We bought one of these at the weekend from B&M, for £14.99.
Quite good fun, but very difficult to fly or use. They are only small, about 2" across and it's impossible to get a steady hover with them.
The flip button is good fun, but it will take a lot of practice to fly them properly, if at all.

Oh that's something I doubt I would of even looked for or known about. That actually sounds much better for him than the other two then, thank you so much for all your help. Really appreciate it  Will browse youtube again when hubby comes home from work but think the Lark would be the one

The thing to note with the lark is that is a First Person View (FPV) aircraft which gives a live 'pilots eye' view of the flight on a separate screen; the others are just camera carrying drones which you fly in line of sight while they do the filming, which you can then look at later. Personally, in this price range, I'd rather spend more on a better quad/camera than pay for the extra novelty of FPV, but FPV can be fun too. Your choice :smirk:

Just remember, if you buy one of these there are a lot of laws about using them outside!

The laws are fairly basic and easy to follow. They're unlikely to have much impact on anyone in the 'toy' category, assuming they have some common sense.
That's really kind of you, thank you for going to all that trouble. I kind of thought I wouldn't be able to get him a really good one, maybe more of a toy one for that price but if he likes it or actually uses it, then next Christmas he can have a better one or I reckon he will treat himself  The one I was looking at today is very similar to the UDI Falcon one, I think that might be "ok" but the Lark looks and sounds much better. Don't mind spending that on one also, will have a look on YouTube for reviews of both of those, thanks again for your help. I knew it was worth being cheeky and asking on here.

No problem. To be honest, you're very much in 'toy' territory if you're looking at 100 quid. You're not going to get high quality, stable, video, but you might get somehing that gives him an idea of what sort of fun he can have with a quad-copter,
Whatever you do, don't just buy something from a high-street toy shop. Most of them are pretty awful. Have a look of you-tube reviews for some of the above and see if they do what you think he might expect.

Sorry to butt in, I have been looking for one of these for a present for my father in law but want a half decent one with camera..... I haven't got a clue about anything like this, neither has my hubby. Can anyone recommend a good starter one please? Voted hot as this is a great price
Any help would be greatfully appreciated

Completely depends on how much you want to pay. Anything from 20 quid to 2000. What's your price range?

Oh they really range in price, was hoping for around the £100 mark, ive seen a few whilst shopping today and just really have no clue. It will be a "starter" one but he likes to take pics so definitely must have a camera  Thanks for the reply and I'm sorry to comment on this thread

I recommend you get the hubsan X4. It's a great starter quad.

I too recommend the Hubsan X4, the H107C model with the HD Camera. They're £46 from Amazon, and are capable of this type of footage in the hands of a beginner.
Once you have the hang of it, you can activate expert mode, which triples all the rotor rates and makes this thing shift. It does flips and stuff too!
I have the extra batteries pack which comes with a charger capable of charging 6 batteries in around 50 minutes.
I love it!

Anything over £15 will incur VAT at 20% and Handling Fees (about £8.00), so order spares and other items separate to remain below that limit.
I have one and just ordered another for a present. Its a great little quad and I spend about 20 quid all together and have 6 batteries and about 30 spare props. Keep an eye out for the specials as it often drops in price but its still only 9.20.

Not much price difference to the Eachine H8 which is fuctionally very much the same but with plenty of reviews.
