I did search and couldn't find nothing about wireless adapter. Oh well, my bad.

no its like having a direct hdmi cable plugged in, so complete mirror of anything you do on the device you are using (also can be used as an extended desktop) Things like sky go work and are not blocked etc.

Apologies for not replying sooner.
At the time of Sigma's posting I was driving to work so didn't want to get nicked for using my phone while in control of a motor vehicle. When I got to work I knuckled down and got on with what I am paid to do instead of sitting looking at the Internet all morning.
I'm finding a bit of time to have some lunch so this is the earliest opportunity I have had to reply without either getting arrested or fired. Sorry about that, I have realised my mistake and won't do it again.

m.ad to beanoni
30 Oct 151#35
I played with one of these yesterday, adapter plugged in to TV via HDMI (obviously) and a laptop connected to it. Fired up the Force Awakens trailer from YouTube - sound played from the TV and ran smooth at 720p. Bit of stuttering at 1080p but could be due to other variables. Other than that I was very impressed

I am guessing this is carp compared to the Chromecast because the Chromecast effectively just receioves the link and login information from your device and connects diretly to YouTube/NetFlix etc rather than going Via your device. I have tried Choecasting pages in my browser and it is rubbish and laggy.
I am guessing the latter is the way this device works so reliant on the CPU/RAM etc of the the device.

Dave_c

to be honest from my windows tablet the lag was not too bad, no way you could play games on it though, but i did see a lot of artifacts which get worse the further away from the adapter you are

Mine was opened just said it wasnt fit for purpose and useless too me so want a refund
Just as a matter of interest, what was the 'purpose' it's not fit for?
Got one of these in on a trial and worked perfectly for mirroring a surface pro, Lenovo tab, linx tab, dell pc (using Intel widi software) and two phones. Extended desktop, with local video and Netflix, as well as mirroring. The phones even worked really well when using the camera as a roaming feed to the TV - got to about 40ft away and no real issue either.
Only thing that lagged a little in our test was a Samsung galaxy.
Dave_c
3 Nov 15#60
Seems like everyone has different experiences, just wasn't as smooth as i was expecting compared to other types of streaming i use. I actually find splashtop streamer faster than this. Maybe it's the kit im using.

3 Nov 15#61
Could be, as I said found a galaxy a little choppy so it seems the new tech is at the mercy of all the different hardware/software combinations (by the way, have you updated the firmware on the adaptor? We had issues until we did that)

3 Nov 15#62
Works great for me, what you need to remember, it is a direct wifi connection to the device, its not like chromecast that uses your router as a middle man..
Dave_c
3 Nov 15#63
yeah firmware was all updated. Maybe im expecting it to be like airplay, but like you said that's via the router like chromecast. Still prefer the quality via hdmi cable even if it is a pain.

I returned mine for refund after I contacted MS and asked if they are partnered with TCB and they said they aren't and they can't garanteed and TCB FB administrator wasn't helpful either, said that I will get cashback in around 6 weeks when they will get paid by MS which MS said they ain't paying that company nothing.
Anyone who has chance to return it, I would highly recommend it
