as much as I dislike prebuilt PCs, this looks like a nice machine for the money.

How would this handle running BF4 or GTA5.

Playable.

Not to well at all this is designed for multimedia not gaming you will need a I5+ really the ram would be ok and the GPU would handle the low end setting but sound like a aircraft running to keep it's self cool.

The GTX 750 is actually a really capable GPU, The i3 would be a bit of a bottleneck though as stated.
Probably low/medium settings.
Best thing to do would be to check youtube for people running an i3 + 750 to see roughly what to expect.
Digital foundry (the technical review bit on the eurogamer) find that for a lot of multiplatform games the an i3 and 750ti run things about equivalent to a ps4. Not sure on the power difference between the 750 here and the 750ti though. I have an i5 and 750ti and that seems to run most games acceptably for me as I'm fine turning settings/resolution down a bit to get acceptable performance. I played through battlefield 4 single player using a pentium dual core (below the i3 here) and my 750ti and found it fine.

I have a P4 medion from 2004 still going strong. runs windows 7 well and all i did was upgrade the ram, a shame i couldn't carry the OEM software for cyberlink over from the XP upgrade. the video input card and the digital tv card on board were a bonus back then lol.

As luck would have it, here's a youtube vid of BF4 that has same processor, GPU and RAM. Looks like it runs pretty darned well to me....
Seems to be no mention of any USB 3.0 ports on this.

Looks like 2 USB 3.0 on the front.

They're using the 750 Ti not the 750 and resolution is 1280x1024
BF4 isn't the most intensive game either. GTA 5 needs a bit more power but it'll run fine if you adjust things enough.
Right you are! Thanks... I see they split it into Front/Back connections under the specs.

I'd always recommend building your own from scratch, great experience and you can save a fortune over these prebuilt ones
Anyone can do it regardless of computer knowledge

Even sourcing some of the cheapest possible parts for this system a build still comes in around £320 without an OS or Keyboard/Mouse.
A lot of the time you're not going to save money over pre-built .

Please could you advice me on the parts and where to buy them as my son is after a gaming PC for Christmas. The one posted here looks ideal for price but I'd be interested in building him a better spec one for similar money.

You can't, get this instead if this is the budget you have. You cannot build anything better for cheaper

Very balanced PC spec, means great bang for buck. Hot! This is excellent value for money! Thanks for posting.

Like xela333 said, you just can't.
Probably best getting this when it's back in stock and getting a SSD for the OS & Programs and using the 1TB HDD for Media/Documents.

Rubbish this system could play all modern games at med settings so low as you keep it at 1080p and below. The gtx 750 is very good. Would be much better if it had an i5 4460 or better tho.
RFC1795

How painful a process would it be to do that, in terms of moving the OS onto the SSD HDD once it is installed?
Bades
8 Oct 15#28
AS I said GPU is ok its the I3 that will cause the issue it will bottle neck the system, as for all modern games maybe but on low settings
Might have to pull the trigger on this, not for gaming though it would only really be running office and smartsdr.

The cpu would have little impact on graphics settings. I use this gpu with a better i5 cpu and i can play everything iv ever thrown at it on med to high settings at 1680*1050 (my max res) That includes gta 5,witcher 3 ect.
If a G3258 can deal with gta5 and a decent graphics card so can this i3 as they are about comparible excluding the g3258s unlocked cores.

Rubbish guide, highely over complicated.
Just download AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro Edition 5.6 where you get it is down to you. Move your OS to ssd in one click done.
Well, I just quickly googled a guide that also showed how to set user folders like Music etc to the old HDD too as I have no idea how knowledgeable anyone who reads my comment is going to be.

Thanks! Will look again at this one. I just bought a mobo and am on the hunt for a g3285 CPU. I may scrap the idea and just go for this.
Anyone who got the last time, what's your experience been like and opinion of the PC?
