I've been looking at the Microsoft Store on any deals regarding the latest devices and stumbled upon a hefty £42 of cashback for the Bluetooth Arc Touch Mouse and Wireless Display Adaptor through TopCashback.
These retail for £59 so the resultant spend is £17 which is really good, especially for the mouse. There are a few other cashback on other devices (Band, Office, Partner laptops) at lower amounts, however if anyone is interested is definitely worth a look.
Dell XPS 13 Laptop - Both Models - £252.20
Office 365 (Yearly Subscription) - £30.30 (student discount eligible)
Microsoft Band 1 - £20.20
Update: Cashback now tracks at £40.40 for mouse and adaptor

I just spoke to the Microsoft Store about the returns process and I think there is a workaround here that gives us up to 60 days to return the product.
- You have 30 days to contact MS about returning the goods and requesting a return label.
- Once that has been issued, you have a further 30 days to actually return the goods and still get a full refund
If the cashback takes 45 days (circa 6 weeks) to track at the full amount, then there is still plenty of time of return the goods if the cashback does not work out ...

It is a nice deal, but Microsoft only has the old gen infinity display xps 13 and 250£ cashback is maybe too big a gamble for me.
I am pretty sure you will be able to pick one up for about the same some time soon without cashback.
For me TCB is great as I can transfer to clubcard and then double it. But 250£ would take 5 years to convert and even then it is not possible as you can't split large transactions.

It only works with Win 8 and upwards. You also need Bluetooth 4.0. I originally bought this at £29.99 only to find it wouldn't work with my Win 7 PC with BT 3.0. I upgraded my laptop to Win 10 and bought a USB BT 4.0 dongle just for the mouse ... and can say that it was totally worth it. It is an awesome design and very responsive on all surfaces.
It's a steal at £17.99

There have been a few cashback deals which state that they will initially track at a lower amount until confirmed by the merchant, but I can't see this mentioned in the Microsoft T&Cs. I wouldn't worry, but I have taken a screen grab just in case. TCB have been pretty good in my experience - a few months ago Gala Bingo stiffed alot of people by pulling their £30 cashback offer, and TCB offered to pay the cashback whilst they argued with Gala.

Don't get me wrong. This is a hot deal, and it's why I looked into it in the first place.
But at normal RRP, I would choose a proper Death Adder over this. Can I ask why you're attempting to compare a wired 5 button gaming mouse to a 3 button Bluetooth one?
As for longevity, I have two of the 2.4Ghz versions for media centres around the house and they've been abused and gamed with for 4 years and still going much stronger than my 2013 death adder which is a year old and looks like I've dragged it behind my car, it's nothing like as good as my old blue deathadder, the build quality on new Razer stuff is well below par for the cost.

I have this mouse, scrolling takes a while to get used to, and every few hours it seems to randomly 'stop' but as soon as I either touch the touchscreen it then works again (or plug received in to a different port). Sometimes scrolling becomes unresponsive so you need to unplug or switch off and on again. I didn't realise it folded to turn off - I trod on it once and thought I'd broke it!

Hi there,
Your Missing CashBack Claim has been put ‘On Ice’, as the merchant in which you are claiming against imposes a validation period of 45 days.
We will need to keep your claim on our system until this time period has elapsed from the date in which you have completed your transaction, thereafter it will be automatically released after 12 Dec 15 and sent over as part of the next claim batch.

30 Oct 15#111
I was thinking of doing this for that purpose. What do you mean it would take 5 years? Do TCB only allow you to convert £50 to clubcard points per year?
Nexusfifth
30 Oct 15#112
Yeah the limit is 52.50£ a year and you can't use only a part of transaction, so for example I got a 65£ cashback and I couldn't convert it to clubcard at all (as they don't let you use only 50£ of that transaction).
So that 250£ of cashback can't really be converted to clubcard at all. (I was wrong saying it would take 5 years...).
Also I tend to not really count in the cashback when I am considering a price, as it is not guaranteed after all and is a (low risk) gamble but rather consider it as a bonus but require that the purchase itself is a good deal in the first place... Avoids any major disappointments.

