From the website:
"Perfect around the home or in the garage, with a handy quick-charge feature and lots of accessories.

18V Ni-CD, 1.2Ah battery pack
Quick stop
Electronic speed control
16 torque settings and drill mode
Sanou keyless chuck (0.8-10mm)
Charges in approx. 1 hour
13 accessories including Screw Bits and a Magnetic Bit Holder"
I've seen other cordless drills out there at the same price but most don't come with a 3year warranty so picked this one up today.

I suppose for £19.99 it would make a good disposable electric screwdriver.
But as previous people have said Ni-cd is crap and so will this be if used as a drill.

Funny how Ni-Cd is sooooo passé. For occasional home work this is a bargain, therefore heat!

Perfectly adequate for occasional use. I've got an Erbauer drill with Ni Cad batteries and they still charge after 6 years.

I had a 12v NiCd Black and Decker drill with a slow charger that was borrowed by my father while he was working as a carpenter/ kitchen fitter. The Nicd battery pack lasted over 10 years and survived being dropped from ladders, although the drill body broke in half a couple of times and had to be fibre-glassed back together
My dad liked it because like this one it didn't have hammer action, so the drill was nice and light, and also compact. He preferred to use sds drill for masonry anyway as they are drastically quicker than standard hammer drills..

NiMh batteries would be nice, but what do you expect for twenty quid? Ni Cad do suffer from memory effect, but then again don't discharge themselves over time - you pays your money and takes your choice!

I've always found Ni-Cd's to self discharge quite badly. Admittedly most of my experience of Ni-Cd batteries are from 15+ years ago, but wikipedia says they aren't much better than NiMH for self discharge. Only Lithium ion and low self discharge NiMH are good choices for occasional spur of the moment use.

TO CLAIM ON THE WARRANTY, YOU HAVE TO SEND BACK TO THE FIRM WHICH MAKES THE DRILL AND THAT WILL PROBABLY COST ABOUT £2O TO SEND SAFELY BY RECORDED DELIVERY. SO NOT REALLY A 3 YEAR WARRANTY.

Why are you shouting? If it's like most also stuff then you usually just have to take it back to the store.
