For those who don't know about banggood, I bought the same power bank a couple months ago and it works perfect and it's geniune, I also own 10400mAh old version and they both provide similar capacity. The website provides the official link to verify if your product is geniune: http://www.mi.com/verify/
Mine arrived in 2 weeks after dispatch, so be patient.
Advice: I would add £1.07 for the tracking number because of the restriction in sending batteries in China, so you can track it if there is a problem and banggood won't have excuses to resend it. £8.88 is still a great price.
Update: It seems like choosing free shipping WITHOUT tracking number is much faster, many people have already received it in a week!
Edit: 6% cashback via Quidco and TCB.

Deals that are available to the UK.
By your rationale, sites like Pixmania or amazon.de shouldn't be allowed either.
Why are you so hung up on your incorrect perception of what you think HUKD means?

Many overseas retailers are allowed on this site, e.g. DX, FocalPrice etc. Besides, it's a heads-up on a great deal as Xiaomi products tend to be a cut above the rest of this ilk. Suck it up and enjoy it!

I have used BangGood a lot in the last year and I will vouch for them. it was actually myself who put forward a lengthy email to the Admin at HUKD to allow deals from this merchant as they are genuine and have good support and better than many other Chinese resellers.
I have bought a lot of Xiaomi stuff online and many resellers including DX, ali and GearBest all stock way too many items that are copies.
I'm not saying these companies listed don't sell genuine items however they choose to stock copies as well. this makes buying genuine items a mine field as they tend to use different language to denote genuine and copies such as "authentic" or " genuine" however I personally ordered a replacement mi fit band from GB and it was listed as genuine with pictures however it arrived and it was a generic copy.
BangGood don't sell copies of Xiaomi stuff. if it says its Xiaomi its genuine and I have verified every purchase I have ordered through the xioami verification code or through knowledge of the product.
yes the items can take about 3 weeks to come however they are shipped from China. the powerbanks actually came in about 2 weeks so possibly being shipped through a different method due to it being a battery.
they also have good support. If you send them a message expect a reply in 48 hours its not instant but they are dealing with customers worldwide not just one country. they will come back to you.
I had an issue with a Xiaomi USB fan it just didn't work. they asked for a short video to show the issue. so took 2 mins to video it on my phone, upload to YouTube and send the link. 2 weeks later a new one arrived as a replacement.
it's a bit more work than a UK seller but you have to appreciate the price your paying is much lower and they have to protect their company from people just scamming them and lastly remember the size of their customers base.
overall I love BangGood for their honesty and reliable service. just don't buy things if you need it urgently, otherwise sit back and await your goods to arrive.
I would also say, don't bother with paying the extra for tracking, its not needed. every item has a barcode even if you don't pay which can be put into the 17 track website and it will give the location of the item if needed.
one of my Xiaomi earpieces took longer than I expected and emailed banggood they emailed me a tracking code (I didn't pay for tracking) turns out it was shipped 1day after my order was placed, arrived in the UK 5 days later and sat with freaking customs for 2 weeks. finally arrived at the start of the fifth week. unreal that it can make a trip around the world in five days and held up for 2 weeks in the UK.
it's also just been a Chinese national holiday so probably a bit busy fulfilling all the orders placed over this time. just fyi

Email them, they always refund for lost parcels.
Plus its only £0.86 for tracking.
This powerbank is exceptional for the price, unless youve one of the rare phones that can take 3a chargers now then this is the best you'll get.
Quality of the power cells, size, weight, build quality all outstanding.
Been running this on low beam for 5 hours and the power bank is still on three lights charge. Seems good for the price  Power bank isn't getting warm and the light is very mildly warm. Seems like a great light/battery for less than £13 (y)

At least your one arrived, still waiting on mine despite bang-good saying they would resend one to me. I think Bang-good are now off my trusted list given this deal and the Elephone deal I tried to buy from them last year.

First impressions are that I'm thoroughly underwhelmed by Banggood. I've never bought through this website before but the reviews sounded good, and power banks here are horrifically overpriced.
I placed my order on the 3rd November, and paid for Priority Air Mail for what supposedly is quicker delivery & tracking. Received an email on the 4th November to say the item had been shipped, but on my account there was no tracking number or tracking information. What I did see however was a timeline of my order and, in complete contrast to the email I received, my screen was showing the item was shipped on the 6th November.
I got in touch with the Banggood live chat so as to find out the whereabouts of the item. The customer assistant confirmed the item was actually shipped on the 6th November, but gave me a tracking number and the tracking website. No idea how they had the tracking number as it still wasn't showing under my account.
Anyway, as of today (10th November) the tracking number apparently doesn't exist on the website I was given. Thankfully I paid through PayPal and will be seeking a refund.
I see others have much more positive things to say, but I'm bitterly disappointed with the experience I've had. To have an email that completely contradicts the order status on my account, to pay for tracking and be given a number that is non-existent...to me this is unacceptable.

I checked on the xiaomi website with the code on the box but it only said that this xiaomi power bank and code is checked 1 time. Not sure if this is a confirmation of authenticity?

Hiya. I doubt it's broken just needs a full charge up. Most take between 7 and 24 hours according to others, leave it over night is my advice. Once all 4 bars stop flashing you should get 3-5 full mobile charges, and the bank should last a fair while if unused.

