I agree, although I didn't stay in NY State when I flew the last time so the cheapest flight I could get made me happy.. I think i paid about £290 with a bag, isn't for many people although both times I flew the flights were fully booked. Enjoyed it (the 787 flight) a lot more than a Virgin (A340/747) flight I've flown multiple times before - Although possibly because new plane/new tech.

In that case I'd much rather pay extra for BA from LHR. You can get a package for about £450 for flights + hotel city break

They are literally Ryanair of transatlantic, although I've used them twice from Gatwick to JFK and not had any problems, I did pay for luggage both times, but food I didn't the second time and slept the whole journey.

Don't forget to factor in time/cost of getting to the outlet stores, no point shopping in NY it's very expensive, assuming you are after clothes.

Depends what time you look. Prices change all the time. Cost me an extra an extra £200 by the time my daughter confirmed she could make it.
