bought one of these a couple of years ago, well worth it and well made takes a lot of punishment.

I would not use this tool for polishing a car. It's great for any laminate flooring job. Really good at trimming down the architrave on doors so you can slide the plank under or cutting bottom of skirtings. They do tend to eat the blades so get a spare pack from either aldi or lidl where they are cheap. Bosch blades are expensive and IMO not any better.

The best ones of these are the Fein ones, if you use it every day then you will appreciate the better quality and longevity. If you do a DIY job with it once every 6 months or so though, save your cash and get one of these.

Are the attachments a standard fit or different for individual makes?

I agree Fein is the best for this tool but they cost 10 times the price of this. The blades are all standard.

Bought one a couple of years ago, don't use it a lot but when I need it, it's invaluable.

I have one of these (in a sturdy case) and its really usefull, I was fortunate enough to get one at a reduced price of £15 and bought a couple of packs of spare blades/cutters for less than a fiver a pack, normally about £7 a pack.
Obviously its not a Bosch or one of the other expensive brands, but I have used it numerous times and would have been happy to pay 3 X the price (glad I didnt) and its the same as with the LIDL power tools 3 YEAR warranty.

Been wanting one for a while, so thanks, just bought one.
Never used one and not sure why I need one, but after cutting a nice large square hole in its box, I'm sure I have a use for it!

Yeah, I think you're thinking of a different tool as the almost all of these type of tools run between 250-350W motors.
These are great for doing jobs you didn't know they made a tool for. Specifically blind plunge cuts into wood or plasterboard.

Great tool but very very loud even on the lowest setting. Anyone else experience this?
