I've ordered twice and delivery was next day. The bags were delivered at the same time as the other 'stuff' in the order.
One bag was delivered in a box, the other in a clear plastic bag. Both arrived safely.
Warning: you need somewhere to store all the toilet roll, easier said than done as there's LOADS of it :laughing:

I wonder are people's orders showing up both items because it doesn't tell you on Mobile but definitely removes the bag from my basket, it doesn't tell me it has, but before going to Paypal I can see it's no longer there.
Tried, Safari, some other mobile Engine, Firefox Mobile, Firefox Windows and IE Windows and none work.

If you try and add now directly on the site rather than link from here it will advise:

The TCB offsets some of the VAT and I'll use the cashback on Tesco clubcard points too.
I've been happy buying Cushelle from Co-Op, £5 for 16 rolls and there's only 15 less rolls than that in this deal but with a case.

Tested on my phone now also along with Macbook and Windows PC all same issue will show 2 in the basket and drops off before you hit payment didn't give me the error on phone but only shows 1 item in basket must be somehow cached on your phone still.

Good deal...I have a cabin bag almost just like that...But I paid a lot more than that...perhaps £60 at least. I Was traveling back from the middle east and I'd brought some honey with me. Honey from the mountains of Yemen...It was hand luggage and when I got to Schiphol airport they said I could only take it with me if I checked it in. My suitcases had gone through already. Rather than bin the honey I had to buy a suitcase. The staff at the airport were not helpful at all and in fact were just making fun of the fact. Later I complained and they offered 50 Euros compensation if I flew with KLM again. And all because my plane was diverted because of snow.

It's not an error it's a legitimate special offer, the suitcase is free with any order over £30 (as printed in their catalogue). The Cushelle is a realistic price. Unless they've sold more than they had stock for I doubt they'll be cancelations. Their warehouse may however be wondering on Monday morning why on earth they've sold so much loo roll! ;-)

For anyone that can still grab it (as it looks like its location dependent) I would recommend the bag. I have the same (or very similar from pictures) one that I bought from JL a few years ago.
Very light (I bought it as it was one of the lightest they had), very durable and strong. Also looks very smart, got a few admiring comments from colleagues. Still looks like new and I've packed it to the rim several times when taking cheap flights (Ryan Air/EAsy Jet). The Mrs is disappointed as she's wanted the same one for a while.

I don't think this is as amazing as people think. The reason is that you can get 18 packs of good quality toilet roll for £3.99 in B&M and Home Bargains. Buy 5 of those for £20 and if you want a cabin bag you can get Dunlop ones from Sports Direct for about £10 - which are very good quality IMO.

Think their system has a problem. Case doesn't show as OOS for me but it comes up as £0.00 after adding the toilet rolls. So I added one - then another one then 5 - all free with free postage. Then removed toilets rolls - 5 cases still £0.00 total with free postage ! I didn't bother to order !

Fantastic deal so heated however I think there are going to be quite a few unhappy customers! Viking often, and as per their T&Cs substitute the freebies. It's risk free though as you can return your items for nil charge should you wish but just be prepared for the faff - I can't see them having 1000's of these to send out

The delivery man who delivered mine was rather baffled. I just nodded and looked innocent, like 96 loo rolls and a suitcase was a 'normal' purchase :laughing:

I emailed them to ask why I was told it was out of stock when a friend was able to order after me.
They didn't answer that (seems obvious now its location dependent). But offered me the following free gift instead:

Doesnt show up when I search the site. But assume from description its a "WALL CLOCK". Hope they don't switch to that for some of you who managed to order. Would have to be one hell of a clock to be equivalent. Although atleast with TCB the bog roll was a good price, so those of you that grabbed that won't be out of pocket. I'd feel more sorry for people that bought other stuff. Keep my fingers crossed they don't pull a switch.

Strange as others have received. Anyway asked them to cancel the whole order, they said they would try and I notified them I would be refusing delivery anyway if it arrives. Worth a try.

Here is my story
I placed two different orders over the weekend for today's delivery. Contacted the customer service to find out when they will deliver today as per emails they sent and got shocked to find out that delivery will be tomorrow, wasted first half of day at home. Was told that there would be no trolley for first order due to stock error. Also they told me that second order is not even showing the order of free gift. Completely contradictory information to what i could see by logging in to my account.
Following my rather annoying questions to her, customer services lady, regarding their incompatibility and not accepting the apology from her she then transfer me to her manager. Same story again and i decided to cancel the orders. He promised to credit my accounts with £10 each for inconvenience. By the way my accounts are still showing the orders and no credit there yet.
TBH if you are buying tissue then fair enough but for 99% of items on website are twice as much as on Amazon or other online retailers. I literally spent an hour to make £30 for reasonably price stationery order.
I would suggest you would be better off cancelling the order than having hundreds of tissues unless you have space and would need them in near future.