3 Nov 153#122
I just spoke to the Microsoft Store about the returns process and I think there is a workaround here that gives us up to 60 days to return the product.
- You have 30 days to contact MS about returning the goods and requesting a return label.
- Once that has been issued, you have a further 30 days to actually return the goods and still get a full refund
If the cashback takes 45 days (circa 6 weeks) to track at the full amount, then there is still plenty of time of return the goods if the cashback does not work out ...
slashformayor to fat tony
3 Nov 15#124
Their terms and conditions state that you have 30 days from delivery of a physical product to issue a return, and then you have 14 days from date of starting the return process to deliver the item back to microsoft. Taking delivery times into consideration you safely have 5 weeks + to return the item for refund, as long as it hasb't been opened or used.

As noted by earlier posts there is a specific dispute claim if you follow through the dispute claim process. Says they will forward it on to Microsoft on the 12th of December.

Just heard back from TCB that the reason the claim can't be initiated until December is because of Microsoft's return policy. So technically they're policy is 44 days (14 to initiate and 30 to send the item). Have a feeling that once the "ice" period is over they're not going to honour the correct amount so just a ploy to suck loads of people into spending £60 on a mouse

The mouse was listed when i made the claim. I'm confident we will get the cash back. I've had another issue with another provider (Gala Casino) on Topcashback and Topcashback paid out the money themselves. I'm extremely confident given that the provider is Microsoft in this case and there was a specific element for the higher cashback and that it did appear in the claims form that we will see the cashback eventually. its just a matter of making the claim and waiting.

Has anyone else received a messages to confirm the purchase price EX VAT? I copied my EX VAT
price straight from my order confirmation email. The confirmation shows the EX VAT price as Subtotal: £48.38, but Topcashback record the purchase price as £46.70.
luvclub to alphamusic
17 Dec 152#190
My order was £49.99 + £10.00 VAT = £59.99. I don't know where you got £48.38 from unless you used a discount voucher/code which may invalidate your cashback.
I made a manual claim as the cashback was tracking as £0.48. I submitted the purchase value as £49.99 as they mention several times that the EX VAT figure should be used. Also, in the additional information box they also asked for the whole of the order confirmation email to be copied and pasted in.
Later on I received a message from TCB asking for the purchase value EX VAT again. They then submitted the claim to the merchant. I'm guessing this is to 100% guarantee all claims are indeed using the correct figure of £49.99 as the EX VAT figure and not the £59.99 INC VAT figure.
alphamusic
17 Dec 15#191
Thanks for the info! My total was £59.99 as well, no codes used. It's all a bit strange. At least it's nice to see that your cashback tracked at lower than £49.99, so that seems in line. Now all we can do is wait for a decision.
luvclub
17 Dec 151#192
I can't really see how they could avoid paying out as my £0.48 has already been confirmed and reached "payable" stage, so that is proof enough that they acknowledge the purchase and tracking to my TCB account. The only issue now is that they have not paid the full promoted £40 and there is no denying by them that it was £40 as there is plenty of proof around that it was.

Did it not even track at a lesser amount before you made the manual incorrect/missing cashback claim?
Mine tracked at 55p!! This has already reached the payable stage, but I'm not taking it. As I said before this is proof enough that they've tracked the sale to TCB, so they can't worm their way out of it using their usual crappy made up excuse of the sale being tracked to some other referral site.
If the original £40 cashback was wrong then they had plenty of time to notify people of the fact, so that we could have had the option to return the products for a refund. If they did not then that is blatant false advertising.
That was a Quidco deal. What helped was tweeting at Quidco customer support. We then had a Quidco rep come on to the thread and assure us that things will be rectified. All cashback was paid.

Yep...but they both use similar Europe based tracking companies - and more importantly, they both rely on good word of mouth from their customers. If you flood their twitter feeds with clearly explained concerns, then you will almost certainly get a quick response. Twitter is often the public face of these companies - and they don't want their company name dragged through the mud by aggrieved customers.
If you just call their customer support line, or email, then they can internalise the problem. Hit their public facing support services, and you'll make progress.

