I think it would, these heads are bigger than expected, over 200 mini figs in the small one!!!

Awesome, many thanks OP, just what I needed as I managed to snag one of the 1500 piece Lego Classic sets on offer at Tesco at the weekend, my boy will be most happy come Christmas!
