It appears the Banggood deals are welcome on here these days. I'd posted this a while back, but it wasn't accepted by the mods.
With the newer Intel x5-z8xxxx processors out these days, this is getting a little long in the tooth, but it's at a great price-point and well worth it.
It's the usual spec of 8 inch Windows tablet, with the notably great features:
* Dual boot Windows & Android (scoring over 35,0000 on Antutu!)
* 32GB eMMC storage with around 160MB/s read and 140 write, so faster than many.
* 2GB
* HDMI output.
* Mine came with 1 year of MS Office 365, which you can install on a laptop and this tablet.
* Easily upgraded to Windows 10
All these features together make this good value for money in my books. Many other machines have 32GB storage, but only 1GB of RAM or no HDMI. This has everything that I'm interested in.
The Android installation is great, with very little bloat on it. Asphalt 8 runs amazingly well.

This happens to be my favourite site for buying from Asia.
I've ordered so many items from them and never been stung yet by customs. I don't try evade tax either nor do i tell them to.
I have ordered this tablet and the HI8 from them too. selling my Linx 7s because of them.
VI8 is pretty decent device.
I pulled the key for office 365 then updated the device to windows 10. i then did a clean install after it. I removed the "recovery" parition to windows 8.1 wimboot files. Back them up if you need too. you will have to mount the recovery partition and copy to another source. They are hidden.
I rooted the android rom to remove all the east Asian apps and modified the build.prop to set the region as UK, language to english and the timezone to GMT. always defaults to this when i do a factory reset if and when required.
windows 10 runs in compact mode and i have around 11gb free. I intergrated all the drivers into my windows 10 installation.
the only thing that bugs me on the VI8 is when switching to other OS from 10. I have to use an updated version of it as i can't use the windows 8 version. the messege pops up and boots into android. when i switch OS from android it loads windows and pops up with the messege about me switching OS again from within windows. i have to click cancel or else it will boot back to android.
decent work around.
The 2gb ram on this is a lot better than the 1gb on my linx 7, however on my unit i have an unkown brand emmc(generic emmc) for the 32gb storage.
it feels like they cut corners with this.
another point i want to mention is when i installed windows 8, the speaker was popping all the time and it crackles a bit in android. when i updated to 10, no issues with sound in windows at all.
this device was then passed onto a family member to use.
i use the HI8. slightly more (i think i paid £60). The screen is much better on this. 1080p i beleive. the emmc is samsung according to my unit and i feel it doesn't struggle in certain operations where the VI8 does.
however the HI8 have a HDMI port of any variety. it does have a slightly better CPU.
another thing to mention is that with the Chuwi devices, i am able to change how much ram to give towards graphics in the bios. i used to own a pipo x7 which was limited to what value i could have but on the pipo i can go all the way to 512.
cherrytrail devices are coming out and i image these will get updated just like everything else. but if you want a tablet now that is great for watching movies/streaming, light surfing and the best of both OS's then these devices fit the bill(HI8 over the VI8 for watching movies unless you need HDMI).
the cameras are poor on those if that's something you're after.
oh and even though i ordered from the normal warehouses, mine came via royal mail in about 3-5 days.

I've made 49 orders from these guys, with many of them being this size. I have not paid any fees for anything. Just don't get it sent DHL, send it by standard post.
Of course, with all orders from overseas, you must be willing to accept the possibility of this. It's part and parcel of importing stuff above £18. Having said that, they marked a value of about £15 on the package.

Essentially customs do not sit and check every package at every facility (port etc). They do a sample on certain sites on a random (but regular basis), you can get caught once but not again, just depends on when they are checking.

Good feedback. I actually ordered the hi8 as well, before realising that it didn't have HDMI out, but the Z3736 makes about 10% difference in performance, and the 1080 screen is really nice. If I were you, I'd post that up here, because it's a good deal at around £62.

If it's 'part and parcel' as you so eloquently put, should the true cost not also be stated in the description? As it's just a gamble whether you are charged are not.

Maybe you can work out the 'true' cost of it and let us all know. I have no idea as I have never been charged.
It would vary depending on the postage method you choose, since each carrier applies a handling fee on top of the standard import duty on the assumed value, which there is no way of knowing, since they mark it as below £18.
As a guideline with the default postage, I might guess around £20.
There's certainly no requirement for me to add a made-up extra cost into the OP. Most people who import goods have a basic understanding that extra fees may possibly apply and are happy to don their big-boy trousers before embarking on that adventure.
Or you can just play it safe and pay £70 for a Linx 7 with 1GB RAM from eBay.

Pretty decent device. I already have one and it's way worth the money. dual boot gives you the best of both worlds and windows 10 works like a beast on it. just not very happy with the preinstalled Chinese software on the android partition. tried to root it using all the forums that exist and have nor been very successful.

Interesting - all the stuff I've read says that device manager reports the hardware but it doesn't function on either OS. Is there are driver or other fix that needs to be applied to make it work?