It definitely wasn't parcelforce or DPD.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't myhermes as I know the myhermes drivers locally and I think the driver had a branded grey and green shirt which said yodel?!
It was a white van which didn't have any branding on the side and the driver couldn't speak English, he shoved the electronic thing in my hand and made gestures. He also said something in another language, clearly laughing at the loo roll :laughing:

Sadly I've had dealings with Viking before that were dreadful, I wish I hadn't have bothered now :disappointed:
I had a fault with my printer which I purchased from them. They told me to pack it up and gave me a date which a courier would pick up the printer so they would exchange it for a new one. Packaged it all up and waited at home all day and so sign of a courier. I contacted them and they informed me that they had changed their mind and wanted me to try and fix it myself. Story goes on but they are a joke....

No, dsr rules do not expunge you of return delivery costs, just tell the driver your refusing the delivery, or if you're nervous don't answer the door, after two attempts they will take it to their depot, then after a couple of weeks send it back to viking

There is certainly stock available, it is not a discontinued item of manufactuering. Just depends how quickly Viking want to get their hands on more stock. I've been advised 5 to 7 working days direct from the manufacturer. Not sure I believe their estimation (although, I have it in writing), but also equally unsure of why all are absolutely convinced it will never come :smiley:

Under DSR return postage is only the responsibility of the purchaser if the seller has explicitly stipulated this prior to the purchase (in the sales contract for example). Otherwise it is the responsibility of the seller.
Had a quick search about returns policy and only saw advice to contact customer services to arrange collection. Maybe it mentions you pay the cost somewhere during the purchase process. But if not, looks like returns would be on them under DSR.

They said my payment could not be processed and to ring them back.
Spoke to the credit department who re-authorised payment. I asked whether both the paper and the luggage would be delievered tomorrow. She said the luggage was on backorder. I said how long. She went away to talk to somebody else and told me verbally it would be 5 to 7 working days. I asked for this to be emailed to me (as I had seen previous comments on this thread...she was a bit mystified why I wanted it emailed...).
So yes, the person on the phone did indeed email me to say 5 to 7 working days although she did add on the email that this is subject to change. But I made it clear on the phone I was only accepting my delivery tomorrow because I will receive the luggage at a future date - which she duly noted. Call time-logged and her name taken too. So as far as I am aware, sit back and wait for it to turn up - and if not, good luck to them defending the situation when they listen to the call back.

For those who received a call or email saying there is a failed payment - check your Viking account to see if the luggage is still on your order form.
There is a disclaimer on the emails saying an order is only accepted once the order and charge details have been confirmed. The Luggage became out of stock earlier today on the website, so when they reprocessed your order today after you confirmed your card details, it looks like the system omits the luggage from your order as its no longer available.

I'm pretty sure I read on the website that Viking will come and collect any items you want to return for free. You also get 30 days to return unwanted items. Why don't you just accept delivery and see if the case turns up in a week or two. If not get them to come and collect the toilet roll at their expense. Simple.
If an item does not meet your needs, you can return it within 30 days of receipt. Please contact our customer service to arrange this and reorder an alternative if required.

If I don't get the case I will be complaining and won't be shopping with them again. Toilet rolls are about what we normally pay when on offer at Costco (when cashback taken into consideration), however will take my custom elsewhere.
Will give them the benefit of the doubt for now given most orders were placed over the weekend, but disappointing when the case is still showing as available.

Oh dear - watch out folks. I disagree - not everyone is receiving a Samsonite case. Some have received hand-warmers instead and that's without being notified of an issue. I refused my delivery today as the suitcase wasn't one of the items to be delivered, however it is still showing as confirmed on the invoice.
I took this decision because Viking stitched me up "like a kipper" the only other time I have dealt with them. Help replied saying case not valid and out of stock but offered a wall clock.
Orders replied saying will send case when they get stock.
2 departments, 2 very different replies

I just feel that as my order was accepted and processed that I should receive something which I think is acceptable. Being offered a wall clock with no details (could only be worth a couple of pounds) isn't acceptable. My query is with the concern team.

