got it today from bangg, order it Fri the week before, sent me a nice case and a screen protector with it, BUT the wrong ones(for ule Paris) :disappointed: ...anyway, first thoughts, very happy, got update once I first connected to WiFi, good sign... camera in low light is average, good shots for fb, but nothing worth keeping.. don't know on daylight yet...run nice and smooth with multiple apps ( normal apps didn't try games or other heavy apps), fast 4g on ee, fast WiFi, above average reception on wifi ,brilliantly on 4g..memory management, with 2-3 apps open, 1.4gb available!!! not a lot 2gb phones can achieve that! begs that I can think is that looks a little plasticy(although no gaps or mismatches, etc),rear cover I don't think will last long if u keep swapping sims, has 3 point multitouch (at least on papers, I don't think it ll make any difference to me)...as I said first thoughts, its a no brainer, blows away anything below 50-60 quid..

I ordered two Doogee X5 Pro (white and black) from BangGood on the 14th October and they were out of stock. When they got new stock, they were sent on the 20th October and they arrived today (26th October).
I've only had a quick play and the phones and they seem fine for sub £50 device (10% discount when buying from the BangGood app). I hope to have much more time to use them/set them up tomorrow.

Customs charge unlikely unless premium delivery service selected, usually not Royal 'Mail' but DHL. Not sure where you got %20 from unless this is the amount of brain power you used when writing your post and that's overstating it by 19%.

The ebay link in the comment above is for the x5 not the x5 pro that the original post is for (different ram 1gb as posed to 2gb)
I've been ordering Chinese phones for years and have NEVER had to pay any import duty, charges etc (although there is a long wait for the item usually 4-6 weeks minimum). Have ordered three from gearbest in the last year alone and haven't had any issues so far.

As an experiment I sold my Z3 Compact and ran an Elephone P6000 for about 3 months as my main phone. The Elephone has a similar spec to the DooGee X5 Pro
On the plus side, it ran a clean Android, performed flawlessly for the money, and for most uses such as browsing, apps and (casual) games not really any noticeable downgrade from my previous phone.
As negatives, the battery life was poor so I found myself actively limiting my screen time, camera was pretty poor, but the biggest deal was that the Sat Nav was completely unusable, it would say I was in a field when I was driving down the road, thought I was in Portsmouth when I was on the Isle of Wight etc.
I've since given it to my daughter as an upgrade from her Moto G (1st edition) and she's made up with it.
So to summarise, Chinese 'no brand' smartphones offer exceptional value for money, and if the DooGee X5 Pro performs anything like the Elephone P6000 this is a fantastic deal. But, this will not be the seamless smartphone experience that you would get from an 'established brand' and there will be obvious flaws in certain places.
With most of these phones the available reviews online are limited and you should always try to find out where the device has its shortfalls so you are able to decide whether the savings in cost are worth it. For this phone I would be worried about the amount of screen time afforded by the 2400 mAh battery, and the performance of the 5mp (interpolated to 8mp) camera.

Thanks for posting your first-hand comments, very useful to know. I was under the impression that Mediatek had ironed out the issues they had with their GPS chips some time back but evidently not. This is unfortunately a very common scenario with many Chinese phones and tablets - no attention is paid really to a proper QC and test of the finished product. All their efforts go into maximising their specs vs other Chinese competitors to a point where an extra 0.5mm shaved off the thickness of the phone is seen to be the end goal, rather than an extra 200mAh of battery which will allow their customers to use their phones through the duration of the day.
I believe the first batch of their P8000's were manufactured without the status LED in a race to meet Elephone's release timeline commitments. You can just about imagine how the unfortunate sods who bought this batch of phones felt when they powered them up. Elephone later offered some money back OFF THEIR NEXT MODEL OF PHONE when the complaints started flooding in - this kind of event really does show these guys up for what they are. They said they had to 'compromise on the first 5000 units'!!:
I believe any seller can become a recommended seller on hotukd if they offer to pay the requisite 'referral fee' :smirk:

it makes absolutely no sense buying this phone for £89.99 to get access to a UK company who offer a warranty.
the same phone from gear best is £50, if it went wrong (unlikely) you could simply buy another, but gear best are usually quite good at sorting out issues anyway
and of course there is no guarantee that the more expensive UK seller would respect any "warranty" they offer

Currently none in stock in the EU warehouse, I think because it's only really just come out. It looks good on paper, but I'm suspicious of Doogee (and other lesser known Chinese brands) and their habit of announcing phones with variable spec that keeps changing. For example, originally the F5 was meant to have a 3000mAh battery which has now dropped to significantly less...

Customs charge IS 20 % of the the declared value on the package ( which is the UK VAT rate ) plus £8 Royal Mail admin fee.
If customs think the declared value is wrong on the package then they can charge 20% of what they determine the correct value to be. Its very rare that they open the package to check though.
Most Chinese sellers put a lower value on the customs declaration note on the package ( if its under £15 then UK customs don't charge even if they spot it ) . This is why most parcels get through without charges.

A little update on the Doogee X5 Pro - I was wary, after reading comments about some smartphones with modified Android installations being full of Chinese apps that couldn't be deleted. Fortunately, the phones come pretty clean of unwanted applications and I don't think I could find any apps that I thought was worthy of immediate deletion.
The new owners are very happy with their sub-£50 smartphones and they're a big step up from what they had before. They really like the screen which I can only describe as being at least twice the size and clarity of their old Samsung phones. They're both on Three mobile network and the X5 Pro works great on 3G and 4G.

I've only had a quick play and the phones and they seem fine for sub £50 device (10% discount when buying from the BangGood app). I hope to have much more time to use them/set them up tomorrow.
I've ordered two cases from BangGood and they should be with me in the next seven days as that order was only placed a couple of days ago.
Doogee Support replied regarding policy for future upgrades eg Marshmallow Android 6 but their reply included below I don't really understand either.
[reply from doogee-support:We do not have any official information regarding updates at present, but there is a trends to produce a new one with Android 6 Marshmallow,
And our firmware technician will update a patch to prevent the virus threat unscheduled.]

Has anyone had a GearBest order via PostNL before? Does that mean it is coming from or via Holland? Did your tracking work?
