Gave up on the first one, after about 5 hours mind. Just found it a tad too repetitive. Does Riptide improve on things at all?

No mate, its more an expansion/continuation then a new game. Adds some new zombies and weapons/skills but thats about it. If you didn't enjoy Dead Island you won't enjoy Riptide.

I didn't enjoy Dead Island but loved Dying Light which is strange I guess. Tempted to try again for this price

I got this on the Steam deal recently. Fun game. Wish I'd got all the DLC too now.

Good deal. They also have riptide with all dlc for the same price. Didn't see that until I purchased this :'( but very much enjoying the game so far (4hrs)