I just got told after almost wasting an hour of my time on the Web chat that this was restricted offer for selected customers only and the offer should not have been shared in the first place etc etc.. and that the email confirmations were only preliminary not a definite confirmation you would get one therefore if you were not emailed this offer on person then ur not eligible for the case even with a confirmation on your email..so I have asked for them.to be collected seeing as I'm not getting the incentive mite as well get my money back n buy from elsewhere for less the agent was more then happy to oblige took my account number n simply disconnected without even a bye or il sort it out

in all honestly, those of you who accepted the delivery, for the sake of being messed around for ages by Viking and Yodel, I would be half inclined to just accept you have been done, as I fear they will make it very awkward now for those trying to do a return, after the way they are now reacting to people who ordered the case, the tissue is not a horrendous price, so unless you are up for a fight, take it and move on

I just rang to be told it will be delivered when it's back in stock. It sold out very quickly and more are on order for later in the week.
The toilet paper wasn't cheap. it is lidl's normal price for it. when they have it on offer it is approx 6 pence cheaper a roll. I bought two packs plus two other items so it's not a massive nuisance anyway.

I'd probably give it a punt and accept delivery, especially if you paid via PayPal.
I personally think the price of the loo rolls is good (especially with tcb) and Viking are saying they'll deliver the bag (I'm happy to let you use the email I have as proof).
Worst that happens is you have a stockpile of loo roll. Best that happens is you get a bonus case. Middle ground is Viking organise another offer (money off, another gift etc).
Depends if you have the space and want to take a punt on it!

The one just received (20 mins ago) was a new account.
I spoke to the delivery guy (yodel, and so nice!) who was exceptionally patient as I opened the box to make sure it was the case and then we made sure the right loo rolls were accepted (ie the ones from that order, not the order I was rejecting as the bag wasn't dispatched).
I saw loads of loo roll in the van, I explained the deal, he thought it was great.
I also saw two lots of flowers in his van, so two lucky people have nice surprises today :laughing:
It was fascinating snooping at the van and seeing what items people were getting today :laughing:

By my calculations the loo roll works out (with cashback) to be the equivalent of £7.66/24-rolls, which is a price I'd always stock up for. For comparison, in Asda right now they are £8/24-rolls, on offer.
So annoyingly, I'll probably end up keeping it even if no luggage shows up. Will still add to the noise that their customer service reps have to deal with though before I let it go!

This is the usual yodel man, he's fantastic. I spent over 5 mins faffing about, opened a box etc. He was exceptionally patient and didn't make me feel like he was in a rush to get to the next customer. He was chatty but not over familiar. Fantastic.
The other yodel guy from last week didn't speak a word of English and shoved the electronic signing machine in my hands, making gestures at me to sign it. He did his job, delivering them safely so I can't complain, but I much prefer the friendly chap!

I think it's disgusting how Viking have changed people's orders from within their systems (ie removing items) without informing people.
I think it's awful they don't know their **** from their elbow and can't tell people what is going on and tell everyone the same thing.
I think the loo roll was still a good price (with tcb).
I think I'm lucky to receive the bag (and am over the moon!!).
I think Viking may do something to apologise; they honoured the 1p boxes of celebrations that thousands of people ordered a few years ago.
PayPal can always help in a dispute, if you paid via PayPal. They didn't complete the order so PayPal should take that into consideration.
Viking won't want all these orders being sent back to hub, it will be interesting to see how they take it from here.
I would have thought a representative from Viking would have popped up in this thread tbh, in the past with these threads it's always worked well when someone comes out, admits there's an issue and says they're trying to resolve it (as opposed to silence or just messing customers about and telling them conflicting stories).

I don't mind that they ran out, but they have handled it badly, just sending out cheap substitutions rather than giving an opportunity to cancel.

Only received tissue. Rang customer service and requested a return label. Also opened up PayPal dispute. I would have accepted the tissue (as its good value) if they had handled it better by letting me know the item was out of stock or offering an alternative. But now returning on principle. Also the driver informed me the suitcase will be sent separately as it's not out of the ordinary, he sounded so convincing.

The driver told me he had several customers that had refused delivery due to lack of the flight case and that I was the only one to get it.
This was a delivery here in Lowestoft.
This was my first order with Viking, so I definitely was not a targeted customer.

