if you select the debit on your PayPal summary, it shows the discount bwing applied. so you will not be charged £36.99.
you should have the usual email from paypal after your purchase confirming that they will take circa £29 from your account.

Yes, you have to add it to the basket instead to clicking on the buy it now. Also, you can add multiple items and apply the code, up to £50 savings as previously mentioned.