I would plug it in to your laptop/pc overnight until ALL lights stop blinking, then when they are all solid it should be fully charged. You can then click on the button and get all 4 lights showing briefly to view the power stored. FYI just purchased a spare USB iphone 5/5s/6 "lightning" cable for a £1 from £ shop for every day use/spares as most cables get kinked and i,d hate to be without mobile power.I,ve tried my power bank on a portable usb rechargeable speaker, iphone 5s,kindle,and my laptop, absolutely brilliant bit of kit!!! Simply plug via usb to laptop, wait until all lights stop flashing, then you can get maybe 3-5 full charges of iphone for example. I believe the power stores for quite some time in the bank,so great to keep in a briefcase, and for when enjoying a movie etc drains your phone/tablet.

Mine arrived today after ordering it on the 21st, so 8 days. As saintscouple I'm charging it now. The charger is delivering 1.18A from a 2A maximum, so it will indeed take upwards of 8h to fully charge.
I tell you what though, it feels nice and heavy and the finish on the alu is good. You could put it in a sock and maim someone with this.
Fully charged first-gen Moto-G from empty and fully charged Lenovo k3 Note from 33% and still half-full. This charger is pretty darned great. In comparison, the little EE-charger you get for free only chargers the missus' Moto-G to 50% from empty.

28 Oct 15#651
Yes the usb shouldn't have any MI logo on it.
if you look inside the usb chassis(on the powerbank), you should also see a very small MI symbol. It's pretty small but if you look with enough light you should see it.
I had it on mine (which arrived today)
But I think the best way of authentication is to enter the 20 digit code into the website. If it's fake the website will tell you.
avalon50 to puzzydee
28 Oct 15#659
I had a look inside the USB chassis on the powerbank using a 4.5watt LED light and a magnifying glass, and could just make out the logo at the back of the usb chassis. It was roughly halfway across or near the middle. Also the inside of the USB chassis is white and not black; I must have read it the wrong way round.
I'm convinced now, thanks

28 Oct 15#658
Yes I agree, I don't see why they would mix fake with genuine products.
I know for sure the one I received is genuine, and many other people have had the same result.
Any difference in design is prob due to it being the 10,000mah and not the 10,400mah powerbank.

How to obtain the security code
Locate the authentication label, scratch off its coating to obtain the 20-digit security code, then enter the code for verification.
The product you are checking is
Mi Power Bank
This security code has been queried 1 times
Close
I assume the label is genuine?

It should say something like
"The product you are checking is Mi powerbank, this security code has been queried once"

No it's a 20 number code that you should find on your packaging. You scratch the square to reveal 4 rows of 5 numbers.

I can't believe it's a "fake" - it'll just be a faulty unit. Ever heard of the bathtub curve? This indicates that things often fail when they are new, and doesn't mean that the unit is unreliable generally.

Still prefer my Anker Powercore+ 10050mAh because it has Snapdragon Quick Charge 2.0 on both the input and output for faster charging of the device itself and any phones connected.
It is however slightly taller than the Xiaomi and a hair thicker, but the width is the same.

Then with the utmost respect, your testing methodology is wrong.
The relationship between charge time, amps and batteries in parallel is incredibly simple and well understood. These are the type of questions that are on a GCSE physics paper.
I've also linked you to a page where they say the exact same thing, and that is a site about nothing but battery charging. You can find much, much more evidence if you simply do a Google search on this.
If you think this is incorrect (It can't get any more basic), then just think of the following: If you had 1000 of these cells in parallel and tried to charge them with 1000mAh charger - What do you think the result would be?
Quite simply, they either wouldn't charge, or would take forever. Why? Because the total capacity of the cell (all of them together) would be *huge*.
You've also linked a random Youtube channel with no context. Could you link the actual video, at the correct time where you're claiming something different is being said? Not that there isn't a plethora of evidence out there anyway that shows you need to divide the number of amps by the number of cells to get the per cell charge rate.
All this to one side, you're still missing the most important aspect: A device like this will only draw the amps it needs. The charging circuit is controlling this. It doesn't matter if you give it a USB charger that can supply 40 amps - it's irrelevant. It won't draw above what it needs - again, dictated by the charging circuit. So unless you're claiming something absurd like the charging circuit in millions of these devices are killing them (provide evidence!), again, what you're claiming about artificially limiting the amps it can draw for changing literally makes no sense.

Sure. This can deliver over 2A of current whilst your standard USB light will only draw .5A, so this charger will be great. It should deliver what your light needs without any voltage sag like you might get in a lesser charger. Probs not waterproof though so wrap it in a bag or something when it rains. Also, is a USB bike light not a bit low power?
[Edit]I see that some USB lights will draw 2A. This will still work fine and will be nice and bright.

Unfortunately not - the micro port is for power in only. You could get a standard USB plug to dual micro USB plug splitter lead and a micro USB socket to standard USB plug adaptor. The trouble with this is that the total current (rate of charging) the power bank can supply will be shared between these, and any intelligent current selection is unlikely to work, so they might charge slowly even if enough current is available.

If it makes you feel better, assuming you are going on a fair sized cycle tour, the pass through charging will be invaluable! I stayed at numerous hostels in Europe when I cycle toured. Many of them had lockable lockers with one charging point only. The pass through feature on this battery means you can charge both the battery and one connected device - at the same time.

