I honestly don't understand the price... Linx 10, basically the same specs, half the price without the keyboard?

Read the two reviews on REVOO.....some people are so stupid. We now have the power of the internet to find out things we don't know, to ask questions of others globally. We have the ability to review and research just about every single item we wish to possess and then some people who have bought the Asus leave some negative comments shown below.

1. Can't get my normal apps - only Windows apps.
2. Memory Storage a bit low but memory cards or portable hard drive sort this problem

As for my opinion on the Asus. It has some very good tech reviews but for me I bought the Lenovo Miix3 which has better screen resolution of 1920 x 1200, otherwise everything else the same apart from the price. Lenovo was £50.00 cheaper and sold out completely in a few weeks at £149.99 + 2 year warranty from JL. Not hot for me but the Asus is a good little laptop so not voted cold either.

Also same price at Currys PC World and Amazon although at Amazon if you pay another £16.07 you get a 500gb hard drive which seems a better deal for me.

read a few weeks back that a new cherrytrail x3 version was coming out and with 64gb storage. i guess it's most likely for America only and we'd get the 32gb version. would have been nice if it was the x7 version.

This is great value at £200. Its not going to be the fastest thing in the world but it is a reasonable small full windows laptop with Office (albeit Office 365. if you look hard enough you might be able to find one with full Office 2013 Home and Student). I hardly use this as a tablet but its perfectly usable. Keyboard is small obviously, so could be awkward for long use if you have big hands!

I have used this to play various games its actually surprising what it can play. Mainly I played Football Manager 2015 and it works fine. 2gb Ram isnt great, hence the price tag. Windows install leaves you with about 15-20gb storage, I added a 32gb sd card and use that to install games/media files which works fine.

Keyboard dock also gives you a regular usb port which you dont get with the cheaper Linx. Asus have a few good value products out there at the moment, not sure if that means their build quality suffers I guess time will tell. Asus desktop motherboards were always known to some of the best. I know a few people who have bought this and not been disappointed.

I have this tablet and chose it over the linx. It's a great little machine and I've had no issues.

Build quality is fine and battery life is excellent. The keyboard is a great addition for when you need it.

My wife has one of these. Constantly gets "out of memory" errors, with just 2 browser tabs open and nothing else running. Don't know if it's the tablet or Windows 8 but it's not ideal

If you dont mind a refurbished one, it's £150 from argos on ebay with a 12 month warranty.

Might want to wait for the T100HA, better CPU, up to 4GB RAM etc.
Or if you want a better screen, have a look at the T100CHI.

In this particular thread his comment was very useful to me as I had forgotten what a low resolution screen this has (a long time since I looked at getting one). I'm not about to go through and check post history but it's not hard to imagine that each time "1366 X 768" has been posted it has been appropriate and accurate. What's wrong with you?

​lol ive owned my own pc/laptop repair business for 15 years and have had to repair plenty of these. i also owned a t100 pre release gave it to my nephew and got fed up of having to repair it all the time, he also got fed up of how slow it was whilst browsing and playing basic browser games so i gave him a linx and although the specs are simular it just runs as it should do and although a chunky peice of kit its very robust.

Odd that the buying public go for higher resolutions on their 5 inch phones... This is despite knowing that higher resolution will cost them battery life.

Sorry, but your experience simply does not tally with the experience of most other people that use the T100. As an example, there are hundreds of videos on YouTube showing this tablet playing far more challenging games than the ones you say it struggles with!
I have also personally owned and used both tablets. I was initially tempted to keep the Linx and sell my T100 for profit. But the T100 works better, has vastly better battery life, and an actual usable keyboard! It's lighter too. I have used mine for video editing 1080p vids whilst cycle touring. I also use it to play Asphalt 8 Airborne on a dual monitor setup. So your experience just doesn't make any sense at all to me.

Perhaps you should upgrade to Windows 10, then do a clean install....and then see how your T100 fares.

I have found this to be a great piece of kit. I got it with office 2013 which is useful. Its quite small and the mini HDMI port is useful. Run chrome with Hola on it and then use Netflix to watch worldwide films on your television via the HDMI cable or detach the keyboard.

Agreed. I tried a few 3D games such as Fallout Vegas and Lego Marvel and both played on low settings/low res. 2D games run fine. Battery life is nothing short of amazing in my opinion, it seems to last forever.

Saying you've had to repair plenty doesn't actually make it a bad machine. Say it sells 10x as many as any other machine and you only get 9x as many to repair. Percentage wise it makes it more reliable. I always take that type of thing with a pinch of salt. As always its a do your own research thing and see if there are known issues with it first before buying.

Doesn't make it bad. I recently recieved the acer switch 11 and while i had many issues with it the one thing i really thought i wouldn't like would be the 1366 x 768 screen. Actually it was the best thing about it.

I would say the 1366 x 768 shouldn't be the major factor in whether to buy or not in 10.1 screens. Bit different if you're after a 17inch gaming laptop.

​its been scrapped now, the digitizer is like egg shell had to replace it twice after minor knocks so just used the parts on other projects. this was prior to windows 10 was released, maybe windows 10 helps resolve the lag and browser gaming issues it certainley has been a godsend reviving many old machines giving them a new lease of life but that wont help the build quality.
i agree asus are usually good quality, especially when it comes to pc parts my gaming pc is 90% asus but that wont change what experience i have had with the t100.

My T100 has been in a pannier bag for at least 5,000 miles of its existence (I've even been on single track mountain bike routes with my laptop in the pannier!).
The screen is intact, battery life (still) superb, and performance is annoyingly good (I kind of want an excuse to upgrade!). Windows 10 hasn't made a huge difference to performance. It was excellent on Windows 8.1, and it is still excellent now.
