Ah, 1st world problems...
Personally I think these are great, I mean, they are ugly, but awesome for real world, every car I've owned at some point the centre of one of the doors has been dented by some inconsiderate who can only open a car door by wildly swinging it out as fast as possible, no such worries with this!
Mind you, was in a Citroen showroom last week, I think all their cars are designed to be 'youthful' I'm only 30 yet I felt like I was 15 years to old for anything in the showroom!
Since we're insulting car looks ere, isn't the juke one of the uk's fav cars? I've had the misfortune to drive one, apparently it was the top end one and I thought they were ugly and assumed the driving experience made up for them, but clearly not!

Excellent reviews; extremely practical, efficient medium sized crossover for city car money; 15k mileage makes this surely the best bang for buck car deal for quite a while. Forget the haters! It's a marmite car. We all know this.
There are plenty of folk that will be charmed by the design, and for them this is an unbelievable deal. Even for those that aren't enamoured with the design, well, we suck it up and buy alternative brands of canned beans if it's a good deal... and this is a good deal!

I used to think they were ugly but now they are growing on me, and its a family car so those door panels make sense when kids (and adults) bang things into the doors. Its nice to see a car manufacturer trying something different with the design, even if you don't like it you have to admire citroens thought to do something different!
I did see one on the road the other day in all black like the one above and it looked lovely. It had some small bits of red (possibly wing mirrors) which added a bit of character to it.
I'd probably get one in bright yellow with dark plastic panels just to p!ss off the neighbours !

I have one (1.2t petrol), and I love the fact some people hate its looks, I just imagine them getting all wound up in their dreadfull deezul insignias, i30s or astras unable to keep up at the traffic light grand prix. However, if everyone who hated the looks bought one, in which case they wouldn't have to look at the outside, that would leave everyone else who does like it admiring your car giving you a nice ego boost. If you've ever owned a BMW (i8 excepted) or audi, you've probably never had a compliment (unless it was from a baseball cap wearing toothless chav) but I've had more people come over to have a look round my car than when I had one of the first Toyota IQs in the country. Will get rid of it next year as I have a short attention span, but its one of the most interesting and surprising cars I've driven. Most surprising is it hasn't broken down yet.
Edit - only thing that gets irritating is the touch screen. It takes sometimes up to 10 seconds to boot up after a cold start, and impossible to set the temperature, or sat navy, or radio when you're blasting down a b road with kids sliding all over the place. Almost everything is controlled from the touchscreen, which is fine when stationary or when wife is driving, but sometimes buttons are just easier. Does look cool though and really easy to read even in bright sunshine. It also does postcode search although it isn't obvious.
Essentially less than £5 per day for a brand new car

I was really unsure when I seen one the first time, startled, but they are a grower, I now love them because they are so different, I don't want to look like the Jones'es, nor do I want a car payment like them
I've asked a quote on the 9-17 deal as I want like everything to keep my monthlies to a minimum because I can save more that way, insurance came in good with the Co-op 1 ×£99.73, 10 ×£43.85 Total £538.23, £40 more than a annual payment, again a great deal with the Co-op via compare the meerkats.

You must have some posh indoor bus stops with heating your way then...
I like the interior being mixed up, I keep my walls neutral and ceilings white at home with zest from art and large focal pieces...that's not how I like my car interiors though, all black with a hint of grey or vice versa - I was shocked at Arnold Clark how absolutely boring car interiors have become. If this is true how can any business offer this deal and make a profit ?
Are they going to hit you with a large bill at the end of the lease period ?
No maintenance means if the engine seizes up you have to pay the cost of a new one ?
aspc68 to Nesima
25 Oct 15#88
I would imagine that citroen are offering this to lease companies at a much reduced price to offload stock. If citroen reduced the retail price instead this could jeopardise their profit margins on all new car sales. I don't believe you can buy a lease car at the end of the term so that won't affect the price of the second-hand market either thus protecting citroen's new car pricing.
mrwhitelabel to Nesima
25 Oct 151#93
Depends on the co dition you return it in. If its in good condition, no bill, if its wrecked then there will be.
No maintenance means you have to pay for servicing during the term, like oil change, tyres etc, as opposed to some deals which include this.
Car warranty still applies so if engine fails will be covered under that unless driver error...