This is so far off the mark.
You can't simply say X current = good, Y current = bad. You've taken an underlying tech issue (Li-ion) and applied these to a production unit, totally disregarding the cell type, charging circuit, what discharge type the cells are, the arrangement of the cells and many more issues I'm not going to list.
The manufacturer will have tested / will know the specs of the cells and how they should be charged. The charging circuit will take care of this. There is simply no way that you're going to put "1000mA" though a device like this and cause damage to the cells / lower their life.
There are 4 cells in this (4* 2600 mAh), arranged in parallel, specifically the LGEBB41865. When you charge in parallel, the voltage across the batteries becomes the same, but the capacity changes. Because of this, you now need to raise the amps so you can charge the higher capacity in a reasonable time (remember, there are 4 cells that the current is traveling into).
So yeah, stop worrying. What you're saying simply isn't true for end user devices like this. If you're a hobbyist for say model cars / boats / helicopters / drones, then sure, you need to know a bit more about charging if you don't have a good charger. But for phones / charging banks / any other normal end user device? Nope. It's not applicable for the reasons above.

Going to use mine on a prolonged cycling trip, so overall weight is important.

You did not need to buy such a powerful charger then. The more power it has, the heavier it will be
pibpob to leftfooter
24 Oct 15#556
It's the laws of physics - the more capacity you have the heavier it will be. If you'd wanted less weight you should have ordered one with a smaller capacity, but then it might not have provided you power for the whole of your trip.

As tempting as it is Chinese imported batteries are a gamble they could be very dangerous. They could blow up or nuke your expensive phone.

Most batteries in this world are manufactured in China. So I've no idea where you are going to source yours from! Also, why do you think that buying from countries outside of China will provide any more safety?!
At least these Xiaomi batteries have sold in the MILLIONS - and there are no reports of any safety issues. It also has a 9 layer safety system fitted...
You would be better off applying common sense rather than just dismissing all Chinese goods.

Well there may be something in that, but the advice may be less relevant than for bare cells (such as AA rechargeables). With power banks, phones etc there is a built-in charge controller which will at least ensure that you can't charge them at a ridiculous rate. Bear in mind also that there are four cells being charged in parallel so the current will be shared between them... even though the total current should actually be somewhat higher at cell voltage than that supplied at 5V.

The future must seem pretty bleak given how pretty much every major smartphone manufacturer is switching to fast charging technology (and bundling such chargers with their phones).
I think the concern over fast charging is just a hang up from days gone by when batteries would degrade rapidly regardless of the speed of charging.

ONLY if you are in a hurry and haven't prepared!!
If you want best capacity and excellent longevity of this powerbank then it's best to always trickle charge it overnight with a low current (500mA) the Li-ion cells fast charging (1000mA>) will significantly reduce their lives and lower their capacity holding ability.
People should get into the habit of slow charging batteries/phones overnight and only fast charge in emergencies imho.

Out of interest, why such a large discrepancy in the order times? I've intentionally never ordered anything (knowingly) from abroad purely because of the worry over fakes/fraud etc. But the reassurances from other people in these comments convinced me to purchase this.
However I ordered it on 11th of this month and my status has been stuck at "Processed Through Sort Facility FLYTEXPRESS-CN" since the 14th. Yet some people ordered it a week ago and have already got it. I really don't understand how their delivery system works. This lack of clarity is why I avoid buying from international sellers so much.

pibpob to johnnyd57uk

It charges the phone quickly because the outlet is supposedly "intelligent" and attempts to make the connected device (whatever brand it is) think it's connected to an official high-current charger and hence pull more current. I'm looking forward to receiving a USB current monitor to see what these things are actually doing.

Very pleased with mine.
Been using a 6000 ma Lepow Moonstone and an Anker 13000 with twin IQ ports to power my Note 1 when running Waze and both of them don't supply enough charge whilst I'm driving and my phone eventually flickers and conks out.
This one is actually able to charge it up whilst running Waze albeit at a slower rate (not sure why Waze is so power hungry.)
Thought the Anker may have been able to do this with the IQ ports but obviously not.

You charge this battery up at the plug and then you carry it with you wherever and use it to charge your whatever (typically phone, tablet etc) when your device gets flat and you aren't near a mains outlet.
So if you go camping or out for a couple days or something this would probably keep your phone running for several days before you need to get to a mains socket.

Ask someone else on here to upload their serial number. Then compare it to yours.
If they are different, then either BangGood are very good at counterfeiting, OR, the power bank is genuine.
Better still, if it looks and feels genuine, and performs as a 10,000mah 3.7V battery should, then just be happy with it.
(P.S. - Amazon frequently sell 16,000Mah batteries for ~£15...so the pricing for this Xiaomi battery is in line with that given that it is coming direct from China)

FYI though your completely correct in that you will get 6250mAh out - however your reasoning is all wrong... 3750mAh @ 5v of heat loss would be insane!
The main reason is that lithium cells are 3.7V - you have 10000mAh of capacity @ 3.7V - assuming 100% conversion efficiency that should give you around 7400mAh @ 5V, 6250mAh would suggest around 85% efficiency which seems about right.

