"plus it will hold its value too!"
i highly doubt it, this time round there so much merch everyone will be buying it and "keeping one to sell" - people dont realise gaming merch these days esp the consumer items very rarely hold there value anymore

Yes, but that was 5 years ago. Lots more collectible stuff being sold this time around, with every AAA release.

I collect and sell collectors merchandise (games and films), so I think i know what i am talking about.
I have a sealed copy of Fallout New Vegas thats worth around £120.... I paid about £29 for it
I also have a sealed copies of the Game exclusive Fallout 3 Brotherhood of Steel edition worth around £100, i paid £17 for it, the Fallout 3 lunchbox edition, is also worth a pretty penny.
It all depends on the item, whether or not its sealed and WHEN you sell it.....
I dont see where it says that was sold for that price, also thats an actual numbered edition of something ( which i doubt sold for more than what the console versions are worth due to pc equivalents are always cheaper
up so did i, i once paid £600 for a uncharted 1 press kit , sold it for £1400 before the market was flooded with eu versions, ive got a limited edition fallout 3 poster signed by alot of devs i paid £400 from a gamesaid auction
i basing my information on fallout 3's collectors edition guide was hard to get hold of at first , and everyone was selling it for £80+ - 7 years later it can be had for less than rrp left right and centre.

Got all those myself, i assume when you said you buy and sell collectors merch i guess you mean just all the shop bough collectors editions, not the actual collectors items/press kits/dev items etc
For me, there doesnt seem a lot of difference between this version and the standard hardback guide on its own. £15 vs £43, and for the extra money you get a different hardback cover, a case and some nuka cola stuff?

I bought Dark Souls Collector's edition guide from GAME and sold it for £110 new in September.
Can't imagine Fallout 4 Collector's stuff will be all that valuable, though. Just look at the responses in here..lots of interested. Will sell loads. Your average game guide deal on HUKD gets slated.

The poster sized world map might be worth having if this game is going to be as sprawling as they're promising...

25 Oct 15#25
A) it wont be worth using
B) youll have detailed maps in the guide
C) you cant even frame it and stick it on the wall because of the awful creases itll have

I'd assume that the "soft touch hard back" thing is the same as the "Art of Skyrim" that they did, which was rather nice.
I've ordered it. I wanted it when it was first announced at $130, so for £44 ish isn't too bad. Plus I can cancel that £17 amazon order now.
Now, if only someone could find a great deal on that pip-box...

Fallout stuff is very collectable. But resale value is all down to how many sold and condition ie. How many are kept mint sealed complete. They have made a lot of merchandise this time but stuff like the pip boy edition will still hold its value due to the fact the could not make that many of them to satisfy the demand. Buy it because you like it not to make money.
fattyuk to alera
26 Oct 15#46
thats the issue though Lot of people will be buying them to keep them sealed so in 12 months time they'll be loads still sealed hence won't be as rare plus we haven't even got how many has been made!

this stuff is cool and everything, and I do want it! but I can't see myself putting collector merchandise anywhere in my place, I'm shocked at how many people buy these I mean I love games but I don't really want extra junk il look at for 5 mins and be put in a box forever. unless you are buying to sell in which case who is buying from you?! anyway just my thoughts! I can't wait for fallout 4!

The Official Bethesda Store is always selling Collectors items, most months they release a Limited Edition of a Pip Boy bobblehead & quite frequently have sales on. Only downside is the Postage, it cost me £35 p&p for 2 tshirts that cost £25. Sometimes Forbidden Planet get these in too, so check there. (both the .co.uk & .com sites)

That's useful to know as I've just had an e-mail from GAME about their Fallout 4 Merch Bundle where a lot of the "exclusive" merchandise is freely available on the Bethesda site. I haven't worked out where it's cheaper to buy from, but I have a code for 20% off GAME (making their bundle £80).

Don't worry, you're fine with Speedyhen - it's just very high demand causing delays. Even the likes of Amazon have no available stock the guide, for example.

12 Nov 15#60
One of my pre-orders has been cancelled (but not this one).

13 Nov 15#62
It's payment issues, not insufficient stock - though these are still certainly an annoyance. The shipping delays are down to their suppliers and have also affected the likes even of Amazon.