Can you pay by normal direct debit for it, or do you need to apply for a finance? If finance is the only option, is it 0% interest?

just got myself one of these from main dealer for a 24 hrs treat drive, only the petrol version available tho, feels OK, light, cheap to run, and its got everything u need, air con, Multi media and stuff all control on touch screen, 15k miles a year for those money in a new car is really not bad at all. think I'm going for it if they get back to Me tomorrow. spoke to the man at main dealer he said they MAY even price match, I said I'll let him know if I want the car when I return it tomorrow.

Oh, and by the way, the car you have seen for £9000 is obviously a scam advert - should be nearer to £20000 for a 2011 one with many more miles, as minging as they are, so be VERY careful if you attempt to buy it.
I really didn't think anybody was stupid enough to fall for these scams anymore, it's 2015 FFS.

Would be boring if everyone liked the same cars. Avoid the awful auto and its fine. Pretty much every motoring expert agrees its one of, if not the, best car in its class. The arm chair experts here, who have never sat in one let alone drive, fannying around in their Nissan almeras or rusty ford fiestas who believe Rover were once a good alternative to a jaguar would have you think otherwise.
ezzer72
25 Oct 15#155
Colour you can probably pick.
Yes, you have to have a credit check, and in my experience they are fairly strict. It's not 'finance' as such, it's more akin to a mobile phone contract, so there is no interest rate.

I've had 3 Peugeots spanning 16 years or so a 205, a 406, and a 307, not had a problem with any of them. The reputaion isn't deserved as far as I'm concerned, for Peugeot anyway.

26 Oct 151#170
That isn't fair nowadays. See here for completely unbiased reliability data without any opinion or bias.
As you can see the french do ok much better than german cars nowadays as an average. However I totally accept that the best selling french cars tend to be smaller, simpler cars with a strong bias towards female owners who love the french styling etc That said they are often the cars that are used more on urban runs which generally is higher wear with more gear changes compared to the larger executive cars that have easy motorway miles. The reality is if you want reliability you go Japanese most of the time. Where as the reliability of german cars has fallen quite badly over the years the Japanese have remained the most reliable over many decades.

I think there is some confusion over applications and enquiries.
As far as I know, if you asked for a quote using the online form, that is an enquiry. If you filled out a form asking for employment details, previous address and a few other details needed for a credit decision, then you have made an application.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

I have just phoned them there and he said he received my form, it was all in order and is with Citroen. He is yet to get any decisions back.

It sounds like a much better deal, although the £360 admin cost is spread over 12 months instead of 18, so £30 per month instead of 20.

Yeah, I saw that car and it looks like a cracking deal. Well done. My only hesitation is that the 18 months provides six more months of certainty, but who knows. You could get something better this time next year. I presume Citroen UK are trying to shore up their sales numbers before the year end, so renewing a lease annually at this time of the year could be a very good idea.

They (V4B) are calling everyone, I suppose. I am sure you will get a call soon. C4 Piccasso seems to be a better deal over this as the Piccasso is 12 months meaning it is less hassle with insurance policies, and it is better equipped in general
Poolius
29 Oct 151#253
I just called them to see what the status of my application was (as I've not even been approved yet). I intentionally didn't ask whether the deal is 10k or 15k pa because I didn't want to highlight any issues in case some other customer's orders manage to slip through at 15k.
He told me they've had around 12 approvals come back from Citroen so far (in dribs and drabs, his words). He said he'd call me as soon as my approval came through. He didn't mention the mileage issue!?
Suspect some of us might be disappointed but fingers crossed they'll go through at 15k. To be honest it makes more sense to be a 10k deal for a couple of reasons (1 - most deals at 10k, 2 - the equivalent Picasso deal is 10k, 3 - 15k total mileage over the duration is easily confused as 15k pa).
Bit sick of waiting now - I'm half tempted to go with the Picasso deal if this falls through (depending on the excess mileage costs) but by the time I hear back they'll have probably sold out of the Picasso's!