It says it supports pass through charging but loads of power banks have 'supported' this but claim that it will shorten the life of the battery. Is it the same case with this one? It's not a vital feature but would be nice to have and would make it better than others who support it but advise against it.
wenttoabetterplace to leelukehope
17 Oct 15#376
It will almost certainly degrade the battery....
I actually bought an Anker IQ charging battery that has pass through charging. I find it really useful when travelling (one power plug charges my battery and 2 connected devices).
It's rather telling that Anker have disabled the feature on later variants of the same battery...
So yes - don't use the pass through charging feature all the time. Just use it when you have no alternative.

Sorry to say you've been had with that. They are useless, cheaply made and extremely overrated, vastly inferior to this Xiaomi. The solar charge function is worthless in anything other than full sun and even then it would take a week to charge. Leaving it out in a light environment (no direct sun) will fool it into thinking its charging, lighting up the stupidly bright status led's draining its battery as the panel cannot provide enough energy.

I only ordered it on the 2nd, so prob will have a while to wait yet.
I have ordered a few things from there, only things that are less than £5 in case they don't arrive. This is the most expensive thing I have bought from the site.
The longest I have waited for delivery has been 18 days.

deception is routine in business and especially politics, nobody even cares about this issue , if they did they would walk or ride a bicycle, the idea that some barely detectable rule has been brken, if it was obvious it would have been spotted years ago. meanwhile I guess you are quite happy to gas guzzle and import shed loads of stuff from all corners nt giving a ff abut your carbon footprint. what about Kraft changing recipes and educing portion sizes? i am not supportng misleading the public but almost nobody understands the issue and 90% of people probably dont care either,

For my phone, I've just got a spare battery - it's small, slim, fits in my wallet and only cost £3. It's great to know that it's there for emergencies or for when I'm out all day and am going to be using my phone a lot.
But I would still get one of these - it would be useful for my phone if I go away for longer periods of time, camping, or on holiday somewhere where the plugs are different, it could also be used to charge other people's phones as long as they have a USB cable for it. It also has use way beyond phones - I can think of about 100 uses for one of these with my camera equipment, for when I'm out and about taking photos/video, and it would also come in handy to power a Raspberry Pi or something like that.

One time, I bought a large high capacity battery from DealExtreme. It was for one of my old phones. It arrived promptly, looked ok, and had a good weight to it...a battery of that capacity would. It, however, wasn't the best in terms of construction. It worked okay though, but didn't seem to give me even close to the advertised power, and was in fact worse than my official, lesser capacity battery.
Being an idiot, I dropped the thing a few weeks after purchase...the plastic cracked open...and what did I find inside? 1 very small battery and 1 very large piece of rusted scrap metal. Just, literally, a lump of old rusty metal. Crazy.
Just thought I'd share that.

Is anyone sure that it's true pass-through? If it's simply charging the batteries inside whilst at the same time discharging them this will dramatically reduce their life-span. True pass-through would mean the current from the wall flows through a by-pass circuit when the batteries in the power-bank are fully charged.

I've got one of these, and the slim one. Both are great as are Banggood.
You can measure the amount of juice that flows into the battery by plugging it on as you're charging it up, and then plug it into its output and you can measure what comes out before it runs dry.
Useful little device - also tells you what current your devices draw and can let you know if you get voltage sag from when you're running things from battery.

For some bizarre reason when I went through Quidco, the option to track postage disappeared. It was there when I tried through the 'get deal' link...
Please be aware the mAH rating ive found to be very "generous" expect about 50-60% of the rated capacity in reality.
But i've never had a problem getting stuff from bang good nor getting a refund. But I don't doubt the dissers hear will bleat on like they usually do.
vulcanproject to whydoiwastemytimehere
7 Oct 15#44
No, that's normal. The quoted capacity is of the cells themselves, not the actual transfer output you can get from the power bank. You always sustain losses in the transfer, 65 percent is a typical figure from a decent power bank. These models have found to actually be generous, the cells are likely a little more than 10,000mah and tested to get as much as 70 percent efficiency in the transfer.
So if you have a 3000mah phone battery to charge, you'll get at least 2 charges from flat with this.
Azurren to whydoiwastemytimehere
7 Oct 15#45
Unless you get a fake these Xiaomi power banks really have 10000mah cells inside.
Of course with charging inefficiencies from boosting the voltage of the 3.7v cells to 5v and your phone / devices internal voltage step ups or step downs you should expect between 6250mAh and 7000mAh of actual usable power. 6250mAh quoted from Xiaomi themselves
It's like with cars. Manufactures often make bold claims about a 300bhp car where in actual fact the engine may be able to output 300bhp but by the time it's gone through the transmission and drive train it's drastically less. For cars we have a different measurement (bhp at the wheels), battery packs.. Not so much..
Edit: vulcanproject beat me to it while I was finding Xiaomi's actual figures :innocent:

Generally speaking, HK/China-based companies are allowed here if they have a business address that passes muster. I posted a bunch of deals for banggood a few months ago that weren't allowed, so I'm assuming that they have either revised their policy on this vendor or a mod has let it slip through.
There is no list, as far as I know, for users to view regarding which sites are allowed or not, but there is certainly no blanket ban on businesses outside of the UK. it simply has be available in the UK, which is why things like BestBuy wouldn't feature here.
Even if this ends up getting pulled, it'd be a shame because it's a genuinely good deal. You're usually paying at around £2.50 per 2,500mAh of lithium goodness. Most non-brand Chinese chargers like this have vastly over-rated capacities and pretty shonky electronics, so this Xiaomi (Chinese equivalent of Apple, some people have said) represents fine value for money.