People need to complain about the following as opposed to not getting the suitcase:
Allowing orders to be processed by people that shouldn't have had the offer - They KNEW this and have still sent them out.
Not informing customers BEFORE the parcel was sent that they would not get the case
Not giving people the option to cancel if they were buying it because of the offer
Giving people different stories on chat (mine said nothing about me not being chosen for this offer)

I agree but one point is that Viking's target customer is corporate clients, not the public.
They're not used to dealing with the public on such a large scale, however they've done the free gift thing and screwed up in the past (celebrations chocs a few years ago) so;
a) they should have a plan in place for when this kind of thing happens
b) even if no plan, they should have looked back at last time and worked out the best way to deal with it ASAP (they've had a few days to sort this out already)
c) they should have made the item customer specific; their systems are clearly capable of doing that (make it only work with a customer specific voucher).
I'll be keeping a close eye out to see how this progresses.

I didn't receive any suitcase either. When I asked the delivery driver , he had no clue what I was talking about. I called their customer services later and they told me that this promotion was meant for a particular group and they shared this offer to everyone. I couldnt argue because I had ordered without looking at any information about the offers on the website, simply after reading the HUKD. It had the same tracking number as some Sharpie pens I bought. That showed up, so I'm guessing there was something else in there as well. But if it was a suitcase it was the worlds smallest :smile: I suspect I may have had some hand warmers or similar in there!
Like most I don't mind the mess up on the order as such, even though I am on the look out for luggage. It has been handled very poorly by Viking however.

Online chat basically are saying i wont get a suitcase because the deal was only for people invited.
Email support sending me emails saying i will receive it next week. Or i can have a wall clock. I replied asking for a suitcase and they said as soon as it comes in stock they will send.
When asking the online chat guy, why the email support guys are telling me i will receive it next week, he just said they are giving the wrong information.
Viking have just made loads of money from a deal which they could not provide.

It's their fault if their system doesn't recognise who is entitled to the offer and who is not.
It's not fair that some people who weren't entitled to the offer got their suitcase and some have not.
CS keeps giving different info so they just give the impression that they don't have a clue about anything.
Still waiting to be contacted... I am lucky that it was meant to be shortly... imagine if they hadn't specified they were looking into this as a matter of urgency! Maybe by the end of the year I'll get a call from them.

They came today and there was only 18 rolls and no suitcase. Spoke to them on the phone. CS is really bad. They said we had to of know some how that the suitcase wouldn't turn up lol and they didn't say sorry for only bringing 18 rolls. Then they said they would give me a credit note lol I want my money back. They caved in and said they would refund me. I bet that is because I paid through Paypal. Now onwards to Trustpilot.

I spent some time wondering if they were going to turn up, and what to do if they didn't, but the tracking all showed OK on both our accounts, and lo and behold they all arrived this morning. Had a look in the van and ours seemed to be the only toilet rolls on board. Came from Reading, if that is any help. Ordered Saturday afternoon. Sad for those not getting what they ordered, though.

I accepted delivery as the driver told me that it the suitcase was coming in another delivery direct from the manufacturer! When I went online to check, the account says that I had SIGNED and had it DELIVERED which is not true! It is a shame I didn't get one as I needed one, but I would have been a bonus! What code anyway? I remember only one person being asked for it on here. Viking's CS is really poor. On live chat I was left waiting for minutes for a reply. It was like they were doing something else, both people I spoke to. After I politely thanked the second person, she never bothered to say bye or anything else for that matter so I said bye and closed the chat.
To go back to what I was saying before, there must have been a problem with their systems not asking for the voucher code, so that's their problem. Their priority should be to keep customers happy. They were happy to fulfill the part of the order that gave them money. If they had just cancelled all the ineligible orders then they would have done something more sensible.

Received my bog roll, the plastic on at least 2 of them is ripped open. The missus didn't even sign for it! The invoice shows the bag was ordered so I emailed them to be told they don't have any and I can have a wall clock!!
I could've got 120 bog rolls in Costco for the same price (after the cashback) but they don't have it on offer in the latest leaflet.
I'll probably end up keeping it, I can't be bothered to send it back. Has anyone got the clock, what does it look like?
This will be my first and last order with Viking, won't be using them again.

I'm not overly surprised that the deal has not been satisfied, this is not the first time because something got posted on hukd it went in a flash. I think many are taking this the wrong way returning the loo rolls, they are still similar to the price you'd pay in the supermarket. I personally will be requesting an alternative gift is sent or some sort of account credit is given, in which case it will still make the loo rolls more than worth it, as let's face it, carrying a massive pack of loo roll back from the shops is a bit of a chore so when you can get around 2 years supply delivered there's not much wrong with that.

