Tesco Extra Yate (BRISTOL) are currently selling Castrol Edge 5W-30 4L for £9.50, the sticker was white so I assume it might be national. Staff did say they had more of it after I had purchased some but I'm not sure how much

From experience of working with a friend who owns his own garage business, if you are having to ask if this oil is suitable for your car, you probably shouldn't be contemplating buying it. Modern vehicles have such a huge variance in their specific oil requirements and you are likely to cause hidden or delayed damage to your vehicle through misuse of oil products. Either check it up online properly or get you car serviced by an insured and competent professional :man:

Anybody know the difference between this and the c2? My oil Is the same but has c2 at the end of its name
My Subaru requires C2 engine also. A LOT of research later, I came to the conclusion that nothing else would do. Typical for a lot of Jap cars, the higher SAPS should result in longer engine life, without damaging TWC/DPF. I believe a specific compromise between fuel economy / engine life / protecting emission systems.

None in stock at Melton Mowbray or Ashby stores :disappointed:
A generic question followed by a confident, sweeping answer that has actually no merit whatsoever, no matter how well intentioned. There was no mention of year or engine variety in question or answer.
Putting in the wrong rated oil can cause a lot of damage, especially over time and if mixing varieties with what is already in there.

why do some "Get deals" link simply take me to a general website rather than the deal in question?
For instance this one takes me to Tesco and when I search for the item in the deal its not listed.

Probably because you receive a load of abuse asking for proof, it's store specific, a wild goose chase etc. Funnily enough I picked up 5 litre Asda own brand 5w40 fully synthetic oil this morning for £7 from Asda Rushden. No idea if it was store specific or nationwide but not worth the hastle of posting or someone picking apart my spelling and grammar!

14 Oct 15#54
it has become an absolute joke that we ask for proof of purchase. clearly some logic sense needs to be applied to a deal. when will you ever get a national deal for this oil at £9.50? clearly just store specific trying to get rid of old stock. this site is to post deals and not to prove it. some 1 could have been fortunate to be at the right place at the right time to get themselves a bargain, they then post it so that others could get lucky but ppl want proof?

Misleading ad so cold, no mention on threadline anyway this is Tesco specific store and could mislead others to assume its a wider Tesco deal.
Its not its only probably in very limited stores I'm sure by the sound of it.
I don't mind a deal being store specific but try to be honest about it on the thread line.