Incorrect perception ? I had few deals pulled out because of campany beeing based outside of uk - thats what mod said in message ! Tyreleader is one of the best examples - great shop(EU based - not China) with cheap tyres but we cannot post deals from them !
Where is any mod to explain these things ? Shame...

Fantastic. Cheers OP. Just ordered a Yi from Banggood last week and it arrived ridiculously quickly. Great site.
Ordered a load more items last week as well so hopefully customs don't notice and delay everything.

This was posted abt a month ago, I bought one and in my opinion, it's one of the best and cheap, plus you can pay with PayPal.

Me too, they are at least as good as any other battery pack I've owned, I particularly like the fact they admit that the mAh is based on 3.6V (like all the others) but they state it on the description, rather than pretend you're going to get more charge out of it.
Mine arrived in 6 days from ordering, other stuff took longer but got stuck for 3-4 weeks by customs in the UK, a bit ironic that it took 4 days to get to the UK, then sat in a warehouse belonging to HMRC or whoever, for 7x as long.

this battery pack is a cut above those pricy ankers. you can't even get it at this price in China. loads of fakes around, I'd only buy direct from xiaomi

Funny that, they pay out cashback (TCB) but not pay this site for clicks/traffic/sales that could potentially generate them huge amounts of business.

Now £10.48
- cjdean1983
Still £7.81 in silver....

Ordered - 20/8/15
Shipped - 23/8/15
Received - Still waiting...
Decision is yours. Good luck :)
- vassy201187
Now £7.89
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
According to manual that supplied with it:-
* charge time is 5.5 hrs using 5V/2A charger, 10 hrs using 5V/1A charger (both using its supplied USB cable)
* its usable capacity output is 6250 mAh through the end of its USB cable (meaning for a rated capacity of battery 3000mAh in a device, this would charge it 2.1 times approximately when charging at 1A)
- splender
4-Nov: Now up to £10.54 for silver

By your rationale, sites like Pixmania or amazon.de shouldn't be allowed either.
Why are you so hung up on your incorrect perception of what you think HUKD means?
I would also say, don't bother with paying the extra for tracking, its not needed. every item has a barcode even if you don't pay which can be put into the 17 track website and it will give the location of the item if needed.
one of my Xiaomi earpieces took longer than I expected and emailed banggood they emailed me a tracking code (I didn't pay for tracking) turns out it was shipped 1day after my order was placed, arrived in the UK 5 days later and sat with freaking customs for 2 weeks. finally arrived at the start of the fifth week. unreal that it can make a trip around the world in five days and held up for 2 weeks in the UK.
it's also just been a Chinese national holiday so probably a bit busy fulfilling all the orders placed over this time. just fyi

Putting a claim in with my card provider tomorrow as I've had enough waiting for either the original or the replacement to arrive now.
Thanks
It has charged my phone twice from 0 to100%, and once to 67%.
My phone battery is 3200mah so I'm pretty pleased with that.
So in essence, if youre still waiting, don't mess around with their CS, go for the nuclear option, straight to paypal.
The product verification does not seem to work for me:
I have scratched off the silver coating, entered the security code here: http://www.mi.com/verify/
I have entered the calculation of the capta and nothing seems to happen
Thanks.
for phones 5.1v is only 6250 mah
Serial checks out on the Xiaomi website as genuine, plus it went from near enough zero charge to full in around 3-4 hours. Well pleased, especially for the price
I'm sure I read somewhere that tracked orders tend to get held up by customs because they assume the items will have a greater value because of the courier firms tracking label.
thanks
Mine took 2 weeks from them posting it to the actual delivery.
Received today 04/11/15
Excellent
I checked on the xiaomi website with the code on the box but it only said that this xiaomi power bank and code is checked 1 time. Not sure if this is a confirmation of authenticity?
If does, the the box is legit but how to check the power bank itself as the box wasn't sealed?
The code checked 1 time is normal as it includes your code check.
Tracking isn't providing much help as the item is 'received for processing'.
Banggood customer service hasn't been helpful either.
These charge everything and so easy to fit
Guess I'll just have to take my power bank with me on every holiday or when I'm away from home.
Also posted from Greenford (near Heathrow), so guess they have some staging operation in the UK and ship in batches.
Nice unit.
Shipped 28/10
Received 3/11
Checked the site and it seems it's legit  I expected it to be twice the size mind (Wish I'd purchased two now)
Now to charge it
Super speedy. Didn't pay for tracking. It seems to have British delivery details on! FlytExpress in Greenford. Thought this was a Chinese outfit?
edit: should mention the tracking still shows it processing in China, won't bother paying for it next time
What's the life span of the charger generally? Can it only be recharged only a particular number of times?
Simply plug via usb to laptop, wait until all lights stop flashing, then you can get maybe 3-5 full charges of iphone for example. I believe the power stores for quite some time in the bank,so great to keep in a briefcase, and for when enjoying a movie etc drains your phone/tablet.
I've had it on charge for hours now and the second light just blinks.
Looks quality, currently charging - I guess all 4 lights get lit once fully charged?

