The hack didn't result in any customers losing any money, and the emails were sent as a precautionary measure for you to keep an eye on just to make sure nothing went wrong. So that is completely irrelevant to this thread. Good deal and good store support from Carphone warehouse.

F*** this company. They got hacked and sent an email to everyone telling us to contact our banks asap. Was only with them a week or so. Service wasn't brilliant I remember. It was the best deal at the time but i'm not voting either way.

Voted hot for the actual deal.
But awful customer service - if nothing goes wrong with your account then you'll be fine.

"if you have good signal coverage with three", that's a joke in itself.

No, it's not. It's actually probably the best coverage ever. Took Mifi from EE to my holiday this year and there was hardly any signal available. And when available - it was 3G only. 3G in one place, download limited to 0,17Mbit.
Luckily I had phone from Three with decent data allowance - signal was weak, but usable. And in most places it was the only one network available.
Unfortunately they cut all retention deals and customer service is getting worse. ID Mobile appears to be good replacement - same coverage, more countries covered than Three at home (in takeaway tariffs). Just waiting for a good deal (one above is not "takeaway")

Personally I would suggest taking 1-month rolling contract. Situation will change when euro-roaming finally will kick-in next year

agreed - always prefer 1 month rolling but the O2 deal at £5 ish per month was too good to miss !

Why not get postoffice mobile for 5quid month ( no contract whatsoever)
500mb/250mins/3000 texts
I always thought I will go over the data and 500mb won't be enough, but I have never done that...
Used to get by with 100mb a while ago, but that was really too little.

15 Oct 15#23
Me too. I'm looking at payg as I mostly use whatsapp for calls and texts now.
Can't decide whether to go with Three or TPO.
Giffgaff are good for pay as you go. £7.50 'Goody Bag' gives you 250 mins/ 500mb (4G)/ unlimited text and free Giffgaff to Giffgaff calls . A £10 Goody Bag doubles the Mins and data. They run on O2 network.

I agree ! Giff gaff all the way if you don't want to use an actual network . Would never use any other virtual operator again. ID are so over protective giving any information at all ( yet they are based in South Africa

16 Oct 15#40
Amazingly...no. ID Mobile dont let you change tariff. They suggested I switch from their 1month sim to another networks payg, then back to them if i wanted to get this deal and keep my number
onlineo
15 Oct 15#30
I would keep well clear. First off only.the takeaway plans are free abroad, so this tariff isn't. If you get a takeaway then they don't cap your plan and even though your phone may cap it will not be accurate. I went for 2.2 gb on a 1gb contract as my phone misjudged my usage and got hit with a £60 bill. 2 weeks later and no response from customer services. Avoid like the plague.
lianne21

Think I'll go with 3 as TPO made a loss of over £2 million in 2014 so might go bust.

15 Oct 15#36
I'm on iD ...... couple of points.... cheap and you get plenty of allowance for you're money ... downside 3 don't have a 2g network which means basic phone coverage is not as comprehensive as other networks, 4g speeds are not great, customer service is pretty poor

Tesco isn't bad at 750 min/5000/2GB(4G) for £12.50 + potential family perks/loyalty bundles. Most importantly for me is that you can cap the maximum overspend to as little as 2quid more for those who exceed allowance. Have seen too many horror stories.
Heat for the deal but never heard of before.
TAZMANUK
16 Oct 15#42
@ssduk2 I can get better allowance from them after been with them for 6 months the data could increase to 2gb but just joined them
specially after EE refused to match any deals the same deal offered here on a retention deal is £31.99, they are forcing orange and T-Mobile to move onto EE and paying a premium for 4g.
So after I've cleared my final bill with them and paid virginmobile first month of the sim only I'm in better state to then look at new contracts.
but I'm holding off till Dec or Jan be better deals, in OK with my nexus 5 32gb with Android 6.0 St the moment.

@blakester I couldn't get no decent deal, nothing but lies from EE first offered me a S5 at £26.99 with 500 mins text data, then a HTC desire 626 I think it was at same price.
quickly looking on the site it was cheaper at £18 to £21 and got declined a lower in price its because I was orange customer who they are screwing over, glad I left.

i didnt say anything about the signal in YOUR area. So where you jumped to that conclusion from, you need to check again
I was with Three for last 5 years until this year. Signal and internet speeds were brilliant. But it seems with the cheap contracts, and all you can eat data, their customer base got too big for their network. and dont even get me started on customer service.

I have brilliant signal here where i live and most of the country get's good signal they are the second best for signal.
As for custom service take a look on here for Vodafone and then you see bad custom service but saying that nearly all networks have bad custom service you can't go on that now days.
If you don't need custom service like me again then there's nothing to worry about.
