Just booked a 14 night costa cruise for £399 a person. Going on 2nd November and includes 3 night stay room only in Venice first followed by an 11 night cruise. Have gone with Costa before and it is excellent value for money

Best to make sure you can swim if you're planning to go with Costa. And check whether the Captain's already in a lifeboat........

We have 2 cabins for the second one. (One balcony.for us and the kids for the inside cabin.) The first trip is without kids. Bliss. which is just as well as it's a 6* all inclusive. I couldn't justify the cost, but were making it for a special treat.

Good price for the package. We did the same in May this year and stayed in Mestre which is a 15 minute bus journey from the mainland into Venice itself. Mestre has a lot of good restaurants and bars if you want to eat there in the evening. If you drink more than about five alcoholic drinks on board per day, the inclusive package is worthwhile. Luggage was standard Jet2 rates. Transfers by taxi were very reasonable.

Yes, I have booked with Iglu. I did find them good and I did manage to haggle the price down a bit. i didnt however book the RC trip as I thought the cabins sounded far to small. But this was the trip that cruise nation quoted £75 per case.
Not sure if Ive chosen wisely with the cruise I did book with Iglu for a family cruise - and it was much more expensive than the RC trip, but we'll see. Ive also booked for a trip direct with Silversea in April. Love their ships.

I've booked with cruisenatiom before and have a booking with them for next July on royal caribbean (jewel of the seas). Luggage was £34 and I've never paid anywhere near £75. I wouldn't fancy a Costa cruise but each to their own.

I'm sure that's the case and I'm only going on personal experience in my enquiries.
A trip I almost booked (I booked something different in the end) from Venice with Royal Caribbean next August and came with free flights. Cruise Nation wanted to charge £75 per case, iglu was included. They'd added an extra cost that was free with the cruise companies own offer.

it was £652 this is the thread...although we went in august from rome..
maybe it varies by package but we paid £649 each 3 nights rome, flights, 7 night cruise queen vic in august. I paid taxi/trains to and from port/airport as and when..

Nice cruise for the money, only thing I'd be concerned about is the Venice hotel....we paid £350 a night just for our hotel, so £399 for cruise and stay bears thinking about..

our hotels would have cost us half the cost of our package in central Rome..we were also given 2 rooms one for the kids. The only extras we paid in Rome were transfers to/from ship/airport and they clearly tell you at booking its isnt included.
that was one of our hotels..if they offer a hotel you dont fancy they will change it for you. I cant fault Cruise nation. CS after booking was excellent..i was full of questions! all answered quickly and professionally. We will use again next year for sure x
(btw i dont work for them lol)

I've not booked with them no, but I have made enquiries to cruise nation. For the flights to Barcelona they wanted £75 per suitcase. There were other extras that weren't included (I don't mean drinks packages or gratuities either.)

Costa is the Butlins of the Sea. The entire brand was set up to make money off people that want a cruise experience but can't afford normally afford it.

Haha. Well it's a good point, though I think on this occasion this trip doesn't have flights included, so a mute point. However I expect flights only a few weeks away won't be cheep.
OP can you clarify the details of how you are getting to Venice inc cost of flights and luggage?

If you have just booked, you will know how much they charge for luggage. Cruise Nation are notorious for unavoidable extras and routinely charge £75 to £100 per suitcase.
Please let people know the extra costs you've had to pay.

luggage was standard airline prices when we booked and went in summer! there was a £50 booking fee if i recall which still made our deal £650 each for a balcony cabin with cunard 3 nights in Rome and flights v £1300 each direct with Cunard just for the cruise! Have you actually booked with them????? People on our cruise were repeat guests some had paid £299 for Costa deals and didnt expect it to be legit but it was!

Its a good price but there is nothing more miserable than a wet and cold cruise where you cannot enjoy the decks or the ports of call.

Bit chilly this time of year but still excellent value for money - worth it for the stay in Venice alone!
