Ordered myself one of these, the reviews look fantastic and for the price I doubt you'd get anything better.
I have ordered loads from this company and never had any problems, other than once when customs poked a hole through something and broke it
Plenty of spares available and a version with a camera if that's your thing (most recommend doing without it and spending the money on a better one)
I picked up a couple of spare batteries for £1.88 each too.
Some links in first post.
Available in black or white.
Headless mode and return key.
Also has 3 modes, beginner, intermediate and pro
The $ to £ rate is a bit off on their site too - if you use google it's cheaper for some reason.
2.4GHz control system ensures the stronger anti-interference performance and powerful signal.4 channels ensure the stability and good performance.
6 axis gyro fly system with the more sensitive of gyro’s regulating, more stable and flexible flight.
The material and Propeller protector protecting itself from abrasion and crash.
360 Degree Rotation Headless Flying Mode allows the quadcopter to auto roll 360 degree, one key to rolling, more stability.
Can be equipped with camera (Not Included)
Smooth hovering performance is a great friend of photos and video capture.
About 100 meters control distance improve the flight performance.

The spare batteries are £1.88 , just buy a few and you'll have plenty of fun.
Also it states the same with the camera version, so I'd imagine without that weight you may get a little longer - once you are proficient you can remove the guards on the rotors for a little extra.
You could also wire 2 batts in parallel, velcro them together and get double time - at the cost of burning the motors out quicker - but they are cheap to replace too (£3.36 for a full set). Link
But as with the added weight of the camera, it would impede performance as shown in the video.

Nice spot, not a company I've ever dealt with though. Has 5.3/10 on trustpilot vs 8.7/10 for Gearbest. They don't fare much better on other review sites either - given that I'd stick with Gearbest, but it's entirely up to you.

Battery wise, we're limited by technology, even my self built is only pushing - mins. Unless you put thousands in you won't get more than 15-30 mins.
I'm sure this quad is alright but I'd got for a Husban X4 or Syma X5 for not much more, both great with spares of every single part for dirt cheap, rather than a few spares of the main bit.

I am thinking of buying my boys the Husban X4 as their first quadcopters, do you know if you can fly 2 or 3 in the same area at the same time? or is there any interference.

I don't think you can get in the UK for this price, as for the camera either get one worth getting, or don't get one at all.
Watch the video's in the first post and the guy recommends one (808 HD keychain type) which he just velcro'd on, if you buy a really cheap one I'm pretty sure you won't be happy with it. I notice alera (post above this) got one on ebay, maybe pm them and ask which item number.

18 Oct 15#40
This is the trouble, you could pay £10 or £20 and still get a crap one - the seller generally will have no idea what they have bought, so it's not like you can even blame them!
I suppose the best way is to look at reviews on the actual sites (gearbest, Banggood etc), of that item , some even leave very detailed reviews with photo's and video - of course you can't do that on ebay really as you usually get the standard feedback of 'arrived quickly, good seller' which is as much use as a chocolate teapot!
Of course you need to be able to fly the thing first! I bought one without a cam as I have a cheapo mini dv cam which I can try - my theory is if I get to the point where I can fly it well, I may trade up to something bigger that can carry a proper cam, but I seriously doubt that will ever happen - for most of us buying this it's a cheap gadget to mess about with for a while, then it will gradually make it's way to the cupboard of no return, only to be found years later!

dcx_badass
18 Oct 152#41
Should be fine, just pair them one at a time, you normally turn the controller on, turn the quad on and then flick the throttle up and down again and it will beep or flash to let you know they are paired, repeat with the next one until each is pair with it's own controller. Takes seconds.
£24 on gearbest, my experience of the camera on quads is they are a waste of time, quality is awful but then kids might like the novelty. If you're getting three, I'd get spares of everything, loads of propellers 20+, at least a set of motors, probably 5 batteries each etc. I'd say £24 per quad and the rest on spares to take it upto £100 (main expense batteries).

Couldn't agree more about the spares advice - the one I posted is a quite newly released one, and I would assume as it seems very popular the spares will come in soon, generally speaking anything good gets cloned and cloned again, which is good (for cheap spares), and bad ( for the quality of the actual copter)
I did, after a bit of digging find some spare props Here for $3.99 for a set of 4 + p&p
I am a member of a flashlight forum which allows me to pm a gearbest rep directly, so I have done asking about spare props from them, as soon as I know more I'll post it on here
Main thing you need to do is make sure you get the right parts, the camera and none camera versions use different parts. So you'll see higher capacity batteries but they're for the camera version, which has different motors, so again need to watch out for that. I've linked to parts for the H107L none camera version. You can get the prop guards in diff colours so they can have a diff colour each to know who owns each.
Just checked mine, those propellers are the same size and shape as my X5C props so should be able to get them much cheaper.

The key chain cams are all clones on eBay etc. It's like anything from China could be great for money or throw in the bin. The one he has on video looks identical to one I got but that means nothing really. At the end of the day it's £3, got its own power supply and even if it's crap it will almost certainly be far better than the 2mp rubbish you get on these cheap quads. Pot luck worth a go for £3, someone will come along with a link for a decent cheap one at some stage

blister
10 Nov 15#82
Got mine today. The controller has scratches on front and rear too. Probably a result of no care and attention at the factory.
The battery connection on the drone was bent so the battery wouldn't connect. Sorted that only to find the controller wouldn't power up. Found the metal parts in the battery compartment weren't making a good connection.
Once I'd fixed that I got the drone to fly. Too windy outside so flew indoors. This model is a bit twitchy for indoors and the throttle doesn't seem to be linear, making it hard to hover. Slowly increasing throttle allows a smooth liftoff but when reaching the required throttle to hover a tiny movement of the throttle makes a sudden large increase in power so you have to react quickly or you fly too high. There seems to be a dead spot in power delivery.
So my example is not easy to hover but I'll see how it performs once outside.
I have several quad drones of various sizes to compare this with and this is certainly not the most fun to fly but its pretty cheap!

11 Nov 15#85
Check the 2 pins on the drones battery connector are straight. If they are bent at all then the connector will make contact but only till the wires are moved then the contact is lost and down goes your drone. Mine was exactly as you describe out of the box. Think our drones were made on a Friday afternoon!

Mine did this the first time I plugged the battery in, then I noticed that if you give the plug another push it click in firmly.
My problem is that the power switch on the remote doesn't stay on, so it has to be taped down to keep pressure on it.
I've only flown it inside so far, it has a lot of power so is difficult to maintain a constant height, but it is very stable.