We'll see when the paperwork comes through which it will be.

Really cheesed off too folks. The extra mileage deal works out an extra £675 based on doing 15k per annum or 22.5 for 18 months. That's at the extra mileage rate of 9p. That's £37.50 each month more!!!!! Ain't so cheap now.
mattharbord to jpp01uk
29 Oct 15#259
It is 100% 10k pa not 15k. If you have made an order for 15k it will be thrown away and will have to start again. The orders haven't been confirmed with Citreon as Citreon made the mistake and won't be accepting with 15pa. So everyone has to do it again if was to keep the cactus.
Was offered the Picasso aswell but 12 months deal and the fact it's so big (amazing for family's though) put me off. The gadgets and spec are amazing though.
So continued with my order for 10k which works out 27miles a day. Ordered black/black and there are only 3 of the blacks available.
My order has been accepted. The wife wanted deep purple (sounds a bit rude) and they had one of those. They are being shipped over in the next 3-4 weeks as the original deal they had with a dealer could not get supplied

They acknowledged it was advertised at 15k miles per year, but citreon have stated it is an error and should have been 10k miles. I told them I didn't want 10k miles and was offered 15k miles for £133.22 per month for a metallic car- still a cracking deal and can't wait for delivery

You're welcome. That is the ultimate deal you've got though, well done. We got our purple cactus feel yesterday so very happy although we got it from a more expensive £151/mth 12 mth deal posted previously.

11 Nov 15#299
How did you get to pick it up so fast? They seem to take ages to do paperwork. Flair instead of feel, can't argue about that. Better alloys, sat nav, park assist :-)

11 Nov 15#302
It was a national Citroen deal that needed to be registered by the end of last month, included the flair and feel models for the same price. Dealer submitted paperwork on Thursday, finance approved the same day, paperwork signed and submitted Friday and car registered that day. Car was delivered to the dealer from their compound last week and we picked up on sat. Though embarrassing they have it covered and unveiled it in the showroom. Quite cool with the rear windows tinted. Wife's happy enough

mattharbord
12 Nov 15#306
Just said end of November still but when asked about colours I wanted black and black anyway and he said there was only 3 so I got lucky though I would have had white with black panels. Some of this panels are funny colours so hope you get black panels on your purple car.

The paperwork from Citroen states the following:

I'd just like to thank the Op again for finding this deal...all the Citroen offers have gone for this car, well as far as I can see & I think the Picasso deals also? Via V4B the deal for this Cactus is now coming in at a whopping £6332.16 over 24 months, so over 18 months would be £4749 so as far as I'm concerned a massive saving of well over £2000. Not often you can say that in life! (Not saying V4B are the cheapest now by the way as may be cheaper elsewhere) - Many thanks.

Not according to the police. Go to " Ask The Police " and it states and so do the DVLA that the person who has the day to day use of the vehicle is the registered keeper and that the registered keeper is responsible for any fines that occur to the vehicle. As I said this is the police and DVLA's interpretation not mine.

I`ll have to do some research just to be sure. Had the car since last week and it is brilliant! I agree the gears are porridgey but it`s so smooth to drive, I absolutely love it! 1 Dec 15#352
I enquired with the lease company. They are the registered keeper and your insurance company need to be notified that the vehicle is on a lease to you for the period of the insurance. It shouldn't make a difference to your premium but that depends on your insurance company. Make sure you get this right because if you have an accident and have not recorded ownership correctly the insurance company will use this to avoid paying up.