I kid, cheers for sharing your experience, I tend to avoid sites like this as I understand how easy the support is to flop selling internationally. Sounds like that's not the case here and they have some decent literate support setup. Will remember that
I have just checked my code and it's genuine however 1 concern is that there is nothing in the actual product to verify and only the box,
Impressive vs. other Chinese purchases I've made. I've had a quarter of duck take longer to be delivered than that!
Hope it helps someone who hasn't bought it yet
are the 4 lights supposed to stay on whilst a device is connected?
instructions were in Chinese so hoping my Q's can be answered here.
thanks

I tell you what though, it feels nice and heavy and the finish on the alu is good. You could put it in a sock and maim someone with this.
Fully charged first-gen Moto-G from empty and fully charged Lenovo k3 Note from 33% and still half-full. This charger is pretty darned great. In comparison, the little EE-charger you get for free only chargers the missus' Moto-G to 50% from empty.
Mine took about 8/10 hours to charge fully, and is now charging my kindle.
http://bbs.xiaomi.cn/t-11448814
This one is mine and cosher.
Are Aukey a good make?
if you look inside the usb chassis(on the powerbank), you should also see a very small MI symbol. It's pretty small but if you look with enough light you should see it.
I had it on mine (which arrived today)
But I think the best way of authentication is to enter the 20 digit code into the website. If it's fake the website will tell you.
I'm convinced now, thanks
I know for sure the one I received is genuine, and many other people have had the same result.
Any difference in design is prob due to it being the 10,000mah and not the 10,400mah powerbank.
it charges to 3 dots in a few hours
will test tommorow if its no good ill say it never arrived
Try another
How to obtain the security code
Locate the authentication label, scratch off its coating to obtain the 20-digit security code, then enter the code for verification.
The product you are checking is
Mi Power Bank
This security code has been queried 1 times
Close
I assume the label is genuine?
If the code is on the box how does it confirm its genuine? All it tells you is that the label is genuine
I'm now going to contact Banggood about this.
It then says it is verifying, so where is the result of verification now?
"The product you are checking is Mi powerbank, this security code has been queried once"
Just close and that's it. As long as it verifies that is a Mi powerbank that's your verification ( as far as I can gather)
Check the link I posted above for more info if you need
Then go to the verification page and enter the code.
There is a captcha code to enter as well ( on the verification webpage)
Check this for more info. http://webtrickz.com/how-to-verify-if-a-mi-powerbank-is-original-or-fake/
There seems to be a few of us having trouble with the product authentication though. Hopefully gets resolved.
dispatched on the 14th still waiting,
Pity the documentation is all in Chinese
Also, have you tried it with more than one power supply? I find it hard to believe that the other person on here had two faulty units and that it wasn't something to do with the thing they were charging it with.
My order has been stuck in Sweden for 11 days ("26/10/15 order departed from sorting hub").
I was never very keen on swedes.... or turnips for that matter.
Still prefer my Anker Powercore+ 10050mAh because it has Snapdragon Quick Charge 2.0 on both the input and output for faster charging of the device itself and any phones connected.
It is however slightly taller than the Xiaomi and a hair thicker, but the width is the same.
Also I really like the LED indicators on the Anker because it has 10 LEDs instead of the 4 on the Xiaomi. Anyway, for less than half the price of the Anker I can't complain!
Plus its only £0.86 for tracking.
This powerbank is exceptional for the price, unless youve one of the rare phones that can take 3a chargers now then this is the best you'll get.
Quality of the power cells, size, weight, build quality all outstanding.
In short: This contains multiple cells in parallel : http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=834
When you put cells in parallel and need to charge them, you need higher amps to sustain the correct amp draw per cell: http://www.chargingchargers.com/tutorials/charging.html - this is because the number of amps needs to be divided by the number of cells.
This theory applies to 4 cells in the same way it does with 4000. Here are some graphs (warning, maths!): http://www.instructables.com/id/Li-ion-battery-charging/
[Edit]I see that some USB lights will draw 2A. This will still work fine and will be nice and bright.
previous link doesnt work try this one
https://www.youtube.com/user/julius256/videos
As for mobile phone manufacturers, like they care if it kills the NONE user replaceable cell after 2 or 3 years! They can sell you another phone then ;-)
You should post your experience of their returns / refund process here
FWIW I'm happy with that sort of wait.
Thanks nomnomnomnom, this is for the 10400 model so the layout is different to the smaller 10000 model. I may crop out the tables on your photo and hash up a layout diagram from a photo on the Mi website. Not given up yet!
I know that these things are not complicated and I wouldn't normally bother, however I bought a couple of these as Xmas stocking fillers and the intended recipients are (with respect) technology cabbages!
I found the attached photo...
but I was looking for something a little sharper which I could print and put into the boxes.
Might need to crop the top slightly, but it's good enough to print.
Do u know if I can charge 2 connected devices @ the same time? One USB & one micro USB? (iphone & camera).
Very useful....and a feature that you don't normally find this side of £30.
Very nice product, very nice packaging.
Ordering 2 more as presents for other people.
In other words: http://www.chargingchargers.com/tutorials/charging.html
So yeah, stop worrying. What you're saying simply isn't true for end user devices like this. If you're a hobbyist for say model cars / boats / helicopters / drones, then sure, you need to know a bit more about charging if you don't have a good charger. But for phones / charging banks / any other normal end user device? Nope. It's not applicable for the reasons above.
Going to use mine on a prolonged cycling trip, so overall weight is important.
UK - Remember the EE recall of their power bars?
USA - Remember the Boeing li-ion batteries in the Dreamliner?!
Japan - How about the huge Sony battery recall a few years back?!
At least these Xiaomi batteries have sold in the MILLIONS - and there are no reports of any safety issues. It also has a 9 layer safety system fitted...
You would be better off applying common sense rather than just dismissing all Chinese goods.
I think the concern over fast charging is just a hang up from days gone by when batteries would degrade rapidly regardless of the speed of charging.
By your rationale, sites like Pixmania or amazon.de shouldn't be allowed either.
Why are you so hung up on your incorrect perception of what you think HUKD means?
If you want best capacity and excellent longevity of this powerbank then it's best to always trickle charge it overnight with a low current (500mA) the Li-ion cells fast charging (1000mA>) will significantly reduce their lives and lower their capacity holding ability.
People should get into the habit of slow charging batteries/phones overnight and only fast charge in emergencies imho.
Is it just the mods bumping it?
Just curious thats all, Thanks.
Not sure why people are saying it's big, for the amount of power it holds it's tiny! Absolute bargain! Mine arrived from China within 2 weeks. Defo use again.
Rizza
It looks very nice, well packaged like all Xiaomu products. It's fully charged as well.
Brilliant deal.
Bet you don't leave your dishwasher to run on an overnight cycle
Been using a 6000 ma Lepow Moonstone and an Anker 13000 with twin IQ ports to power my Note 1 when running Waze and both of them don't supply enough charge whilst I'm driving and my phone eventually flickers and conks out.
This one is actually able to charge it up whilst running Waze albeit at a slower rate (not sure why Waze is so power hungry.)
Thought the Anker may have been able to do this with the IQ ports but obviously not.
Lx
50000mAh for same price!!?? That one will definitely come with a bag of sand or two, trust me it won't last long.
Edit: it's supposed to weigh 207g. My reliable-ish kitchen scales say 210g.
So if you go camping or out for a couple days or something this would probably keep your phone running for several days before you need to get to a mains socket.
Charge it up (with a phone charger), stick it in your bag and you can charge your phone from it if needed.
"The product you are checking is Mi powerbank"..how can you be 100% sure?
If they are different, then either BangGood are very good at counterfeiting, OR, the power bank is genuine.
Better still, if it looks and feels genuine, and performs as a 10,000mah 3.7V battery should, then just be happy with it.
(P.S. - Amazon frequently sell 16,000Mah batteries for ~£15...so the pricing for this Xiaomi battery is in line with that given that it is coming direct from China)
Here it is:
http://www.mi.com/verify/
Came with 50% charge so it's currently charging my phone as I write this message.
Very chuffed - Cheers guys
Thanks
Ordered on the 9th
Just charged my Nexus 4 to full, 3 lights still left on.
It's quite heavy, feels very premium. Great value..
well done!! so happy now
£6.93 with all available discounts/cashback
Will use this in tandem with my Lepow Moonstone which my Note One running Waze drains faster than it can be charged.
Daughter wants a gold one now for her Iphone.
Very happy with it, thanks op.
Edit: never mind just seen above Royal Mail.
Shipped on the 16th by standard shipping.
All 3 were delivered today so I wasted a couple of quid paying more for the faster postal service on the first order!
Delivered by Royal Mail.