THEY LIE. I e-mailed to ask about bag and got a reply saying more were coming in and would dispatch when in. I replied to that as case had now gone from their site. They now say (same person) offers only available whilst stock lasts and want to send me a wall clock. Asked them to pick up both mine and wife's orders and I had a go about lying to me so that the 2 weeks go by being the period in which I can return them. Also that after I received my order the cases were still available on their website, so they had decided not to send them to me. NOW ON MY BLACKLIST.

if anyone fancies further wrangling with viking customer services, the House of Lords judgment in https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esso_Petroleum_Co_Ltd_v_Comrs_of_Customs_and_Excise says that promotional gifts given with a sale of goods are bound by contract, so viking are breaking their contract if they do not supply a bag. Their terms and conditions cannot affect the customer's legal rights.

That's all good but they should have clarified that with customers before dispatch, ensuring customers are still satisfied with the order prior to dispatching. Customer could have cancelled the order, saving everyone a lot of wasted time. I bet there are delivery drivers across the country sick of the sight of toilet rolls lol.
Ours are going back for the simple reason the same ones are 24 for £8 in Asda meaning £32 for 96 making them cheaper than Viking. I said I am happy for a refund of the £6 postage and that will make them worth keeping....but no just a jeep of attitude so I said come back and pick them up!

On the plus side, we are supporting couriers up and down the country who are being kept busy and therefore employed through our mass orders and mass returns :wink: Every little helps.
I agree that if Viking just said, here's £5 off your order and we are sorry, I certainly wouldn't have cancelled. Their courier charges and admin restocking in the warehouse mean it wouldn't make that much difference to them - and their reputation.

The fault is OP of the deal as you all need to be aware that the Deals are with Leaflets sent to Customers either new or Ordered previously and got the Deal listed.
Their T&C say While Stocks last so Admin should be making sure that this is put on the Post so ppl don't waste their time.

it's their responsibility to update stock levels and cancel orders which can't be fulfilled. if you received a confirmation email saying you have ordered the bag then the customer should expect a bag, if it costs them x amount to order more bags then they have to do it, their t's and c's do not overrule the law of the land.

I'm obviously disappointed that I didn't get a Samsonite bag, hand warmers or a clock, or indeed any indication that VD weren't intending to deliver ALL the items that were in my order confirmation.
Furthermore I do think that Viking Direct have been incredibly naive, perhaps even incompetent in the way they have dealt with this fiasco.
Having said that, VD had no hesitiation in agreeing to collect and refund me for the toilet rolls.
What I really don't understand is why some people on this site think it is unfair that some people got the freebie and others didn't. I also don't think that there is any justification for a PayPal claim, credit card/bank claim or referral to trading standards. Those are all routes that are taken when the seller either will not comply with the DSR's, refund the cost of the transaction in full and/or they had deliberately tried to mis-lead. I don't honestly believe they set out to mess customers about. I'm sure if they had more cases they'd have sent them out.
I expect I'll get lots of abuse and vitriolic comments now but I had to say it.

I'm with you most of the way - up to "Deliberately trying to mis-lead". That is where they fall down, and that is why people are angry with them & why people feel they should complain to other authorities. A lot of people here feel they are misleading due to sending orders out without the luggage case (without telling you) and telling you that the luggage will follow.
That is, unless you asked them yesterday, and then they tell you the case was never coming. But, unless you follow this thread - or asked them yesterday - you have been misled: I would certainly argue deliberately. The problem would have been clear on Monday when they all got to work yet they were misleading customers throughout all of Monday.

The OP post a code for the Bag which was never Offered on the Site, as if had been , we all would have been able to search for the ITem, Hence it was open Open to those Customers who got sent the Offer.
As VD stated to me, the Link/Code was Leaked online and everyone Ordered the Item.
No Company has a System to tell which Customer is a Legit one who received the Offer or One who used the Code from Sites like this.
Hence again, why the OP should have posted the T&C and made sure it was an Open Offer to All.

I see your point but I had an online chat with them yesterday to arrange the return and the lady I chatted with really felt that they'd been shafted by HUKD's readers. I don't agree with her at all, but I think they were all rather shell shocked by the fallout from this (failed) deal. That doesn't mean I condone misleading customers. I just don't think there was any malice, just incompetence.
Personally, if I ran Viking Direct, I would have done a few things yesterday. I would have posted a well thought message on this board, and via email explaining in detail what went wrong. I'd also have put together a backup deal, the cost of which to VD would be covered by the combined costs of loss of sale, wasted delivery & collection costs, plus something for customer retenion.