Just had what appears to be their final decision:
Hi there,
We have recently heard back as regards to the status of your Missing CashBack Claim.
I’m afraid that the merchant has taken the decision to decline your missing commission claim, no information in helping to clarify as to why this decision has been reached has been provided but we would like to provide some possible reasons…
• The merchant could not prove that your queried transaction has been the result of a Top CashBack referral, and therefore is not eligible for a commission (or cashback) payment.
• The merchant does not feel that you have met their terms for qualifying for cashback.
• There may have been another entity involved prior to or during your transaction that your commission may have been awarded to, as they may have been marked as the referrer to this.
• The merchant is not happy with the validity of your transaction.
• The merchant believes that you have already received the correct amount of cashback in response to this transaction.
• The merchant may not have been able to locate your queried transaction, based on the information that you have supplied (especially that in which you have provided as your main ‘Order number’).
Whilst no reason has been communicated on this occasion, when a claim is declined there is invariably a solid reason for this.
We are sorry that we have not been able to recover anything for you on this occasion.
I hope that any transactions you go on to make in the future go a lot more smoothly for you.
Kind regards,
Beccy

I've just sent them a nudge. i suspect however they have no intention on paying out on this cashback despite it being very clear when buying the item that there should have been £42 worth of cashback.
I'm not really sure what options are open to dispute this but i for one will be rather vocal on all social media about how appalling their service really is. I've had this happen a few times now and this is the last time i will ever use them. Its fair to say that cashback isn't guaranteed and there can be issues with cookies etc but its clear to me that they haven't paid out to a single person so the issue is systemic in this case.
If you look through various forums topcashback has a terrible reputation

Do what I did on the Switch 11 thread (Quidco). Tweet their TCB Twitter account with details of what has happened and why it is not on. Ideally, link to the original screenshot of the deal when you first signed up for it.
Better still, get multiple people on this thread tweeting similar stuff....and do it repeatedly. It worked for Quidco (we had a rep assigned to the deal who then followed up with us until the cashback was paid).
Twitter is your friend in this instance.

To be honest, this is also my first use of TCB as I normally use Quidco. No real reason for the preference before now. Certainly never again and really disappointed with the response.
I'm pretty shocked at the abuse of this system by Microsoft and the lack of interest from Topcashback to resolve. It's obvious i used the system correctly as they have tracked the purchase but at 53pence, not£42 as advertised.

Just replace the Quidco support handles with those of Topcashback - and also put in the URL for this mouse deal.
This was the response I had from Quidco (just an hour after I sent the initial tweet):
Thanks for the heads up. An update on the matter is now on the thread & further updates will continue to be provided.

Make sure you post all TCB replies on the FB thread and on this forum.
Also, it would be helpful to find a person who has received cashback. If not one person has received cashback, then this would seem like fraud on the part of TCB/Microsoft. After all, the deal was clear, and you all had successful cashback tracking....

Hi Neil, we are awaiting a payment to cover a lot of member transactions with this merchant. However, this doesn't mean the merchant will pay the full commission if this is not something we should receive. We really do need to help members with this on a case by case basic so we can look into their claim to see if it is a transaction we are expecting additional payment for or whether it is a claim that has been declined for another reason. I would ask that members get in touch with us so we can look into their claim and help them further. Best wishes, Matt

Nah - he is just trying to keep you off of social media. It's easier to fob you off when no-one else can read what is being said.
Just explain to him that the situation is very simple. The cashback terms were clearly stated, and you therefore ordered the item in good faith. If there is evidence at TCB's end to show why your claim was declined, then you would like TCB to explain that via the Facebook thread or on this thread.
If no evidence can be provided to justify the failed cashback, then you of course expect the cashback to be paid...either from the money given to TCB from Microsoft, or by TopCashBack themselves. After all, if the customer (you) have done nothing wrong as per the terms and conditions of the cashback, and everything has tracked correctly, then it is incumbent on TCB to provide the resolution to the problem - either by pressuring Microsoft (by threatening to ban them as a retailer), or by paying out directly from their own money.
The cost of whatever mistake has been made will not be shouldered by the customer. That is a breach of trust. It would also be interesting to put in a small claims court action to get some kind of legal precedent so that these companies can't mess about again in the future.