Seems suitably heavy and slightly smaller dimensions than my existing Lepow Moonstone - the latter being 6000 mAh but has been super-reliable for years.
I'll give this a test drive tomorrow, but it's looking good so far as it has that 'heft' to it
The main reason is that lithium cells are 3.7V - you have 10000mAh of capacity @ 3.7V - assuming 100% conversion efficiency that should give you around 7400mAh @ 5V, 6250mAh would suggest around 85% efficiency which seems about right.
Here is a 65p(ish) link! - no need to spend £2+
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391256241958
Hope this helps someone :sunglasses:
I've been on the Xiaomi website and confirmed it's genuine.
I don't know how long it will last but so far......
Also verified it was genuine
Ordered one week ago
Charging lg g4 now happy days and the supplied cable fits my phone
You should be able to track it here but it is probably still in transit to Sweden
I am very happy that many you have your power banks and you guys checked it (I am reading almost all comments) that it is genuine. It seems like choosing free shipping WITHOUT the tracking number is faster, only one week of waiting!
Just ordered another one
The battery seems well constructed and shows all the hallmarks of being the genuine article.
One note is that 10,000 mah is at 3.6v. at 5.1v it is 6,250 mAh
(Which reminds me)
Verified as authentic.
I must say I'm really impressed! High quality product & packaging! As said before, Apple would be proud!
I'm amazed at how small it is compared to my anker 15400mah.