1 Dec 15#353

Tell that to a grumpy police man/woman when you get stopped and see if he/she will agree with you as he impounds your car because he can't verify if you should be driving the car.
Ronnyuk
1 Dec 15#356
Don't be silly, the police come across leased vehicles every day, just like they come across company vehicles and the same applies, some lease companies allow you to be the registered keeper (not the legal owner) but others do not, it's a formality and nothing to be worried about. the reason the lease company stay as the registered keeper is they pay the yearly VED on most leases. They will quickly forward any speeding or parking tickets to your home address do not worry
barneystuta
1 Dec 15#357
When I worked in Leasing, in all my deals the owner was the finance company.
The registered keeper was the individual or company that leased the vehicle.
It may be a miss communication from V4B. I've never known a lease for the leasing company and/or the Finance company to be the registered keeper.
As people aluded to above, try explaining that to the police! Haha!
Please don't take this as financial/insurance advice tho... If in doubt, double check
amyp88
1 Dec 15#358
Thanks for that. I checked with the V4B and citroen contract motoring and they both said I am not the registered keeper

The subtle or maybe not so subtle difference here is that this is Personal Contract Hire i.e. long term hire & not a Personal Lease deal i.e. Citroen Contract Motoring are noted as both the owner & registered keeper. Everyone should tell their Insurer just in case although most should have no issue as it's not really a rating factor. (I suspect there is a Tax loophole here somewhere (?) meaning CCM do this so they can reclaim the VAT on these vehicles by owning them for a certain time period which is why the deal is being made available at such a low rate to the punter i.e. 20% on an alleged value of approx. £17K is quite a lot of money to claim back from the tax man, add the 18 month rental......well you can all do the maths!)

I took delivery last week and absolutely love it.
Coming from an 08 Seat Ibiza, which was relatively good spec, this feels like a great upgrade. A really nice drive, already feeling the economical benefits getting c58mpg on almost 400 miles. The Cruise Control, once I got used to it, is much better than the one on my Ibiza. When I can maintain my speed I find myself adjusting it with the +/- buttons without touching the pedal. Super lazy!
It is a nice little app and syncs your trips, MPG, and more via bluetooth. A handly little tracker and you can even export your data by email (say for things like budgeting, buying your car insurance, etc).
Thanks again OP. While delivery took a little longer for me than I had hoped, there is no getting away that this is a superb deal.

Unbelievable
That has to be the ugliest car I've ever had the misfortune of having seen.
This is marginally better. Marginally. Not acceptably better, but marginally
Still will never understand the logic behind those exterior panels
tbf I actually quite like the look of these...
plastic panels on the doors look alright to me and save on those car park dents
There are plenty of folk that will be charmed by the design, and for them this is an unbelievable deal. Even for those that aren't enamoured with the design, well, we suck it up and buy alternative brands of canned beans if it's a good deal... and this is a good deal!
and what is the company repute like rip off by the end for scratches etc etc bla bla bla
any advise guys...

I'd be really interested if I hadn't just bought something else :disappointed:
I did see one on the road the other day in all black like the one above and it looked lovely. It had some small bits of red (possibly wing mirrors) which added a bit of character to it.
I'd probably get one in bright yellow with dark plastic panels just to p!ss off the neighbours !
Red hot
Excellent deal voted hot
And as someone else said, they are perfect to prevent parking dings on a lease car.
For reliability and comfort I would pick the Audi every time.
but i just ordered a Hyundai Tucson, which was a joy to drive.
Think I will get one as I am caning the Jaaaaaag with the mileage I am doing. Who cares what it looks like on the outside - just need to check with my insurers in the morning
But then people buy the Joke, sorry Juke. Now that looks awful and drives awful and has no space. At least this car is spacious and practical. Others buy that *****ty Audi, just because it has a Badge. Looks like a dog trying to poo!
Heat added.
I like the interior being mixed up, I keep my walls neutral and ceilings white at home with zest from art and large focal pieces...that's not how I like my car interiors though, all black with a hint of grey or vice versa - I was shocked at Arnold Clark how absolutely boring car interiors have become. Who wants dull depressive when your in your car, you can look out at the bus **** faces in winter for that
A car interior should be sharp and stimulating, because when driving that's what you need your mind to be.
It's diesel.
If this is true how can any business offer this deal and make a profit ?
Are they going to hit you with a large bill at the end of the lease period ?
No maintenance means if the engine seizes up you have to pay the cost of a new one ?
No maintenance means you have to pay for servicing during the term, like oil change, tyres etc, as opposed to some deals which include this.
Car warranty still applies so if engine fails will be covered under that unless driver error...
"Their" not "there"!!!
You can also get a 12 month lease which I've seen but only 10k per annum and 3+11 but it works out around £150 per month. I guess good incase you're worries about living with the cactus for too long
Still I may be going crazy but I think it's starting to grow on me.
Cactus 12 month, 10k
Good luck getting this to last 15k miles, let alone two years.
its bloody cheap.
you won't be able to find any cheaper deal than this unless you want a Suzuki Alto.