Just received confirmation of the cashback! Minus the £5 fee for being a TCB member there is now £38 on its way to my account.... Shame it had to get to social media shaming to prod this in the right direction but having given up all hope of getting this cashback I can now lovingly look at my £17 mouse for the bargain it was always supposed to be lol!!!

Got my 3 lots of £42 too!
I believe you only get the extra £2 (5% extra) if you have paid for the Plus membership.
If you are indeed a Plus member then it should be a simple case of sending them a support ticket explaining the underpaid cashback to get it corrected.

Hi vanilla, you can try Twitter which I used with great success. @s11auxwell if you want to retweet etc... Pretty quick response and seemed to snowball on to every body else which was nice. Hope it helps and good luck

Thanks, but M$ didn't report it to topcashback so they (he) said there isn't anything they could do. I cannot believe I paid £60 for this POS mouse.
Opening post
These retail for £59 so the resultant spend is £17 which is really good, especially for the mouse. There are a few other cashback on other devices (Band, Office, Partner laptops) at lower amounts, however if anyone is interested is definitely worth a look.
Arc Mouse £59.99 - £42 = £17.99
Wireless Display £59.99 - £42 = £17.99
Also including other cashback for visibility:
Dell XPS 13 Laptop - Both Models - £252.20
Office 365 (Yearly Subscription) - £30.30 (student discount eligible)
Microsoft Band 1 - £20.20
Update: Cashback now tracks at £40.40 for mouse and adaptor

- You have 30 days to contact MS about returning the goods and requesting a return label.
- Once that has been issued, you have a further 30 days to actually return the goods and still get a full refund
If the cashback takes 45 days (circa 6 weeks) to track at the full amount, then there is still plenty of time of return the goods if the cashback does not work out ...

Must be some hardware issues or software conflicts, if didn't worked for you.
PS isn't the real deal here the Dell XPS 13 deal?
I am pretty sure you will be able to pick one up for about the same some time soon without cashback.
For me TCB is great as I can transfer to clubcard and then double it. But 250£ would take 5 years to convert and even then it is not possible as you can't split large transactions.
It's a steal at £17.99

But at normal RRP, I would choose a proper Death Adder over this. This comes from a 2 years experience on a Death Adder, which comes after 9 years of using the same Diamondback Magma (which still works but the cord is loose sometimes and I haven't bothered to fix). I doubt this stylish mouse would last as long, and be as versatile.

The price you pay is just the price and everything depends on cashback, which is not guaranteed.
I've had Microsoft turn me down for larger cashback amounts before, even after they have tracked, even after clearing cookies before going through cashback.
Left a poor review on the cashback site, which was removed because Microsoft disagreed with it!
is the £42 cashback for premium members of TopCashBack does any one know?
As for longevity, I have two of the 2.4Ghz versions for media centres around the house and they've been abused and gamed with for 4 years and still going much stronger than my 2013 death adder which is a year old and looks like I've dragged it behind my car, it's nothing like as good as my old blue deathadder, the build quality on new Razer stuff is well below par for the cost.
Lovely mouse but very annoying and buggy.

Also got a £10 store credit code from previous purchase is this going to invalidate cashback if I use it??
Comes up as £59 for me. You must have the 'express delivery - £10' option checked.

