NOT made by Vestel, a decent 4K TV with good colours/contrast/blacks and one of the few that has FreeviewPlay (Freeview on demand) as only Panasonic TVs (680b and above) have FreeviewPlay.

It 'nearly' has more stuff on it? So that means it doesn't have more stuff on it? And it's 10" smaller. Not really comparative.

Bought this TV and when you update firmware and get the settings sorted it is a cracking TV! Id say better than my mates Cx700 as viewing angle far better. Dont be fooled by 200hz vs 800hz. Hardly any difference. 680B is the one you want!

When buying a 4K TV, it's important to check if it has HEVC and VP9 decoder built-in, if it doesn't then the TV won't be able to stream 4K content from Netflix, Amazon or Youtube without a separate decoder.
It would be like having a Red Bull F1 car capable of going fast but with an underpowered engine.

Thanks for the info. I would put my self in he casual gamer category so should be fine . And I don't think 5ms is gonna help me on cod online as I'm awful :-)
55 ms input lag should be low enough for most users but discerning gamers will likely prefer a slightly faster TV i.e under 50 ms for competitive gamers. Over 75 ms will bother regular gamers who are playing fast games, and over 100 ms will be noticeable by just about anyone. Over 125 ms makes it pretty much impossible to play fast-paced games.

Unless watching sport as that's why it's there. Fast moving action. Motion can be very useful. But anything else i agree, switch it off.

I spoke to a chap in the panasonic store yesterday. He said panasonic stopped making their own panels as they're now working on oled. So they use lg and samsung panels these days. He said to look forward to their oled tvs coming soon.

Panasonic is also using LG panels in their new OLED sets. They're just doing the driver electronics. However, saying that, AVForums mentions that the picture quality is significantly improved. Review units aren't out just yet though and they're really expensive - 8K for the 65 inch:
Good deal but quite a slow panel at 200HZ which because it is 4K makes poor motion handling more visible relative to 1080p at ideal viewing distances.
Going to buy the 65cx700 model today (which gets slated for poor motion handling with an 800HZ panel) using the £300 trade in at Currys with 5 years warranty and cashback through work.
Good TV as long as people understand what they are getting, with the inevitable argument that money may well be better spent on a good 1080p set given lack of content ...

Don't be taken in by the big faux refresh numbers. Most TV's have a native refresh rate of 60hz, anything quoted higher than that is created by the TV adding additional frames or by a blinking backlight. You are never getting a true 200hz refresh rate, let alone 800hz.
It's all for marketing really. Putting the intelligent frame creation on makes things look awful, a real soap opera effect. Leave these setting switched off for the best viewing.

If people want to spend as little as possible say £300 for a 40" or £500 for a 50" rebadged Vestel than that's ok if they know they are getting a low end set.
I welcome the day Vestel produces higher end TVs, any competition is good and push for cheaper or better from all manufacturers.

Unfortunately Sony TV's with android os are crap. Great sets with the os being their achilles heel. They did a firmware update to improve performance on October 13, now its broken the chromecast function. Check out Sony uk support.
Also those wanting to invest in a new 4K set should seriously consider checking if the panel is a 10bit colour.

Vestel is a Turkish home and professional appliances manufacturing company. Sometimes they offer to build cheaper versions for other manufacturers like Panasonic, which aren't as good.

Very true so I did put a word of warning that Sony are slow updating their software, good sets though their support is lacking at the moment, constant pushing back of Android updates. Not a bad price though if they can sort out their software issues and add HDR support
Same model but with wireless bundle and 5 year guarantee - £1398.99
Update releases are never guaranteed though so it's a bit like counting your chickens if your're basing a purchase based on a feature available via a software update. You could be in for a long wait.

Not much going anywhere on the 4K area. One or two demonstrations on YouTube - a channel or so on TV where you have to PAY for it, and...thats it, really. 4K are quite literally, throttling their own appeal
Appreciate that, but to go so low in cost saving makes me think they'll do it in other ways too. I've put Panasonic into "not to be trusted" catagory - I'll be buying at least one TV shortly and wondering whether to wait until "Black Friday" and go for Samsung LG or Sony.
One I WON'T be considering is Panasonic due to the Vestrel/Made in Turkey slumming it.