You think a 2011 Audi is going to be reliable? Ah, okay.
Also, it really is butt ugly, and when I used '£80k', I wasn't talking about an almost 5 year old shed (to be fair they START at almost £50k, my mistake).
I prefer the black as it hides the panels a bit more - I'm not sure how much say you get over colours or spec when leasing?
It looks like when the designers took it to the Board to show them an elephant sat on it in the car park.
The Skoda Roomster is a close second though, clearly the designer of the front half never met the designer of the back half.
If I put £40 petrol in I'm lucky to get 170 miles where as the citroen is doing about 70mpg
Can you pick the colour or is it random? I am after a black one
Can you pay by normal direct debit for it, or do you need to apply for a finance? If finance is the only option, is it 0% interest?
Go and buy a second hand Jap car if you want a cheap reliable and economical car.
I really didn't think anybody was stupid enough to fall for these scams anymore, it's 2015 FFS.
Yes, you have to have a credit check, and in my experience they are fairly strict. It's not 'finance' as such, it's more akin to a mobile phone contract, so there is no interest rate.
There's nothing wrong with being a bit individual you know???
Can't believe how many people have posted "ugly" on this deal - beauty is in the eye of the beholder so why don't you go and behold something else and leave us to ponder this very attractive - in all senses of the word - deal.
http://www.reliabilityindex.com/manufacturer
As you can see the french do ok much better than german cars nowadays as an average. However I totally accept that the best selling french cars tend to be smaller, simpler cars with a strong bias towards female owners who love the french styling etc That said they are often the cars that are used more on urban runs which generally is higher wear with more gear changes compared to the larger executive cars that have easy motorway miles. The reality is if you want reliability you go Japanese most of the time. Where as the reliability of german cars has fallen quite badly over the years the Japanese have remained the most reliable over many decades.
Not too bothered at all by the looks of it. The plastic side things look a little odd but as someone who uses a car to drive from A to B and has no interest in speaking about cars in any other capacity, something that cheap would do me.