45 days would be too late for a return, this is gonna be tough
Hi there,
Your Missing CashBack Claim has been put ‘On Ice’, as the merchant in which you are claiming against imposes a validation period of 45 days.
We will need to keep your claim on our system until this time period has elapsed from the date in which you have completed your transaction, thereafter it will be automatically released after 12 Dec 15 and sent over as part of the next claim batch.
If you notice that your expected cashback tracks in the meantime, can you kindly close this claim as soon as possible using the button labelled ‘Close this claim’.
Kind regards,
The Missing CashBack Claims Team
Can't seem to find the mouse on my work laptop (Windows 8.1). My Linx 7 (Windows 10) found it instantly.
If you want to compare wireless and 3 buttons mouse, I have 2 cheap ones too from CPC at £3.99 each. Do the job just as well as this one, and also abused by my 3 children.
And if you find this mouse comfortable for gaming or long hours on the machine, good for you
I can't make my mind up, was ordered for my dad's christmas present but he has a windows 7 laptop.
Then again I have a win 10 laptop with bluetooth but i dont travel enough to warrant using an expensive mouse :disappointed:
Just been posted by UPS  they seem to be wanting to get rid of these things quickly ...
Sounds to me like you're finding problems that aren't there. The cashback will uplift to the correct amount in due course.
There was an issue with another seller where they would not honor the higher amount and to topcashbacks credit they covered the loss.
I'm wondering what to do-should I return the mouse, it's still unpacked... I dont want to spend 60quid on a mouse
Should we bother doing this?
Arc Touch Bluetooth Mouse :
I Spent £XX expecting £40.00 cashback
Wireless Display Adaptor :
I Spent £XX expecting £40.00 cashback
They put it on hold because they have some validation period of 45 days with merchant.
The fact there is a specific claim option for the mouse for the £40 quid makes me feel confident they will eventually pay out.
Invoice says 49.99 without tax. TCB says 50.50 but the real amount should be £12. Numbers seem a bit confused.
How do you live chat with them? I remember doing before but cannot find a link to it now?
"Please only enter the NET value of your purchase as seen on your receipt / order confirmation. If any other value is entered the claim WILL BE declined."
NET is before the VAT is added, right? I think I'm going to have to submit a claim too shortly.
There still time to return mine-it's still in original packaging....
Won't be using TCB / Microsoft store ever again.
scumbags
Any idea as to why Microsoft say 14 days to initiate it, then 14 days to return it when actually by law your allowed to return it within 30 days anyway.
They just seem to be confusing and misleading people ...
http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/consumers/shopping/returning-unwanted-goods/index_en.htm
Says 14 days to initiate within cooling off period so I have gone over this ...
Also
http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/problem/can-i-cancel-an-online-order-
Only mentions 14 days and not 30 ...
Do you have a link to where you have seen 30 days?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-34403005
I presume you are having that well known issue with your mouse where it constantly drops the bluetooth connection  ?
They said due to black Friday my label may not get processed for up to a week but they said I called within the return period so I am covered.
Note (for others) they also give you a reference number and a number for UPS to call to pickup the item.
Thanks.
Edit: They rang me back to tell me that I no longer need to wait! got the email with return label.
Asked for confirmation... May ring CC for advice also
He's posted two MS deals and he hasn't been online for the same amount of time from the date he first posted this deal.
Seems kind of odd if you ask me...?
EDIT: Lady couldn't authorise it as it was the last day? She has escalated it internally to her manager to get approval (could take 48 hours).
If you try to raise a claim it does raise it as a £40.00 cashback claim...gonna sweat it out for 2 weeks
Sometimes you don't get the cash back.
I'm not able to pair this mouse with my mac book pro retina running El Capitan.
This device is not showing in bluetooth listing.
Did you guys do anything to pair it?
price straight from my order confirmation email. The confirmation shows the EX VAT price as Subtotal: £48.38, but Topcashback record the purchase price as £46.70.
Dropped off at UPS point a week ago - will chase if no update or refund
Please be kindly informed that for the last few days I have been able to investigate on the topcashback matter, and unfortunately, the only method of getting the refund is to send out the package and as soon as it will reach the warehouse, the refund will be processed for you.
If in the end we don't receive it I'm construct an email with all the users in, who've lost out here. This is just not on!
Now my claim is in 'waiting for merchant' status.
I will be really **** off if this cashback's not gonna get sorted-simply because I don't like this mouse-tried it few times and it's no where near as good as my Logitech
It's gonna be a shame if it turns out that I spend 60 quid on something that just lying there covered in dust...
They will have to do something about it
Mine tracked at 55p!!
If they did not then that is blatant false advertising.
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/acer-aspire-switch-11-sw5-111-13sw-199-99-only-99-99-with-quidco-until-tonight-microsoftstore-2291505
That was a Quidco deal. What helped was tweeting at Quidco customer support. We then had a Quidco rep come on to the thread and assure us that things will be rectified. All cashback was paid.
If you just call their customer support line, or email, then they can internalise the problem. Hit their public facing support services, and you'll make progress.
Once / If the cashback gets declined - we gonna flood their twitter with complains :sunglasses:
"Thanks for getting back to us.
I have had a look into this for you. I can see we are still waiting for Microsoft to pass the validation information across to us. Once they have sent this to us we then need to manually uplift these.
I can fully understand this is frustrating we are working as quickly as possible to get this resolved for you.
Kind Regards,
Steven"
I'll give another month before going facebook/twitter
Hi there,
We have recently heard back as regards to the status of your Missing CashBack Claim.
Kind regards,
Beccy
(By the way, I did the same kind of cashback thing a while back for 2x Acer Switch 11 laptops. That was a Quidco deal - and they eventually came good on the offer. Given the unsatisfactory outcome from TCB on your deal, I'd recommend avoiding them in the future...and instead use Quidco - who do deliver).
Better still, get multiple people on this thread tweeting similar stuff....and do it repeatedly. It worked for Quidco (we had a rep assigned to the deal who then followed up with us until the cashback was paid).
Twitter is your friend in this instance.
remember to give it 5 stars so it's always seen first
I'm pretty shocked at the abuse of this system by Microsoft and the lack of interest from Topcashback to resolve. It's obvious i used the system correctly as they have tracked the purchase but at 53pence, not£42 as advertised.
I've tried tweeting, but at the age of 39, have yet to work it out!! I think if you search Microsoft and top_cashback you'll find out if anyone fancies re tweeting? Any help with the tweet would be ace!
"@QuidcoSupport @quidco If you want to avoid legal action, please respond/clarify your position on the following http:/****/1TmRa9k"
Just replace the Quidco support handles with those of Topcashback - and also put in the URL for this mouse deal.
This was the response I had from Quidco (just an hour after I sent the initial tweet):
Thanks for the heads up. An update on the matter is now on the thread & further updates will continue to be provided.
-Jack
Hi there,
Thanks for getting in touch.
We are aware of the issue and we are working to resolve this.
Please refrain from requesting the cashback until it has been uplifted.
We hope to have this resolved soon.
Kind regards,
Michelle

