I've searched far and wide on the net, including Ebay, and this by far is the cheapest going. To anyone who doesn't know, Gorilla Tape is the modern day version of the ball of string. It's a miracle worker of epic proportions (ok, a bit exaggerated, but you know what I mean). One website even did an experiment to see which tape was the best :
No prizes for guessing which one was the clear winner.

For want of a better answer, be the next couple of weeks, we're trying to get it in sooner - This stock should have lasted that long, but, well, you guys
We're having a few problems with our feeds at the moment, we're aware of them and are trying to fix them - Fix should be going in soon

Great tape and delivered price. Use it all the time and keep several rolls around the house / car / workshop / toolbox/ shed/ greenhouse etc. Very handy.
Got mine from Amazon as it sometimes drops to this price but its an add on item, so delivery on top unless ordering £20+ off stuff where amazon fulfils the order.

Can you use this tape to hold up spot lights?

I'd be concerned about the heat melting the glue.

What spot lights do you mean and how/ where were you thinking of fixing it?
Depends on where you attach it and the type of spotlights you're talking about. If the bulbs generate lots of heat, and its in contact with a part that heats up more than to the touch (casing etc), I'd say no. If its very low heat / led lights or on somewhere thats cold, say on a neck or bracket, then maybe depending on weight. Pretty strong stuff from experience but heat would be an issue.

Good price, but do I need any?
Also is there any good double sided tape, perhaps suitable to secure a bathroom mirror (there is a stench pipe behind the board wall and I am a bit dubious of drilling through that by accident).

i glued my mirror in the shower with 'good as nails' double sided sticky tape, together with 'good as nails' paste. Both from the pound shop. The mirror is still stuck on strong a year on.

In the shower? If anything I would of used silicone to stick the mirror on, as you never know if the water degrades the good as nails paste and tape.
LandOfConfusion to CyberDude
14 Oct 151#24
I've used double-sided gorilla tape, pound shop "hard as nails", various "permanent" sticky pads and finally Unibond "No More Nails" and without a doubt the No More Nails was the best while the pound shop stuff was the worst and didn't hold anything of significant weight.

Yeah mine isn't going in the shower, just over the sink, shouldn't get any major splashes of water, but obviously steam may get to it.

They cancelled my order from 16:15hrs today - but they're still taking orders from the site on back-order with no suggestion that they won't be fulfilled! Pretty poor.
"Thank you for placing this order with CPC, unfortunately due to unprecedented demand, the product you ordered is no longer available as the stock was depleted before your order was processed.
On this occasion the order has had to be cancelled as there were no alternatives in our system, we appreciate that this might cause significant inconvenience and would like to apologise for any disappointment caused."

That's terrible, if only CPC had advised of a stock problem prior to that, maybe by coming onto HUKD and posting in this very thread around 15:30 to say that stock was nearly depleted. If only....
They may have no idea about if and when they will restock and a different team may need to disable the product from being able to be ordered on the site. If you are bothered, try placing another order and see what happens, you may get it cancelled again or you may get an email saying it is out of stock for now but being put on back order, giving you the option to cancel.

Agreed. I thought that was very good of them to request deal expiry and save some customers from disappointment.

Frustrating first order process.
Wanted 2 of these as my first order and filled in the details to get the order delivered to my work address, which, as you guessed it, I'm located at during standard delivery times -i.e. 9am-5pm. My invoice/ card is a personal one so its registerred to my home address.
Several hours after placing the order allowing me to post to work but invoice to home, I get another email saying :
"Good Afternoon,
Thank you for your order.
Unfortunately, this order has been cancelled.
For the first order that you place, all goods need to be delivered to wherever the credit/debit card is registered to.
Please replace this order on the website, ensuring all the addresses are the same.
Please advise if you have any more queries".
Way to go, CPC! Could have very easily checked and let me know this BEFORE the order was processed so I could have changed delivery address to home. Now the item is out of stock but I've been allowed to place the order again anyway and will either be cancelled AGAIN, or now have to wait weeks for delivery. You need a website/ system update to warn of this, or at least realise not everyone who orders can be at the same place as the registerred card address for the first order. We're not all scam artists.
The response email from CPC isnt very appologetic considering its CPC's fault for not mentioned during ordering that the first order needs to be the same as credit card address.
Disappointing but will give them another chance or I'll be back to Amazon next time.

Hi Dave
Thanks for the feedback on that, we'll pass it on to our Web Team to see if they can do anything about it, we'll point out your comments about the email especially.
To explain, we're not really set up for consumers to use the site, we're primarily a business to business company and as such a lot of our processes are geared towards that not what a lot of people are used to.
We realise that the first time order of delivery and card address being the same isn't what people are used to, but it's part of our hard business rules against fraud that are coded into the system, we literally can't get around that.
It is however noted in several areas of the checkout process;
Apologies once again for the frustration, we shall make sure your comments are seen by the right people

Genuinely cant remember that floating over on that right hand side so must have missed that one, sorry. I'm browsing in a reasonably high resolution so if its there its aligned way over to the right. Should be in the flow of body text so cant be missed.
Would still be helpful if your web team could block the order with a simple check rather than an easily missed box on the right of the screen.
Thanks for listening & reply though.
Oh, and the second order has just been cancelled via email too with the following message :disappointed:
"Hello
Thank you for your order.
Unfortunately the part SA02617 has been removed as it is no longer stocked. The order has been cancelled and no funds will be taken, if you have any questions please let me know.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused."
Yet going back to the website it says :
"Availability: 632
(Available until stock is exhausted)
632 in stock ready for despatch (UK stock)"
What's going on? I placed the second order (small so fits through the leter box if out) so I could get around the delivery only to credit card address nuisance on first order but now I'm not sure if I should persevere and try again so I can start ordering to deliver to work (so I can order bigger/ bulkier stuff knowing I'm there to sign for it). Seems good stuff on the site but CPC dont seem to want my business.
I give up. :disappointed:
