I agree that you can get a lot of spec for a fraction of the cost with these Chinese devices. Two points though. Gearbest currently have a terrible approach of advertising goods they don't physically have in stock and keep making excuses as to why the goods remain as processing on your account. Hopefully the EU warehouse might be slightly better. Lastly, how can you change the ROM? Not sure as yet whether there is custom ROMs out there supporting this device.

Hi. Has anybody who has received their doogee F5 please give their views on it as I would be interested to know if real world experience of the phone lives up to the impressive on paper specs. I would be particularly interested in views on the camera as if it has a poor camera I would have to give it a miss. Thanks.
Still yet to receive anything from Gearbest (3 orders, 3 paypal refunds). Never again.

The Banggood dates changed for restock (if any stock at all)
It's now "Expected restock on 1st November 2015"
I don't mind a few kick backs on presale release dates but I might start to worry if on 30th October we see "Expected restock on 8th November 2015". Then it will seem the dates are just blindly advancing a week with out any clue when they might get some stock.

Canceled my banggood order today. When they offered me a refund or wait until 8th November for stock that means they want you to take refund. I may look around for stock or order an LG phone? Not sure what to do but given up on banggood. Been waiting 6 weeks

The site says these ship after Oct 15, but not how long after: a day, a month .... So yes, its pretty much guaranteed that no actual users have ever seen one. Or that the production units have been adequately reviewed.
Personally, while these phones appear on paper to be pretty good, I'm not going to risk this being a turkey. I might get one in a few months provided they meet expectations, but I can't see any reason to be thrusting money into the hands of the sellers for a completely untried device.

If it's popular enough they'll be roms on XDA. But as it's only just out it's too soon to know if the dev's will pick it up.
I ordered one of these on the 27th September, then I found they money out of my account straightaway all though it says on their that they don't take money until sent.
When I queried this they never answered why money was taken, although I asked 3 times. Then yesterday I was told I would have to wait until at least 25th of October!!! that was the last straw , so now asked for a refund , I will see how long that takes!!!!

Been there done that, owned an Elephone, UMI Iron which was much more popular than this. These phones seem good from a distance only, they have lot of things in common, the chipset, memory on offer, the screen and all. So far so good as it seems to be a bargain. That is until the phone arrives. Things you will notice at first sight,
- Plasticy
- Not quality finish. Screws not aligned
- Might have bloatware on it.
- Might not have all the promised LED's
Stil ok, who cares about this for 100£ quid phone.. right? Then other things become apparent after a few days.
- No 4G
- No Compass
- No Wifi 5G only 2.4 Ghz band
- Screen heats, phone heats
- Some apps just do not work (I have struggled with Banking apps, games, even standard national rail app)
- Viewing angles are not great
- LED and screen light leaks through back.
- Not all the firmware features actually work and there is always a new version that supposedly will fix it.
- Screen behaves strangely, calibration goes weird
- paint starts to come off edges
Still can not be worse...right?
- You will soon realise that Android firmware maintenance might not be biggest priority for firm because they are already focusing on releasing another flash sale version which is ever so slightly different than yours.
Still I am not completely against these phones, I think they have a place. I would buy them for kids or for stuff where I might not need it after 6 months. For day to day use, I would stay away from these.

Well to be honest I am not surprised. The reason for my previous comment relates to the Teclast X98 Air 3G. I ordered it from Gearbest on 2nd October. It said it was in stock and paid for expedite shipping. It remained in processing for days, so when I contacted them, they said the National holidays caused delays, which is fair enough. Then they gave me three different dates. I told them I would refer the matter to paypal and immediately my money was refunded. When I telephoned and finally managed to speak to someone at Gearbest, they confirmed that they should have marked the item out of stock, as I told them to and they now have. They also said, no stock will be available until November.

Things are far from different in teh Uk warehouse as I've just had this experience with them in relation to the Teclast X98 tablet. It's shown as in stock and ready to be dispatched in 1-3 working days, but 2 days after ordering I emailed them for an update on delivery only to be told they're waiting for stock from the manufacturers and that they encourage me to reorder from their China warehouse instead!
So close to being perfect for my needs, but it looks like it has no NFC, gyro or accelerometer. QI charging would be a nice luxury, although I rarely use it. Might hold out for a usb type-c phone.
Heat added though. Awesome specs for the price!

Software will be rubbish and buggy, and specs often don't match up with whats advertised, and good luck if you need to send it back. If you're lucky, it won't be filled with malware. If amazon fulfilled can send a phone full of crap, some dodgy HK/chinese site can.

I think its only 3 that works on 4G with these phones.
I've had lots things go missing from UK companies and very poor support, I've bought lots of goods from international ones, The only time I had an issue was with bang good, and they resent the item. I cant see anyone saying they were never offered a replacement or refund. some of you people are just scare mongers that have no idea what you are talking about.
About the presale status of the Doogee F5: I've one on presale order from Bang good, they are suggesting a stock date delay from 15th Oct to Friday 23rd Oct, The website says restock, but they havn't had any stock yet, but I've noticed that PompMail have suggested 3-4 weeks which wont be til November. http://www.pompmall.com/doogee-f5-4g-lte.html .

I wish they would sell these in UK and have UK warranty service as I think they would do really well. I would def buy with UK protection as you get so much phone for your money and it could maybe force manufacturers here to lower prices with competition like this.

dean_brfc to Vistrix
19 Oct 15#22
Both true, but you still get a hell of a lot of phone for the money. The main reason they don't quite perform up to the specs is that they don't optimise Android on it - paying software developers is expensive. The hardware spec is accurate though.
I replaced an LG G3 with an Elephone P7000. A few minor niggles, but I wouldn't pay the £100 extra the G3 cost to fix them.

Yep, fully agree. Best wait for some verified user reviews. Don't want to end up like one of those first Elephone P8000 customers who were informed by the company that the fancy notification LED ('breathing light' in Chinglish) was never installed because the company had to scramble to meet the release date on the first batch of 5000 units..nice!!
