This is an excellent deal. Having just come back from Essaouria and preferred it over to Agadir and Marrakech think this is a bargain. Flights are only £30ish per person on the dates 1st December coming back 5th December with Easyjet from Luton.

Hotel I have searched via Trivago staying at the La Maison Du Sud which is only £31 a night and includes breakfast. We stayed at the Riad Al Madina which was basic but not too bad.
If I had more leave from work I would go again even if it was by myself. Excellent opportunities to take photos and just relax.
the country is fine, you gotta switch off the tv and get out more, may I suggest Morocco

This is classic throwaway answer from someone who knows nothing about the country and probably reads the Daily Express.
Having worked and lived in Morocco and travelled it extensively, you are no more at risk here than in the UK, if anything the UK is a much higher risk. Unlike the other Maghrebi countries Morocco is run by a constitutional Monarchy with a very democratic society, and is run with a firm but fair hand. Like any other Western country and the Tunisian attacks you would simply be extremely unfortunate to get caught up in anything disastrous and it could be London as easily as any other place. The more you avoid these places and the more isolated they become the higher the chances of these awful occurrences happening.
Essaouria is beautiful beyond words and as safe as anywhere in Europe, go and see for yourself when you have put your Daily Express down.

Only spent one day in Essaouira but it is lovely, much cooler than Marrakech when we were there.

Me and my wife went to Agadir almost a month ago. This was before I realised that Morocco was classified as high alert by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office on 4th September. When we got there we had nothing to worry about. There were families there from UK, France and Germany at the hotel I stayed at and we had no worries at all. Took a day trip to Marrakech and Paradise Valley... again no problems.

I agree, the people were so friendly and nice and so hard working and treat tourists with so much respect. Enjoyed it a lot more than Marrakech and Agadir.

Preferred Essaouria as it was much quieter, had a nice beach and mainly didn't get harassed!!
would recommend for a nice quiet holiday. Went as a young couple but most of the UK tourists seemed 40+ with families

My favourite place in Morocco. Quad bikes over the sand dunes with no mph restrictions, windy enough for surfing, great Mexican food place run by a British family who have the best chocolate cheesecake I've ever eaten, ridiculously friendly people. Might take this up for a few days, cheers OP!

Went in May, It was very nice to experience the different culture etc.. But wouldn't go again due to what happened in Tunisia, I wouldn't go to any Muslim Country again though tbh, Far too risky which is a shame especially as Turkey is such a beautiful Country.

Highly recommend Essaouria - beautiful beach and sea. For Game of Thrones fans, quite a few scenes were recorded here. Only negative is that it can be quite windy at times.

Really liked Essaouria. A little tip for sea-food lovers; rather than eat at the tourist restaurants, find out what time the fishing boats return and buy the fish straight from the boat. Not far from where the boats come in you'll find lots of little restaurants (very basic, wooden tables/bench) with barbecues outside - very few tourists if any, full of local folk.
They prepare and cook the fish for you and provide fresh baked bread and a Mediterranean style salad all for a few pence.
It was lovely just chilling with the locals having the best barbecued sardines we'd ever tasted.
£105.38 including flights, B&B, airport pick-up, city tax (3 nights) ... hope it is useful!
Essaouria also beautiful... stayed at Le Teresses D'Essaouria which was a great unique riad in the medina...

Morocco is a beautiful country.
I took my 8 year old son to Marrakech for two weeks in July and we had a fantastic time I would definitely go back.
I found the local people to be very friendly and nice (especially so if you speak french as I do). There is so much to do and see, it really is an amazing city.

Love Essaouira and the whole country! Can't believe some of the crap some people are writing on here. Weather isn't hot that time of the year, daytime highs only usually make it up to 20°C, but hey for a £28 flight who's complaining! If only I had more leave left!

ours are easyjet manchester 17th-26th i think they have gone up a bit but other dates available.
We have found a 5 star resort heated outdoor pool-dont care if its not roasting will be warmer than here. April was 27/28 degrees in agadir and fab x

For those who are saying Morocco is no more risky than the UK I need to point out if you go there you will be at higher risk than the native inhabitants as terrorists will target white people if they choose to attack during your holiday. Morocco is also a largely muslim country and so will have plenty of Al Qaeda and Isis supporters