get the KX2??????GB code from order page, then go here

paste the KX tracking code and enter the validation number you see and hit submit, then wait and it should show you the tracking history. works for me.

xxxx is your number obviously.
Very impressed ( just to add only paid the basic £7.81 )
received 3 weeks ago - charged it up

Better contact with them by email or live chat.
mine says untracked…
It is a good deal, but I would stick to tried and tested one likes Anker/Vinsic
If not, then aren't these not covered by insurance if they explode?
i have 16000 anker but have one of these on order as a back to the anker when its charging
http://www.miniinthebox.com/lepow-6000mah-battery-bank-for-mobile-device_p1087871.html
Only seem to get a couple charges out of it. Pretty decent, but want something a bit better all round, so fingers crossed.
Will test this on holiday mid November if it arrives in time.
Nice deal kxun :man:
This morning Igot a email telling me it has been shipped, 10 minutes later I get an email from facebook telling me someone from Singapore has tried to logging to my facebook account... I'm pretty security concious so is this just a coincidence?
hmmmmmmm
Thanks,
this item still has it's place though - new phone/phone battery or not - if you're without a charger / charging source for several days these things are great

Any li-ion battery has an inherent danger. Your phone, your laptop. This shouldn't be any more or less dangerous. Take the same precautions.
Thermal Detonator :-)
At this price it's worth a punt, and a great way to see if I actually need one.
All were bought from Banggood. They take a while to arrive.
Just make sure its not fake as xiaomi is a popular brand in asia.

I take everyone's comments with a pinch of salt in cases like this regardless if they have been a member for a long time, I implore others to do the same.

They have taken the time to sign up to warn others of a potential issue and then you have the audacity to criticize them?
I just thought it would be a good form of power for my Nook/Kindle/Tablet.
Email them or use the Live chat.
Can't do a screenshot but I assure you it ain't there!
Just tried on the iPad:
I only ordered it on the 2nd, so prob will have a while to wait yet.

I have ordered a few things from there, only things that are less than £5 in case they don't arrive. This is the most expensive thing I have bought from the site.
The longest I have waited for delivery has been 18 days.
Seen a few pop up but also get deleted. They don't pay the mods per sales. Their not allowed here. :/

Did you try typing 'bang' in the search box?
thanks Jane

great buy at the price.

And if it is above just look up how much it could be, never had "crazy"charges (just VAT and import duty as per the rules) but chances of having to pay are small anyway.
Let s get rid of the pointless instore deals totally or at least banish them to another part of the site.
I barely bother posting now. I really struggle to understand what the rules are any more.
I'm inclined to go for priority unless there's something I've missed.
For those of you who are concerned about ordering from Banggood, I've ordered quite a few things from them before and they've all come through fine. Just be patient as the orders can take a while to arrive
this 'type' of charger?
Being an idiot, I dropped the thing a few weeks after purchase...the plastic cracked open...and what did I find inside? 1 very small battery and 1 very large piece of rusted scrap metal. Just, literally, a lump of old rusty metal. Crazy.
Just thought I'd share that.
Just thought I'd share

I have delivered loads of 40 foot shipping containers full of tat like this from China.
If you are prepared to wait, buy direct and save yourself a few quid.
Nice to see you again.
I like Xiaomi stuff - Personally I'd be surprised if they have skimped on components in this new version, but without a teardown you never know.

Most of the specs seem to be exactly the same...
I did repay for the item though
came within a week
was smaller than expected and also deceptively heavy (more dense than sand anyway!)
used once so far - charged a moto g from 0-100% and still shows 4 lights
so far so good
Have you checked in spam section? Or maybe HUD collapsed their server haha.

Cheaper
Ah they may now accept this site now.
Also isn't there a 5% off first orders via the app if I recall.

Heat for this though, been on the lookout for one so will bite me thinks
It comes in 6 colors to choose, £2.20 but you can apply 5% voucher: b185f7; so it costs £2.08. A bit pricey in my opinion if you compare to the power bank.
http://www.banggood.com/KEWEISI-3V-9V-0-3A-USB-Charger-Power-Detector-Battery-Capacity-Tester-Voltage-Current-Meter-p-984613.html
You can measure the amount of juice that flows into the battery by plugging it on as you're charging it up, and then plug it into its output and you can measure what comes out before it runs dry.
Useful little device - also tells you what current your devices draw and can let you know if you get voltage sag from when you're running things from battery.
But i've never had a problem getting stuff from bang good nor getting a refund. But I don't doubt the dissers hear will bleat on like they usually do.
So if you have a 3000mah phone battery to charge, you'll get at least 2 charges from flat with this.
Edit: vulcanproject beat me to it while I was finding Xiaomi's actual figures :innocent:
sure it will mind as have never had a problem before. great deal for the money (if it shows up)
After a week reply again and they will process a refund for you.
Ive had 3 go missing from Banggood, not there fault, seemed to have been an issue shipping to my old work addy. Least they refunded me tho.
Where is any mod to explain these things ? Shame...
Ordered a load more items last week as well so hopefully customs don't notice and delay everything.
Mine arrived in 6 days from ordering, other stuff took longer but got stuck for 3-4 weeks by customs in the UK, a bit ironic that it took 4 days to get to the UK, then sat in a warehouse belonging to HMRC or whoever, for 7x as long.