Laughable people putting in Paypal claims before even letting the retailer come up with a returns solution because of a missing FREE gift, which is now a discontinued model in that colour and size anyway. Not that the offer was meant to be available to everyone in the first place. Sure communication could of been better but it takes a while for news to travel through big companies so that everyone is on the same wavelength about such a rare occurance as this.

Following my complaint by email, I have just been called by a manager and she told me that they didn't expect this huge demand since it was an offer sent to specific people and they will try to get more suitcases in stock but can't guarantee anything.
Well the courier had already come to pick up the toilet rolls for a return so I am not too bothered at this point, but there might be hope for someone else.

I received my rolls yesterday without the case what a surprise, I chased up customer servers and they gave me the same feedback as everyone else is getting. I am keeping the rolls as it's a decent offer with Quidco discount and nectar points, plus we were running out of rolls.
CS are sending me a wall clock, no idea what the quality will be but hey I did not expect too much from Viking to begin with, going forward I will be reluctant to shop with them again.

From the comments on here I'd say around 10% of people got their bags which by HUKD bingo standards is good!
And to the guy who said it was strange me looking at what the delivery man had in his van; I was there for 5 mins going through the order to make sure the right ones were accepted and I also opened up the box the luggage was in. I couldn't help but see what was in the van, and thought how nice that a couple of people are getting flowers. I love receiving flowers so thought how much joy those deliveries will bring.

As their stock control had appeared to be working when the deal was live (the bags were available in some areas but oos in others) it seemed really hopeful.

Waited in all day yesterday and then at 5:15 I got an email telling me they'd run out of time so delivery would be tomorrow as I'm out most of today (arranged on the phone). Came back from work to find they delivered this morning and left with a neighbour but no case. Called up and they referred me to their terms and conditions and politely said it was tough luck on not getting a case. I'm keeping the ink carts I ordered as they're not much more than Amazon but did cancel and delete my account - in future I'm sticking to Amazon as I know where I am with them.

Replied asking for details of the clock and was then told it was OOS. Asked if they could give me a reduction but they came back saying I can return the rolls and get a refund.

You've got nothing to apologise for, it's a cock up on Viking Direct's side. People may be frustrated (and some venting at you), but it's all down to VD and how poorly they've managed the issue (poor customer service, poor stock handling, poor offer handling, etc etc).
You highlighted a potential deal, but that's it, potential, nothing is ever a given (I've had stuff from other places supposed to be delivered or ready for collection and nothing there - but key thing is they handled it better) so people took their chances in getting one. There are loads of people who use this site and don't comment, and I would imagine that a lot of people placed orders (some excessive amounts) in order to get a case - either genuine need or to sell on.
I'm disappointed not to get a case (genuine need for one), but will chalk it up to experience and won't be using VD again.

Well, after contacting them yesterday asking for them to pick them up, a parcel guy turned up this morning to pick them up, no notice no nothing! This was after they initially said to wait 2 weeks for the cases to turn up because they were on back order, then on querying further saying they were only while stock lasted, As I said in my previous post they just wanted the 2 weeks to pass so I couldn't return. Why can't companies like this be straightforward? They might get return customers then. If they couldn't supply the cases then e-mail to tell me, not just send out the orders and have them all sent back!

If you take the refund, will it invalidate the TCB cashback (assuming you went through TCB)? ie gaining £15 back in cash, but losing £5.15 that could be doubled up if you take it as Tesco Clubcard vouchers. I'm not sure I want to give them more money, but if I lose the cashback it is tempting to buy £36 worth of goods for £11 (though probably not toilet roll this time!).

I am absolutely staggered that they only want to compensate the small minority that have not already returned their orders. And they think the rest that had to organise returns deserve nothing? I received the email nevertheless after refusing the item - as they said they couldnt supply the case - and I plan to take them up on a £15 refund and they can re-deliver my items.
Oddly I received an email stating:
"

Followed exactly 2 minutes later by the email explaining how they plan to compensate! I mean, they really couldn't do a better job of making customers hate them if they actually tried :stuck_out_tongue:

If you plan to get more loo rolls, the £15 refund is the better option. I will ignore any cashback because not sure if Viking will pay out if part paying using £25 voucher.
96 rolls @ Viking using £25 voucher is £11.00 96 rolls @ Wilkinson using £15 refund is (£2 for 9 rolls of Regina or 22p each x 96 = £21.33 minus £15 refund) = £6.33
96 rolls @ Home Bargains using £15 refund is (£3.99 for 18 rolls of Nicky or 22p each x 96 = £21.33 minus £15 refund) =£6.33
If you include possible 20% Quidco cashback (£6), Viking price will be £5 but unlikely the cashback will be paid.

