Diablo III is the definitive action role-playing game, and a true continuation of the Diablo series.
Players will create a male or female hero from one of five distinct classes - barbarian, witch doctor, wizard, monk, or demon hunter - each equipped with an array of spells and abilities. As these heroes adventure through rich and varied settings, unraveling an epic storyline and engaging in combat with hordes of monsters and challenging bosses, they’ll grow in experience and ability and acquire items of incredible power.
The game takes place on Sanctuary, a world of dark fantasy. Unbeknownst to most of its inhabitants, Sanctuary was saved some twenty years ago from the demonic forces of the underworld by a few brave and powerful heroes. Most of those warriors who directly faced the armies of the Burning Hells - and were fortunate enough to survive - went mad from their experiences. And most of the others have buried their haunted memories and pushed the horrors from their thoughts. In Diablo III, players will return to Sanctuary to confront evil in its many forms once again.
Diablo III will be a fitting sequel to Diablo II, with the easy interface, fast-paced action, and visceral gameplay that Diablo players have come to expect and enjoy. It will also include many new features that will take the Diablo action-RPG experience to the next level.

I have a PC connected to my living room TV which I use with a 360 controller exclusively. I know the base gave didn't in the past, but do any of the expansions provide controller support?

This is a mouse heavy game, how will you play this on the horrible underground seats? Surely not touch pad :disappointed:?

So I can't play this in the London Underground? :disappointed:
That's a bit of a bummer. Was hoping to do some gaming on the daily commute.

Diablo 2 was amazing, does he not play on Bnet?
I spent way too much time on that game.

thinking of getting this
but people says only good if you get the expansion
good idea to get this and level to max level before thinking of getting expansion?

Can you solo this game? I'm not a huge online fan - well at least until I beat the game.

You can play Solo but you need to be connected Online all the time with the Battle.net

Ahh, I see. We're all playing through together for now, at the same level (got my Crusader up to 47), but thanks for the offer anyways.

That's the problem - when you it Level 60 with Vanilla and 61+ with RoS it will give you an error saying that Vanilla doesn't have required futures to continue the game together - I had that once with a friends I didn't know doesn't own RoS and we got to level 60 and he got kicked out from the game by the system with random Numbers error without explanation - we found out that it was error from missing Reaper of Souls from the Diablo 3 forum.
I can help you level up the character if you are on PC and interested in enjoying the 'End Game' -> Boosting people Lv. 1 to Lv. 70 in 20min.

Not too sure about that, but I play Seasons with a couple of mates of mine who don't yet have RoS. Too low a character to test that out though.

To be fair Ekko, there's quite a lot of content in this base version. You can even jump in a party with people who have Reaper of Souls, so you're not locked off from them (you can't play RoS content though).
This is a very good buy, not just because you need the base game to play RoS, but to try the game out and see if you like it before buying the expansion.
Opethian: D3 originally had an auction house, where you could buy/sell items for gold and for real cash. This would have been classed as 'in-app purchases'. The auction house was taken out though after massive and continued negative feedback since launch (well done Blizzard!).
For anyone on the fence and who may not know much about the Diablo series: The story and cinematic sequences in D3 are truly amazing. For 8 quid you're getting a decent single player game, with the option to do more once you've finished it. And as Ekko says, the RoS expansion brings in other things too. Worth it for this price imo.

Oh no, I shouldn't phrase it the way I said - £8 is amazing buy for hours of gaming especially for people like my Father who is still playing his Diablo 2 every weekend on the same character (he's making safe copy of his saves to USB pen-drive every Sunday... Which amaze me every week)
Definitely worth getting and Heat added for this one from me -> Just get Reaper of Souls when you can people!
Didn't actually know that, but then the game would need to be capped to level 60 not 70 and I am not sure how does it work, can level 70 RoS character join Vanilla 60 game? I actually don't know anyone without RoS in person to test this :disappointed:

Amazing game but unfortunately not really worth anything without the expansion pack Reaper of the Souls as it is just a storyline game in Basic Diablo 3 where RoS opening new game for the players with additional act 5, Adventure mode, Rifts, seasons and leaderboards ( Plus the new level limit up to level 70 where the D3 capped at 60 ) - If you getting this consider upgrading to RoS ASAP

No, not really, sure it would be nice to know the background lore, but the main story kinda explains itself and is self contained. It also helps to listen to the diaries you pick up.
No, this game is the same for everyone. there is no pay to win or anything of the kind. Only thing I can think off like that is cosmetic changes and to get that you need to buy limited edition of Blizzards games.
This game is amazing and we'll worth the money! I have put a fair amount of hours into this game so beware!!! It can be addictive, haha.

Excellent game, I too have hundreds and hundreds of hours in this game on all classes. I go back to it very often as the game is updated regularly by Blizzard (The developers). To fully utilise all aspects of the end game you will need to also purchase the expansion REAPER OF SOULS.
