Very similar to Corsairs budget range. I'd look for a Seasonic built PSU, they're a bit more expensive though.

I have a 460W PSU and it powers a 970 with no problems :smiley:
Might be a nice upgrade for my PC though. Thinking about overclocking the 970 some time.

Crap PSU. I've had nothing but problems with this one . I've opt out for a cooler master 500w for £40 and it includes a UK plug . Just be careful with cheap PSUs especially from Ebuyer

People have also had problems with Coolermaster, Seasonic etc. Nothing at all on this planet is exempt from the odd failure. EVGA do some great quality competitively priced PSU's. Their SuperNova range are very highly recommended by Custom PC.
To also add. I had bought in 2007 a Coolermaster RealPower Pro 850W PSU. After 13 months it developed problems. And what happened. Coolermaster totally ignored completely every RMA request for it. Making their promise of a 5 year warranty worthless.
Ebuyer, who I bought it from, then kindly accepted a return for it outside of their 12 month warranty, and even kinder then swapped it for a Corsair HX620 as I said I didn't want Coolermaster again after this. And what happened after 2 years owning that Corsair that blew too. Thus needing to RMA it to Holland which cost around £30 postage (a PSU is heavy).
This seems like a nice PSU for builds that wont have massive power drawing graphics card. If I was building I PC now I would buy this. It is also £52 at Amazon so it ain't cheap.

I make it £41.04 at Amazon, inc shipping. Cheapest I could find was £34.62 at Dabs, inc shipping.
what do we gain by having this? I have the one supplied by ebuyer with the cabinet. What will i have as an advantage if i use this? All these have a consumption of 10 watts even when pc is shut down and is in standy right?

Some more power demanding components such as graphics cards need more watts to run.

This PSU isn't on Toms Hardware's list is it?
I can see "500B / 600B HEC Compucase" in tier 3 but I assume the "B" is for bronze and this PSU is "white".

Well as far as i know. White version is lower than bronze version ( basically it is a cheap standard version) so it is a lower tier than 600B. Imo stay away from these if u r loking for high demand and oc pc

Ordered this a couple of days ago and it arrived today. I have just installed this in my Dell XPS 8700 and it works like a charm. Took about 30 minutes of trying to disconnect cables (that 24-pin connector was tough!) but it was well worth it. It's much quieter than the old 460W PSU I had. :smiley:
I was rather puzzled to see that this PSU had a floppy drive connector. People still use those? :confused:

How noisy is the fan on this? Does it turn off when not underload? Got an OCZ power supply from 2009 and whilst it works fine, the fan is the noisiest part of my computer

EVGA do do some good PSUs but sometimes even good brands use a cheaper PSU platform from an OEM.
So I'm not voting hot or cold unless a decent review is presented :wink: , sorry OP.
Also EVGA generally are much better when it comes to warranties
