canon or nikon dslrs in the future although i will still use the ones i have got.

Nothing against the D3300 because it's a great camera, but the K-50 has a huge amount going for it that you'll only find in significantly more expensive Canon/Nikon cameras, if at all. In body image stabilisation, 6fps continuous shooting, weather sealing, pentaprism viewfinder, 9 cross type AF points, and 51,600 maximum ISO are all pretty stellar features to find in an SLR with a consumer class price tag.
If you want to get invested in a system with a wide variety of professional grade lenses and eventually move to a full frame body, then yeah, Nikon or Canon may be the more sensible choice. If you're a hobbyist looking for a well featured body with a couple of decent affordable lenses, then Pentax are absolutely worth considering alongside "the big two".
This is a very reassuring response. I suppose along with the 55-300 HD WR lens which is also bundled with the camera the offer is a bit of a bargain at the £479 asking price.I have been trying to get the answer about the stock lens from Jessops all day using their chat line but with conflicting answers defending who I got!!
Thanks

No, I have this as the kit lens and its DA-L which is the composite mount variant, I really think its a non-issue though, its perfectly good enough, to be fair, its leagues ahead of the kit lenses on other brands, don't let the non-metal mount put you off, I would take a non metal WR lens over a non-WR metal mount kit lens!

Pentax making some really decent cameras now. If I was a more experienced photographer I'd go for the Pentax K-3 II.
I voted this deal hot. Shame the extra GPS module costs so much.

Does the 18-55mm lens supplied with this package have a metal mount and lens hood?

I was exactly the same (and still am lol!) and bought it in a lightning deal a couple of months ago for £290ish with the 18-55 lens. Very very happy with the camera, I've got some wonderful photos, even before I learned to get out of auto mode. Can't recommend enough with the following caveats - no ability for external microphone, I've read the video quality isn't that great (although it's not what I bought it for), screen isn't moveable. I've not found any of these to be a problem for me personally but it depends on your expected usage I guess.
The 55-300mm lens on amazon is £320ish on amazon on it's own so this is an awesome deal! Can't say I rate the kit lens you get with it but perhaps I haven't used it optimally yet. I also bought the 50mm f1.8 lens (£50 on a lightning deal!) and love it, the picture quality is great.
There's so many features on it that I've not even looked at yet, still trying to get the basics right. Anyway, hope this helps somewhat.
