I have only been insured for 12 years but I think I have paid around £3500 for all those years combined. Currently paying £180 per year on a golf. my fist year was £1100 aged 20, then £650 for my second and below £400 ever since. The best thing about being old is cheap car insurance! Enjoy your teenage years lol

The initial payment of £950 ex. VAT is for business contract only - Personal contract requires initial payment of £1140 ex. VAT (you can see this when you click on 'other deals' then 'personal deals')
So the actual total to PAY over the term of 12 months is £1745.89 Please amend the title to reflect this change as it is misleading.

I thought part of the attraction of leasing was spreading payments at a monthly fixed rate, so the relatively high initial payment sends to defeat the object for me. There have been several cheaper deals (when you compare the a'll-in monthly cost) than this and whilst they may not be on right now, this doesn't strike me as a good deal.
Those dissing the car are obviously not in the market for this car or type of deal, so why bother looking and commenting - I suppose these days there's not as many iPhone deals on this site for people to be able to make unhelpful comparisons.

I think somebody should be defending these little cars. I had a C1 for seven years (changed my car about four months ago) and I loved it. It never let me down started in all weathers and had no mechanical priblems at all. It was cheap to run with tax and petrol costs being low. I had friends with much more expensive cars who had lots of different problems with their cars but I can't complain at all about mine

It's much better to pass your driving test at 17 and not drive until your 21 than do what you did and wait until your 21. The reason is your insurance company give a reduction for the amount of time you've had a full clean licence.
Try this out yourself on a mock insurance quote on a comparison website.
Another big advantage of doing this is when you first pass your test you're on 'probation' for a few years and if you get 6 penalty points or more you loose your licence and have to pass again, you will never get any points if you don't drive!

A 125 bike to get from Manchester to Bolton, which involves motorways?! On a CBT you're not allowed on the motorway and even with a full license you wouldn't want to be on the motorway on a 125.

As far as this deal goes - it's OK; not great. Dressed up payment because of the large deposit. Over the 12 months its £128 p/month + whatever they bill you for at handback. Nothing amazing compared to PCPs available on these.

unless you were stupid enough to say 'oh i drive the car all the time' how would the insurance company know that? for all they know you had the accident on one of the rare times you used the car.
ms2005
4 Oct 15#58
Problem with this is that you'll be classed the main driver were you to have an accident and insurers won't pay or they'll ask you to pay the difference in premium (doubt the latter if they've a valid reason to decline cover)
So the warranty means you won't be walking or sat in it waiting for recovery?! Still a nause and inconvenient so is relevant donut!

Why's this so hot? Just googled Citroen Feel lease deal and this (see below) 18mth deal was at the top and works out £19.50 per month cheaper. 10k per annum, 18mth contract, only £502.32 up front then £83.72 for 17 months (no admin fee). Total £1925 for 18 months. Are people just seeing the monthly fee rather than realising they lose the upfront payment and admin fee over the 1 year? http://www.vertuleasecars.co.uk/new-citroen/new-citroen-c1/hatchback-1.0-vti-feel-3dr/499810/

I never held my own insurance until I was 21 due to the price. Just had to go on both my parents insurance and borrow their car. Luckily my dad never used his car much so was very rarely without wheels. It's a real nightmare for young drivers - and their parents.