20 forms had been sent prior to mine.
FIY I have filled in the form online
If those comments above are correct, then I am not overly hopeful.
As far as I know, if you asked for a quote using the online form, that is an enquiry. If you filled out a form asking for employment details, previous address and a few other details needed for a credit decision, then you have made an application.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
I filled it in on Word, printed and signed it and then scanned and emailed it back.
I have just phoned them there and he said he received my form, it was all in order and is with Citroen. He is yet to get any decisions back.
He also said that the credit decision is made on the value of the repayments over 18 months, not on the full value of the car.
He's a very confident guy.
My current lease will still have two months left when this one arrives too, which is a bit crazy, but it seemed too good to turn down. Plus it's only 18 months so it will fly by even if I regret it.
I've sent back the order form, hopefully they've not sold out yet.
Some people will get rejected and drop out. There is also a legit chance they could get another dealer to get involved.
I haven't actually returned it yet as I was worried about passing a credit check on a new car and didn't want the footprint if I don't have a chance. I'll call tomorrow morning and see if there any updates - I was told 65 cars LEFT.
I wouldn't submit any details unless there's a guarantee of a car if you're accepted?
Been asked for color and told that all of the cars have to be delivered by end Nov.
He is double check the colours' availability (told black or white) and get back to me with all of the paperwork
Did all of you get the same info for the car to be delivered by end November?
Also, is it 1+11 so a 12 month lease?
I expected it within 7-10 working days. Oh well, you cannot expect much for the price, I guess.
Great 22nd birthday's present for myself
So far so good
I would much prefer a Picasso, especially with the spec you describe, but I am concerned that I won't be able to find such a good offer in 12 months time, so 18 sounds better to me.
What do you think?
Just got a call saying that is it 15k miles per DURATION, and not per anumm - seems like Citroen and/or V4B made a mistake
So basically, the deal above is for 10k miles p.a. - waiting for a quote for 15k, as 10k is no good for me..
I don't doubt you but I'm hoping it's not true! I'd rather go for the C4 Picasso deal and pay the excess mileage charges.
He offered us the Picasso deal, and that was 10k per annum for a 12 month deal.
We'll see when the paperwork comes through which it will be.
Was offered the Picasso aswell but 12 months deal and the fact it's so big (amazing for family's though) put me off. The gadgets and spec are amazing though.
So continued with my order for 10k which works out 27miles a day. Ordered black/black and there are only 3 of the blacks available.
This will be my car so very happy http://youtu.be/jt0ehvV_PCM
I'm in the same boat as Devro - the only contact I've had has been started by myself. Might pop into my local Citroen dealer at the weekend to see if they can price match another similar deal I've found.
If they still have the Picasso available I might bite, even at 10k mileage.
Oh well, I'll wait to see if I hear anything on Monday but at 10k miles I don't think I'm interested.
Thanks to the OP for posting nonetheless.
I'm putting in an order via "Yes-Lease" instead ... I might post this as a separate deal once mine is confirmed properly.
9+11 (12 month lease) - 15k miles - £1101.04 initial, plus 11x £89pm = £2,080 for 12 months
9+11 (12 month lease) - 20k miles - £1198.20 initial, plus 11x £99pm = £2,287.20 for 12 months
Other upfront payments are available if you prefer a lower deposit and higher monthlys.
The 20k mile deal is equivalent to 11p per mile which I believe is about the same price as this original deal.
Will be here end of November.
On the quote it says 15k miles but the delivery note says 10k miles
I have gone for the Met Grey...Cant wait
Oh mines with Freedom Contracts. I saw someone post the link in this thread, think they still have the deal.
Note - Contract start date is the date of delivery of the vehicle and must be within 14 days on the vehicle registration date.
I got that through yesterday and the car is registered from today (12/11/15) so should be delivered by 26th November.
Here is my timeline:
Proposal received/returned Monday 26/10
Order form received/returned Friday 30/10 (and deposit paid)
Finance documents received/returned Wednesday 11/11
First installment paid 12/11
Delivery date received 16/11
Delivery 19/11
I'll give them a nudge

Really is a lot of car for the money. Quite a deal
I told my insurance it was a lease car they asked who I leased it from and that was that.
Super lazy!
A few tips for new Cactus owners are here: http://www.cactusforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=674
Most you will find in the manual, but some nice little 'tricks' in there just to make your life easier.
Also - while not officially available in the UK (only France it seems) you can download Link My Citroen.
iOs guide here - http://www.cactusforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=350
Android apk here - http://apk-dl.com/link-mycitro%C3%ABn/com.psa.citroen
It is a nice little app and syncs your trips, MPG, and more via bluetooth. A handly little tracker and you can even export your data by email (say for things like budgeting, buying your car insurance, etc).
Thanks again OP. While delivery took a little longer for me than I had hoped, there is no getting away that this is a superb deal.
I guess people are due to end this lease soon, what options have you been given?
Mine ends in May and told an extension isn't an option and struggling to find a deal anywhere close to this!