I am confident cashback (£5.15 or worth upto £10.80 if taken as Tesco points then Boost ) will be paid on the original order because it was paid with cash so better just to get the £15 refund. Also, it saves the hassle and embarrassment of returning 96 rolls to the driver, especially if he doesn't give you a receipt for the collection.

Don't think you can really moan. Just shows a bit of patience pays at times. I never really understood the panic to refuse orders or demand returns, they had a 30 day free returns policy. Yes it's taken them a few days to understand the scale of the problem and come up with a reasonable solution but they stated on many occasions that they were looking into it.
Those that have returned have got the same deal as everyone else, you just selected option 1 a bit prematurely.

I'm still glad that I refused delivery and am having nothing more to do with them. Only ordered the toilet roll for the case, so not that bothered that I am free to choose my brand and price. Aldi do some nice ones. Those of you who have the Cushelle will be reminded at least daily, for 96 rolls worth. Heck, I'm even going to avoid the brand coz I can!

Have to laugh really on Tuesday when I saw what was happening I phoned and cancelled my delivery for Thursday, yesterday was a knock on the door with a Yodel van outside asked driver if there was a case so as there wasn't rejected and returned the delivery, spoke to CS and said the refund would automatically happen as I rejected the order so hopefully that was the end of, Today knock at the door looks on the door step and three packages of loo roll one brown box :smiley: so I graciously accepted the order :smiley:

It's a code (think set to 000) lock.
The key bit doesn't actually come with a key, it's a special aviation lock that airport security personnel have a universal key to open the case if they suspect something suspicious is in there.
That would only happen if you checked the luggage in at checkout and something suspicious came up in the X-ray.
It prevents security staff having to use a knife to slice open suspicious cases & ruin them.
Oh and fair play to Viking, I rang up Tuesday about only receiving 2 packs of rolls and the 3rd lot appeared on Thursday.

I had to e-mail Samsonite to find out how to set the lock. There's a little knob that you need to push in with a pencil, before you set the new code. The knob is on the same side as the bits that you put the zip handle thingee into.

After a few emails, they sent out the trolley and I got an email to say this will be delivered today(that was tueday) 4pm nothing, so i was on chat to them and the guy confirmed that it could be anytime up to 6.30pm. Within 30 mins of that chat received an email "sorry we missed you" we will attempt to deliver again tomorrow. waited the following day and was told the trolley is now lost in the system.
I then go the following email

Unfortunately due to a system error our website allowed for the out of stock case to be added to your basket. Did live chat with them this morning - in my case, I haven't even had an attempted delivery yet as they say they can't find my house (cobblers). Gave them a bit of extra instructions (it's a new build) so they'll try one more time. Kinda hopeful mine includes the case as she said on live chat something like 'hope they'll be able to find it as that offer has ended' or something.
It's surburban London. It's really not hard to find! No-one else, inc Tesco home shopping, couriers, RM, etc, have any problem at all.

My order still shows as Order Confirmed with tracking showing Refused by Customer.... Nothing like returned to depot.
I wonder if Viking need to pay the courier for delivery back to depot or something.... This has been a week and they refuse to process a refund until the stock is returned to their warehouse. Seems unreasonable to me. I did go through PayPal BUT they phoned to say payment would not go through, so I had to pay via debit card in the end so now I have less protection :disappointed:

Tried to get this delivered twice, unsuccessful both times - apparently they don't know how to notify someone that they've turned up on the doorstep or call someone's phone to let them know, or leave any kind of note.
After chasing today I asked about my order and they said there was no cabin bag with the order. So I dug up the original confirmation email, typed the codes out to them (for the rolls & bag) and they then told me that the bag wasn't added to the order due to no stock.
So basically they tried to deliver it twice and were unsuccessful, and failed to inform me that they never intended to ship the bag with the order so my efforts in chasing them were futile anyway - surely I should have been alerted to the lack of stock straight away?
Anyway I've requested a refund, thanks OP for posting the deal as it should have been great but alas the company is awful (I had a feeling that might be the case). Likely the last time I deal with them!