Hi,
We would like to offer you £39.49 in respect of your missing commission claim.
Please press the [Accept Offer and close Claim] button above to have this credited to your account and close this claim
Kind Regards,
TopCashback Support
Not quote £40 or £42 as originally advertised but £41.69 paid back via amazon voucher in the end although had to downgrade from Topcashback Plus account which deducted £5!
Now I quite like this mouse!!
Cheers all for advice regarding Twitter and I never did get as far as Facebook FYI
I've had some one to one feedback from TCP via facebook PM so will post my findings here.
Did you facebook or go via twitter?
So what's the latest status on this ?
I see one of our members got the cashback, did anybody else got it ?
My claim is still in 'waiting for Merchant' status...
"Hi there,
We are sorry to contact you out of the blue, we just wanted to get in touch regarding your Microsoft transaction(s) made in October/November 2016.
We are aware that you are expecting to see this uplift and please let me assure you that you should go on to see any extra amounts for your transaction(s) made applied to your account for you as soon as possible, this will show as a separate transaction on your account as your original transaction should be showing as payable for you. We are currently just waiting on the cashback for this purchase to be received so that we can pass this on to you and update your account to reflect the cashback expected, we are not expecting this to be too much more of a wait and hopefully we can get your cashback added in for you soon.
We do apologise for any frustration or any inconvenience caused but your patience has been and is greatly appreciated.
Best wishes,
TopCashback Support "
No way I was prepared to spend £60 on a mouse if I didn't have to and thanks all those that advised regarding Twitter/Facebook... I don't normally use either and only used Twitter in the end but good to see the power of social media in action. Good luck all on getting paid as well.... :-)
Today received £39.89 (incl £0.39 topup)
And previously (on 29th of Oct 2015) I received £0.50
So that gives us a grand total of £40.39 which is less than £42
Oh well, never mind - glad I eventually got nearly all I was hoping for, pfew :-)
£42.02 for the mouse and £42.02 for the wireless display adapter + 3% Amazon voucher bonus = £86.98.
Social media...best way to go...Thanks Matt