I sent an email requesting for 3rd option, £25 off next shop. Heard nothing from them for 4 days. After realising that voucher cannot be used in most of the items, I changed my mind and called them and told them to refund me £15. After few days, I got an email with £25 off voucher code. I wasn't happy but I couldnt do anything as it was my fault. On Friday, I got an email again saying I got £15 refund. If I use the voucher that will be like £40 off on a order of £36. I am in Dillema. Should I use that £ 25 off voucher too? I know its ethically wrong but then its still less than the value of suitcase. Any suggestions for me? Should I use that £25 voucher too after receiving a refund of £15?

I refused delivery on 14th by phone to my Yodel depot. They turned the parcel round and it got lost at Northampton, nothing on the tracking from 16th at 6am where it says it is at the depot in Northampton being returned to sender. Viking don't even bother to reply to emails. I opened a Paypal dispute and escalated it immediately. It's on hold as Paypal say they haven't heard from the seller and therefore can't act on any tracking. But they say if nothing changes by 1 November they will refund me. Dire dire service from Viking.

It is one of the WORST company I ever had the pleasure of dealing with. On Monday (26/10) I discussed with the CS and they told me by Wednesday (28/10) I will have the refund. I've checked and still nothing so I contacted them again. Today they told me it will be with me in the "next few days". What is that? I'm waiting since 14th of October when the package was collected. They also told me on Monday it takes up to 10 working days to receive a refund. Well, those 10 days are gone and still no refund.

For anyone that paid by Paypal and refused or didn't receive their goods. Open an INR (item not received) case. Escalate it straight away. Paypal then give the seller 10 days to respond. Paypal will refund you if the seller doesn't update the case showing tracking with delivery to you.
The refund from Paypal will cost Viking 20p each time. They also will lose the outward postage they paid to Yodel to deliver or attempt to deliver your order.

I received my paypal refund quickly but now I requested account closure. Had it confirmed, checked later and could still log in. Today I asked them why is that possible still if account was "closed" and got reply that they will request it again and apologised. Checked again and can still log in!!?!?!?!? Did anyone experienced the same problem? I just don't want them to have any of my details as with company so professional like that the next thing coming will be data security breach.

Meanwhile I did the same as you - and received a letter through the post saying a credit note has been processed - yet there is no credit note, nor refund beyond the refund they have finally got round to giving me for the total order value.
There literally is no communication amongst staff at the company. It's an utter and total shambles.
At least I eventually got the refund on the total order value, but why it takes weeks to process a refund whereby they always had the goods is just yet another demonstration of their poor business practice.

I'm sorry to everyone who is continuing to have problems.
I have received a refund into PayPal, but that didn't go back onto my credit card even though that was how I paid, so those who paid by pp I would recommended checking your pp account not just your cc account.
Once again, sorry for the hassle.
On the other hand, lots of people did receive the bags and the £15 refund whilst keeping the rolls was fairly generous by hukd bingo standards. It's a shame they are screwing up so badly when they could have done so much more on the customer service side of things.

Very Poor Customer service. I received emails on 3 consecutive days to say they tried to deliver but there was nobody at home. On 2 of these occasions I am was definitely at home all day. No card was sent through the letter box to say that they had attempted a delivery. Then at the end of the week I got an email to say that they do not have the case in stock and I have the option to return the goods or keep them and get a credit. I replied to the email to say I NEVER got the goods, so how can I return them. I asked for a refund to my credit card. Waited a few days and called back on the 20th October and they said return the goods and you will get a refund. I again explained the items were never delivered to me. They then said they will process a refund. Waited a week and called back on the 26th and they said refund would be back on the card today. Checked the next day and still no refund, so called them again on the 27th and was told the refund had not been applied and they are going to process today and should be back on my card by the end of the week. Called back today 30th and they again say to wait till the 2nd of Nov and call back on 3rd.
This is beyond ridiculous. Will not be dealing with them again.

I did and bought another 3 packs of Cushelle for £6 (they take the £25 off the price without VAT so 3 x £10 = £30 minus £25 voucher = £5 then plus £1 VAT = £6 pounds and this included free shipping).

Finally got our £15 back today after over three weeks of e-mails and phone calls. Excuse was that they 'hadn't got our card details', but didn't bother mentioning this until we said we were going to refer it to the card issuer. If you are still waiting, e-mail them, ask for a call-back and make sure they process it there and then.
